Scope

• Engineer, procure and install a horizontal Stochastic Cooler and associated equipment in the RHIC Blue and Yellow rings.– The major procurements include amplifiers, electronics and

vacuum vessel assemblies.

• Each ring contains:– 2 vacuum vessels with 8 cavities per vessel– 1 pickup

Bumps in the road…

Our design requires a large rectangular vacuum seal for the kicker tanks which we were trying to develop with outside vendors but were unsuccessful. This delayed us by 3-4 months, and the final resolution was to weld the tanks.

Safety

• ARRA AIPs are fully integrated into the C-AD Safety organization and subject to the same standards as RHIC– ESSH&Q Division and Safety Committees– Procedures and safe practices– Trained supervisors and employees– All work has been done safely. No safety occurrences on the

project.
