  Richard “Doc” Diller, Octorara Science Teacher

: 1957-1984; Head Track Coach 1961-1984 &Head Cross Country Coach: 1958-1984.Amassing a total of 15 League Championships& 3 District Titles. (SCCL)

1993 Rubberized Track surface and Frenchdrain is installed. In order to pay for this, theStees family mortgaged their farm. Additionalfunds were raised by the Track Boosters.

1997- Stadium Lights- The stadium lights arepurchased by funds raised by the Soccer Club.The lights were installed by a joint effort

involving the 211th

Engineering InstallationSquadron of the Pennsylvania Air NationalGuard (Indiantown Gap, PA) and Mr. SamGanow of J. Ray Patterson in exchange for lunch.

1998- Concession Stand- Built by donated moneyand labor from the Soccer Club.

2000-Press Box-Built by Mr. Cliff Blantzwith the help of five student volunteers.

2012 – Coach Tibor LeHotay & otherscomplete a concession stand renovationproject. Time & Materials all donated @an estimated cost of $9800.00

2007 —Football program initiated andprivately funded.

We believe there is an intensifying needfor a quality stadium to serve the growthand development of the Octorara SchoolDistrict’s athletic programs. Theseprograms have historically been directly

supported by the community throughgenerous donations of time and labor.

Octorara School district’s cocurricularathletic programs have proventhemselves to be a vital ingredient to thesuccess of the district’s student athletes.

As of Fall 2012 - 27 percent of OHSStudents involved in athletic programsvs total enrollment, fall semester 2012.

Remediation of existing playing surface to beginimmediately at the conclusion of the 2012 FallSports Season.

Continuing with soil preparation sub-surface

drainage system. Installation of topsoil, fertilization and crowning of

field to be completed prior to Holiday Break

The stadium task force asks the School Board

for a loan of up to $85,000 in order to maintainour aggressive timeline schedule.

The task force is fully vested in achieving the

goal of upgrading the current playing surfaceto a more sustainable field.

Long term goals include but not limited to. ADA Compliant Stadium Bleachers

360 Degree Fencing

Resurfacing Existing Track Surface

Continued Concession Stand Improvements

Fully Synthetic Playing Surface
