08:30 – 16:00 liberating Structures Workshopliberating structures engage and bring people together in a way that is simple but powerful and profound. Conventional structures are either too inhibiting or too loose and disorganized to creatively engage people in shaping their own future. This workshop will focus on practicing liberating structures. You will immerse yourself with several liberating structures and increase your “fluency” so that you can apply them back in your own community or work environment.

08:30 – 12:00 Using Gamification to Maximize Motivation & Engagement for Health ImprovementGamification is using elements of games and design in non-gaming contexts (like health care!). This half day, very interactive workshop, is designed to provide participants with an understanding of how motivational theory and game design converge to engage patients, families and those working within the health care system to improve care. You’ll get an opportunity to explore how gamification can be used in your own initiatives and take home some resources to help you get started!
