AkedahAfter these things God tested Abraham…

Genesis 22:1

Abraham!

‘Hineni’‘Here I am’

Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah.There you shalloffer him as a burnt offering.

Genesis 22:2

Abraham rose early and took

two young men and Isaac with a donkey, cut the wood and they

set out.On the third day

he sees the place far away

Genesis 22:3

Abraham took the wood for the offering and laid it on his son Isaac. He himself carried the fire and the knife.

The twoof them walked

on together.

Here are the fire and the wood…

but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

“God himself will provide the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.”

So, the twoof them walked

on together.

Abraham built an altar and laid the wood on top.He bound his son Isaac, and laid him on the altar.

Then Abraham reached out his

hand and took the knife to kill his son.
