Post-Finasteride Syndrome: Fact, Fantasy or Forgetaboutit?Kevin T. McVary, MD - Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University Medical Center

Dr. Kevin T. McVary graduated with distinction from Northwestern Uni-versity, received his MD degree from Northwestern Medical School and completed a 6-year program in Urology and general surgery at North-western University and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. McVary joined the staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and was a Profes-sor of Urology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine for 23 years. He served as the Director of the Center for Sexual Health at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, conducted the Prostate Diseases Minimally Invasive Program, and Director of the Andrology Fellowship Program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Southern Illinois Univer-sity School of Medicine and now at Loyola University Medical Center.

In 2012 he was named the Chairman of Urology at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine located in Springfield, IL, his hometown. In 2018 he returned to Chicagoland to become the Director of the Center for Male Health, Professor of Urology at the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center.

His primary clinical areas include prostate diseases including prostate cancer and BPH as well as the evaluation and treatment of sexual function. Dr. McVary has had an extensive experience conducting clinical trials for the National Institute and Health and numerous private and industry foundations. An experienced investigator in prostatic disorders and erectile dysfunction (ED), Dr. McVary is currently and has recently been principal investigator for more than 75 clinical trials. Dr. McVary’s research has generated more than 400 publications including refereed journal arti-cles, books, book chapters, and abstracts.

What a Mesh: SUI and POP surgery and the FDA Eric S. Rovner, MD - Medical University of South Carolina

Dr. Eric S. Rovner is a Professor in the Department of Urology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, South Car-olina. He is the director of the Section of Voiding Dysfunction, Female Urology and Urodynamics in the Department of Urology at MUSC.

He is Board Certified in Urology as well as Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. He is a member of the American Urological Association, International Continence Society, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Society of Pelvic Surgeons, and the American As-sociation of GU Surgeons. Dr. Rovner has served on several commit-tees for the International Consultation on Incontinence. He served as

a member of the AUA/ABU Examination Committee, the AUA Urodynamics Guidelines Commit-tee, and the AUA SUI Guidelines Committee, and is Past President of SUFU.

Dr. Rovner’s research interests include the study of voiding dysfunction, overactive bladder, inter-stitial cystitis, neurourology and urodynamics. He has a highly specialized clinical practice within Urology and sees mostly patients with complex voiding problems including urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse, urinary fistulae and neurogenic bladder dysfunction. He has held several visiting professorships and is the author or coauthor of over 150 peer-reviewed scientific articles, over 25 book chapters, dozens of monographs as well as books on urinary incontinence and urodynamics. He has been an invited speaker on numerous occasions throughout the United States and the world, and has been the Principal or co-investigator on multiple grants.
