Aucott’s Announcements Subject Updates Math – using multiplication and division in problems. PLEASE help and practice the multiplication facts with your child. We are up to 6 tables in November . Reading – Lesson 7- Justin and the Best Biscuits – skill is conflict, plot events, and resolution. We are also learning how to answer an open-ended question. We are trying to integrate our robust vocabulary in our normal conversations. Spelling – words with a VCCV (vowel consonant, consonant, vowel) where and how to break it into syllables. This helps in decoding an unknown word. Writing – completing personal narratives with alliteration and similes. We are beginning to write friendly letters and learn the parts of the friendly letters. I am so impressed with the children’s narratives. They are already making large strides in writing. Science –Wetlands mini-unit. Swamps, marshes, bogs, and fens. October end, 2012 October 2012 O Character -Kindness Alert – Our class often times shows kindness to each other in picking a dropped item up for another child or by helping them with work. It is wonderful! Growing in – Coming in and getting morning work without being reminded. Each week we highlight and talk about the things we did well. What a good feeling we have when we Report Period 1 is complete already!

Math – using multiplication and division in problems.PLEASE help and practice the multiplication facts with your child. We are up to 6 tables in November .

Parent teacher conferences are coming up in 2 weeks. You will receive your child’s report card at that time. I will keep to the 15 minutes to be

sure we don’t run over and delay the next person.
