Blackwell’s magical season came to an end Friday night with a state semi-final 56-44 loss to Motley County. The Hornets fell behind early in the first quarter and could never make up the difference. Five different Hornets scored touchdowns, but it would prove to not be enough.

Emilee Sanderson, a student at Blackwell High School, recently placed in two FFA State LDE Events. Out of a total of 701 entries from across the state, Emilee placed fourth in Senior Creed Speaking. She also placed 10th in the Job Interview contest, which had a total of 488 entries. Emilee competed over the course of two days at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville with the best competitors that Texas FFA has to offer. In FFA Creed competition, competitors present the FFA Creed and answer three questions. In the Job Interview contest, students go through the complete interview contest. They also create a job description, cover letter, and resume, as well as going through a phone interview, personal interview, and wrap it up with a follow up letter. Blackwell FFA’s success
