about the school of LawIEC School of Law offers a five year integrated courses that are
B.A LLB (Hons), B.com LLB (Hons), Three year Undergraduate
Degree Program in Law (LLB) and One Year LLM (Company Law).
The School has been set up to impart legal education to students
with its well-structured courses & aims to make them aware of the
legal rights & responsibilities. The School ensures that the students
get a comprehensive understanding of the practical aspects of
law thus acquiring legal skills. The course includes seminars,
tutorial work, moot courts and practical training programes.
Legal internships provides an opportunity for students to increase
their knowledge of substantive areas of law, gain exposure to a real
work environment and provide valuable support to a legal employer.
Legal Education in IndiaIn India, there are various types of degree courses for Law offered. The
five-year course, BA LLB (Hons) and B.Com LLB (Hons) is available
straight after high school, at an undergraduate level. Students who
decide a career in law after graduation in any field can opt for the
three-year LLB course and after LLB students can go for Masters
Degree in Law LLM (Company Law).
for five-year Course
• The candidate is eligible to take all these tests if he has completed his Class 12
(High School) with a minimum of 45% marks.
• The candidate should not be more than 22 years old.
for three-year Course
• The candidate is expected to have completed his bachelor’s degree with at least 45%
marks.
After LL.B, graduates can also pursue further studies in Law. There is a Full-Time
Post Graduation course – LLM., which is of one years duration. Some students also
go abroad to other common law jurisdictions for further education in Law.
Enrolment with the Bar Council
After the completion of the Law Degree, a law graduate has to join a particular State
Bar Council to be able to practice in the courts. This is a standard procedure for
lawyers to get sanction to practice anywhere in the country.
all India Bar Examination (aIBE)
Bar Council of India has introduced the All India Bar Examination (AIBE), in order
to test an advocate’s ability to practice the profession of Law in India. All students
graduating need to clear the All India Bar Examination in order to practice law in
the country. The test will assess candidate’s analytical abilities and basic knowledge
of Law. After qualifying the exam, the candidate will be awarded “Certificate of
Practice” by the Bar Council of India.

Law, the professionLaw as a profession has been among the highest paid jobs in the country since last few decades. There was
a time when it was counted as a royal profession. Over the years, the glory that was attached to it might
have been lost but there is no denying that the most successful lawyers are those with brilliant minds. In
United States, lawyers charge money on hourly basis and not surprisingly they are the richest personalities
in the country. A career in law is no longer confined to the limits of the courtroom. The opportunities
today are aplenty.There are various kinds of legal practice including: Private Practice, Public Interest
Law, Government Counsel and Corporate Counsel. The different branches of specializations in law are
civil law, criminal law, corporate law, property law, income tax law, marine law, public international law,
family law, labour law, press law, excise law, constitutional law, administration law, sale of goods law,
trade mark, copyright and patent law, cyber law etc.

Lawyers are professionals who have studied the law. They help people with a wide range of legal matters,
from incorporating companies to settling legal disputes and play a critical role in the justice system

This five year full time program aims to expose students to multi disciplinary subjects like sociology,
political science, history, law and economics. The course is of great importance and relevance not only
to the profession of advocacy but also to serve in the corporate sector. The relevant subjects like Law
of Intellectual Property Rights, Corporate Law, Environment Law, Law & Ethics, Labour Law, Law &
Medicine, Alternate Disputes Resolutions, IT Law and so on are also included in the syllabus.
Eligibility: Graduate / Post Graduate degree with 50% marks.
Duration: 3 Years (Full-time Regular)
Credit points: 140
This three year full time program seeks to create lawyers with an in-depth knowledge of Law. Besides
this the focus is also on training the students in practical aspects of Law. Exposure to working of the
court forms an integral part of the pedagogy. The course has been designed to produce competitive Law
professionals who can excel in their career.

This course not only covers theoretical areas but also include practical sessions. The Five Year LLB course
over three year LLB honours course is that the candidates can save one year. They can select B.A LLB
(Hons), B.Com LLB (Hons), and BBA LLB (Hons) according to their interest. They need not pursue the
concerned undergraduate course and then join LLB as an additional course. Integrated course will give
them an opportunity to complete their law course in a continuous stretch without any break. The Honours
shall be in the following subjects, constituting necessarily fields for a competent lawyer of modern age
Banking Law, Competition Law, Human Rights Law, Gender Justice and Feminist Jurisprudence,
Forensic Science, Health Care Law and Transport Law.

LL.M. - Company Law is a one year full-time degree program from IEC University. To deal with the new
challenges in the corporate world, legal professionals with the ability to unravel legal complexities are

What’s next?Both public and private sector organizations offer employment
opportunities for lawyers. Those who are interested in practicing
law as a profession can enroll with the Local/State/Central Bar
Council and work as an advocate. Central/State Government
jobs are also open to Lawyers. By clearing exams conducted
by Public Service Commissions, a law graduate can become a
judge.
They can be appointed as Judges of various courts, as Attorney
and Solicitor General, as Public Prosecutor and also in Defense,
Tax and Labour departments. Moreover Lawyer can also work
as legal counsel and legal advisers for firms, organizations and
families. They also can be appointed as Company Secretaries
in various firms. After completing Law, one can also go for
teaching in colleges or work with NGOs. A lawyer can also work
with newspapers and television channels.

Candidate can send an online application by filling the form & making a
payment of `500 online or through filling the particulars of a Demand Draft
of the same amount made from any nationalized bank in favor of “Finance
Officer, IEC University, Baddi” payable at New Delhi/Baddi/Himachal
Pradesh. Those making the Payment through DD will then take a printout
of the filled online admission form and submit the same to the campus along
with the original draft and copies of required testimonials.
Documents required: 12th class mark sheet, character certificate,
DOB certificate, two passport size photographs or as per the requirement of
the course.

Application form will be scrutinized by the admission committee constituted
by IEC University. If you are short-listed, you’ll be informed through a call or
an email.

Short-listed candidates will be called for counseling and selected candidates

5. Commencement of classes: 1st week of August
procedure of refund• Applicant can obtain Fee Refund Form from the Admission cell in the University Campus, after the admission
period is over. IEC University Accounts department will process the refund after getting the Fee Refund Form
from the applicant.
• The fee would be refunded only after the applicant has surrendered the original fee receipt, ID card (if issued)
and any other documents, as required by IEC University at the time of refund.
• Once the form and payment receipt has been verified, the University will deduct admission processing charges,
as applicable, from the amount collected as admission fees. The schedule of charges to be deducted is mentioned
in the webpage below.
• Refund, if any, shall be made only through cheque (account payee) in the favor of the concerned applicant.
Refund for payments made online through Credit / Debit cards will be processed & credited to the same Credit
/ Debit card account after receiving and processing the written refund request from the student.
tuition fee refund policy
• In case an applicant who has made full or partial payment withdraws before completing his registration, only
processing fees of INR 1,000/- shall be deducted. The remaining tuition fees shall be returned.
• In case an applicant withdraws after completing his registration and if the seat consequently falling vacant is
filled by another waitlisted applicant (if any) by the last date of admissions, the total amount after a deduction of
INR 1,000/- shall be refunded; otherwise one term tuition fee shall be forfeited.
• In case an applicant completes his registration and withdraws after the commencement of classes but before the
last day of admission and if the seat consequently falling vacant is filled by another wait listed applicant (if any)
by the last date of admissions, the total amount after a deduction of tuition fee on a monthly pro-rata basis shall
be refunded; otherwise one term tuition fee shall be forfeited.
• In case an applicant completes his registration and withdraws after the commencement of classes and also after
the last day of admission, the total amount after a deduction of one term tuition fee shall be refunded, as the seat
shall remain vacant
Hostel fee refund policy
Refund of Hostel Fee shall also be considered on the above mentioned basis. If the hostel room thus falling vacant
is allotted to a wait listed candidate (if any), whether the withdrawal has been done before or after the room is
occupied, the hostel fee shall be refunded after monthly pro-rata deductions. However, if the room remains vacant,
no refund shall be considered.
transport fee refund policy
Refund of Bus Transport Fee shall also be considered on the above mentioned basis. If the bus seat thus falling
vacant is allotted to a wait listed candidate (if any) on the same route, whether the withdrawal has been done before
or after the commencement of classes, the bus transport fee shall be refunded after monthly pro-rata deductions.
However, if the bus seat remains vacant, no refund shall be considered.
security fee refund policy
Security Fee shall be refunded after approval from the Admissions & Student Services Officer. He/she shall
investigate whether the candidate has harmed/damaged any property belonging to the University. In such cases,
security fee shall be refunded after deducting the cost of repairs; otherwise, the entire security deposit shall be
refunded.
mess fee refund policy
All students who are staying in the University Hostel, with in the Campus or outside, will have to take food in
the mess facility (Veg. or Non Veg.) provided by the University. No refund application will be entertained once a
student occupies a room in the hostel.
