Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever aman soweth, that shall he also reap (Galatians 6:7).

TThe Lord Jesus, in narrating the parable of the sowersaid, “A“A sowersower wentwent outout toto sowsow hishis seed…”seed…” (Luke

8:5). Then in the eleventh verse, He explained that the seedthe sower sowed was the Word of God, letting us know thatwords are seeds.

We read in our opening verse that what you sow iswhat you reap. If you sow good seeds (the right words) intoyour life, they’ll produce the right results. You can’t sow cornseeds, for instance, and expect to harvest mangos; every seedreproduces after its kind. So, the question is, what words areyou sowing into your life?

Words come to us when we listen to other people,in messages that we receive from our environment, what weread, watch etc. These words become seeds that are sowninto our lives, reproducing the character that we become.Who you are today is not an accident; it’s the result of allthe seeds (words) that have been sown into you all yourlife: by those who took care of you while you were growingup, your environment, the schools you attended, and all theinformation you received through your senses of hearing andsight. How these words got into you isn’t so important; what’simportant is that they did, and today you’re the result of thosewords.

If those words (seeds) weren’t the right ones, and youwant to make adjustments, you have to introduce new“seeds.” You can’t make the adjustment by crying or

regretting; you can only do so by sowing the right words intoyou. Sow words of joy, peace and love, and you’ll reap thesame. Your life goes in the direction of your words. If yourwords are excellent, your life will be excellent.

Stop your heart and ears from the wrong words. Theonly words you should allow take root in your heart are wordsthat inspire, lift, bless and stir you in the direction of God’sperfect will.

But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord JesusChrist lives… (Philippians 3:20 NLT).

WWhen you were born again, you became a bonafide citizen of heaven. You’re from the

government of Zion, functioning in the earth as heaven’sambassador. The Spirit of God plainly emphasized thisthrough the writings of the Apostle Paul to the Church.Ephesians 1:21 says Jesus Christ has been set in the place ofauthority in the heavenly realms, not just above or nearabove, but “far” above all principality, and power; that is,every rulership or government, and the authority by whichthey govern.

The Wuest Translation renders it beautifully: it saysChrist is seated “…over“…over andand aboveabove everyevery governmentgovernment andandauthorityauthority andand powerpower andand lordship....”lordship....” You might say, “Yes,that’s Jesus, but how does that connect me?” Ephesians 2:1-6gives us the connection. Part of it says, “And“And youyou hathhath hehequickened…togetherquickened…together withwith Christ,Christ, (by(by gracegrace yeye arearesaved;)...Andsaved;)...And hathhath raisedraised usus upup together,together, andand mademade usus sitsittogethertogether inin heavenlyheavenly placesplaces inin ChristChrist Jesus.”Jesus.” Notice yourcurrent location: you’ve been raised up together, and madeto sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

This, therefore, means you’re from the governmentof heaven; you’re over and above every rulership orgovernment, and the authority by which they govern. Itdoesn’t matter where you go in this world; wherever youfind yourself, be conscious of your heavenly pedigree. WhenI go out, whether from one country to another or withinan environment, I’m always conscious that I’m from thegovernment of heaven. Carry that consciousness as well.

GGreat men and women are usually very humble.People who are puffed up or arrogant are never

great. In fact, they’re puffed up because there isn’t anythinggreat about them. Every child of God must be humble. Humility,however, doesn’t mean you’re foolish, neither does it meanstupidity. Humility is of the mind and of the heart; it’s ofthe inward man. You can know a humble man not just fromthe outside, but from the inside. True humility is submittingyourself to the Lordship of Jesus Christ through the Word.The Word of God is the only power that can get into yourspirit to make the necessary adjustments. When you studythe Word and let it guide your thoughts, actions and way oflife, you’re automatically submitting to Jesus because He’s theLiving Word.

God has destined you for greatness! As you getgreater, be more humble. Small men are rough, brash and

GGod wants you to value yourself for who you are.There’re people who aren’t satisfied with

themselves; they have the burden of always wishing theywere like someone else. No; be yourself. And the first way todo that is to value yourself, because God values you and ishappy about you. Remember that you can’t treat anyone elseright until you treat yourself right; if you’re not glad aboutyourself, you most certainly won’t be glad about anyone else.

You’re valuable to God; that’s why He sent Jesus todie in your place. The value of an item is the price paid forit. Your value is the life of the Son of God, our Lord JesusChrist. So value yourself and quit trying to be someone else.Be happy about you, and be the best of you for God. Godloves diversity and that’s the beauty of life. We’re so many inthe world, but God expresses Himself through every one of usin different ways; and until you recognize that, you may neverbe able to bring out the best in you.

It’s your responsibility to bring out the best in you.Your heart is like a garden, and God expects you to tend it,and bring forth the best out of your garden. It’s up to you,what you produce from your garden: the kind of crop youcome up with. What you sow is what you reap (Galatians6:7).

We read in our opening verse that you’re God’sworkmanship. You’re His excellent handiwork. You mean somuch to Him. Become satisfied with the truth that He lovesyou, wants you, and is happy to have someone like you.

…But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, whilewe were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:7-8).

SSome people believe anyone who isn’t like them hasa problem; they try to “change” other people or get

them to measure up to their standards. Having pastored for somany years, I’ve learnt that you really can’t “change”anybody. The best thing is to see others the way God seesthem; love them the way they are.

God didn’t ask us to change so He could love us; Heloved us while we were yet sinners. He didn’t wait for us tobecome righteous first; He loved us the way we were andsent Jesus to die in our place.

If God didn’t wait for us to “change” first, beforesending Jesus to die for us, then we must emulate the same inour relationships. This doesn’t mean we don’t need to makechanges in our lives or expect changes in other people. Thechange we all need to embrace, however, is that which helpsus become even more gracious; that which helps us becomemore and more of what God wants us to be: the expressionof His glory, righteousness, and love. You don’t need to“change” your neighbours, friends, colleagues, spouse, etc.;just love them. They are all wonderful the way they are.

Read what Paul said: “To“To thethe weakweak becamebecame II asweak,asweak,thatthat II mightmight gaingain thethe weak:weak: II amam mademade allall thingsthings toto allall men,men,thatthat II mightmight byby allall meansmeans savesave some”some” (1 Corinthians 9:22).That means he made adjustments to accommodate otherpeople. That’s for us to emulate.

Remember, before he learnt that, he was trying tochange other people. He was on his way to Damascus to“change” the Christians, when the Lord called him and gave

him his divine assignment (Acts 9:3-5), to turn the Gentilesfrom darkness to light, and from the power of Satan untoGod. But that was for a purpose; it was so the Gentiles mayreceive forgiveness of sins, and an inheritance amongst themwhich are sanctified (Acts 26:18). It wasn’t so that He (God)could love the Gentiles more.

We can share God’s love—His Word with others—tohelp them become what God wants them to be, not what wewant them to be.

laboured in vain (Philippians 2:14-16).

TThe underlined portion of our theme scripture says,“Holding forth the word of life.” When you hold

forth the Word of life, you’re holding out the picture of Jesus,for He is the Living Word, and He is life. The beautiful thingabout that picture is that when it’s held out, people seethemselves and how beautiful they are; they see a reflectionof themselves in Christ. God’s Word mirrors us. 2 Corinthians3:18 says, “But“But wewe all,all, withwith openopen faceface beholdingbeholding asas inin aa glassglassthethe gloryglory ofof thethe Lord,Lord, areare changedchanged intointo thethe samesame imageimage fromfromgloryglory toto glory,glory, eveneven asas byby thethe SpiritSpirit ofof thethe Lord.”Lord.”

As we look into God’s mirror, which is His Word,where the beauty of Christ is expressed, we’re changed intothe same image of glory that we see in the Word. Thenyou discover you’re not the weakling you thought you were;you’re not the disease-stricken fellow or drug addict for whichothers had written off. You’re the glory of God. Christ is yourbeauty, and your righteousness. As He is, so are you, in thisworld (1 John 4:17).

This is why it’s so important that you study andmeditate on the Word. As you do, you see the reflection ofwho you are in Christ, and your inheritance in Him: “And“Andnow,now, brethren,brethren, II commendcommend youyou toto God,God, andand toto thethe wordword ofof

IIsaac had received an instruction from the Lord, not toleave his country to Egypt because of the famine in

his country. Of course, people were migrating to Egypt toseek relief, and Isaac thought to do the same. Isaac adhered to the Lord’s instruction, and the result iswhat we see in our opening verses. He grew, waxed great andbecame very great, so much so that the Philistines envied himin the same land that was ravaged by famine. God destinedthe man Isaac for greatness, and he would have strayed fromthat plan had he not harkened to the Lord’s instruction to stayback in Gerar.

Follow the leading of God’s Spirit for your life. Evenif you were at crossroads, refuse to be tempted to go in adirection that you know is contrary to what God has shownyou or told you. Yield to the Spirit, for He alone knows andhas the blueprint for your greatness, prosperity, and success.Your greatness isn’t determined by your geographicallocation or earthly nativity. It’s by your heavenly citizenship,and the continuous deposit of God’s Word in your spirit.

This prayer in our opening verse and the other prayersof Paul recorded in the Epistles are certainly not the onlyprayers that Paul ever prayed. However, the Spirit of Godspecifically picked the ones recorded in Scripture becausethey were important for the Church; they were the Spirit’sout-breathings for the Church. From the eighteenth verse, theSpirit began to let us know what the mysteries and secrets Hewants us to grasp are about: They are about Jesus Christ andHis victory; the place He occupies today, and His connectionwith the Church (read Ephesians 1:18-23). TThere’re two Greek words you’d find most frequentlytranslated “love” in the New Testament. The first is

“Agape,” and the other is “Phileo.” The latter stems from theGreek word “Philadelphia,” which means “brotherly love.”Brotherly love is that godly affection you have for your fellowbrothers and sisters in Christ. It’s when you learn to do thingsfor them, and are willing to help, receive, share with andesteem others, being kind and affectionate towards them. TheBible encourages it. For example, if I were sitting on a chair, and you camein, not having a seat, and I said to you, “O, come overhere and share mine with me.” That’s brotherly kindness.Perhaps it’s food and I decided to share it with you, that’s anexpression of brotherly love. “Agape,” on the other hand, isdifferent; it’s self-giving love; a sacrificial kind of giving. In thiscase, I don’t just “share the seat” with you, I offer it to you tosit on. I don’t just share the food with you, I give it all to you.That’s “agape,” the love of Christ.

“Agape” is the love that’s been shed abroad in ourhearts by the Holy Spirit; this means you can truly loveeveryone selflessly. Don’t just say, “Agree with me…,” and start talkingand praying; explain the issues, so they can agree with youfrom their hearts. There has to be a “heart-agreement,” nota “head-agreement.” That’s the reason you’d need to outlineand clarify what you want, so they can catch the vision withyou and pray in agreement. Having done that, stand yourground and declare, “In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,we stand against such-and-such, and we want it changed!”And it shall be so!

When I need to pray about certain things with someleaders in our ministry, I don’t just call them and say,“Gentlemen, let’s pray about so-and-so”; no! DDavid made the statement in our opening verse inthe final days of his life, when he was old. He was

talking to God in prayer and said, “O God, both riches andhonour come from you….” We observe from this prayerwhere riches and honour come from; they come from God.

David was a man of honour. Samuel the prophet hadanointed him, and he knew he was going to be king of Israel.He began to learn about the anointing of God’s Spirit, andabout the king’s office. He studied these things and showedhimself approved to God on many occasions when he wastested (2 Timothy 2:15).

One of such occasions was when King Saul tried tokill him and went after him with three thousand soldiers. Theopportunity came for David to attack Saul, but he wouldn’t,because he knew if He did, he wouldn’t only be dishonouringSaul, but the anointing as well, for Saul was anointed of God.Even when he cut just a little piece of King Saul’s garment toprove to him that he got close enough to have harmed him,he repented and asked God to forgive him (1 Samuel 24:5).Here was a man who was hunting him and wanted him dead,yet David chose to honour him because he was a man ofhonour and he knew where honour came from. SSome people quote Romans 5:17 and say, “theywhich receive the abundance of grace.” A few Bible

translations render it that way too; they introduce the definitearticle “the” into it, and it’s not supposed to be so. The correctrendering is, “…they“…they whichwhich receivereceive abundanceabundance ofof grace….”grace….”There’s a difference between the two.

When the Bible says, “they which receive abundanceof grace,” it refers to an overflowing thereof. It’s up to youhow much grace you want to take. That’s why it doesn’tsay, “the abundance of grace.” Some have taken more gracethan others, and as the Bible says, “…he“…he givethgiveth moremore grace…”grace…”(James 4:6). God’s responsibility is to distribute more grace,while ours is to take a hold of it!

The next part of the opening verse says, “…and“…and thethe giftgiftofof righteousness….”righteousness….” The definite article is used because it’sthe same gift of righteousness for everyone. We all receivedthe same gift of righteousness, and no one is more righteousthan the other: “Even“Even thethe righteousnessrighteousness ofof GodGod whichwhich isis bybyfaithfaith ofof JesusJesus ChristChrist untounto allall andand uponupon allall themthem thatthat believe:believe:forfor therethere isis nono difference”difference” (Romans 3:22).

SSolomon’s extraordinary amplitude and sagacity ofmind inspired many in his day, and left them in awe.

He was celebrated as the wisest man that ever lived, untilJesus. The Bible says all Israel revered and admired Solomonbecause of the manifestation of the wisdom of God in his life:“And“And allall IsraelIsrael heardheard ofof thethe judgmentjudgment whichwhich thethe kingking hadhadjudged;judged; andand theythey fearedfeared thethe king:king: forfor theythey sawsaw thatthat thethewisdomwisdom ofof GodGod waswas inin him,him, toto dodo judgment”judgment” (1 Kings 3:28).

Now, how did Solomon get his wisdom? God gave itto him; and He did it through words. He said to Solomon,“...I“...I havehave givengiven theethee aa wisewise andand anan understandingunderstanding heart...”heart...” (1Kings 3:12); that was all. He didn’t try to “fix” anything intoSolomon’s head to make him wise; He didn’t even touch him.He only spoke words, and Solomon believed and began tomanifest wisdom.

However, when Jesus came, He said, “A greater thanSolomon is here,” referring to Himself (Matthew 12:42, Luke11:31). This Jesus, the Bible says, has been made unto uswisdom from God; meaning that Christ is your wisdom. Thismakes you also, “a greater than Solomon.” You have“phronesis” (Greek), which is the wisdom of the just; practicalwisdom; a fixed mental attitude or programming of the mindto reason, respond, interpret situations, and behave in acertain way, usually, the most excellent way!

Not only has God told you this by the Holy Spirit,He also wrote it down in the Scriptures that He has madeyou wise! Christ has become your excellent wisdom. This

DDid you know that you can manage your mind?That’s what renewing the mind is about. You can

get into your mind and decipher what files need to be“deleted,” and what files need to be “downloaded” andinstalled, as it were. You can determine what changes tomake in the structure of your thinking; that’s mindmanagement; it’s the primary principle for increasing yourvalue, multiplying your success and upgrading your state.

Where you are today is a function of your mind. Yourpersonality is the expression of your mind, and as a Christian,you must learn to manage your mind. If you don’t manageyour mind, it’ll keep giving you what it already has stored up,good or bad. Sometimes people ask, “What more can I do?I’ve tried hard about this; I’ve prayed and fasted; I’ve donethis and that, and I still haven’t had much success.” Manageyour mind.

Our opening scripture says, “…be“…be yeye transformedtransformed bybythethe renewingrenewing ofof youryour mind,mind, thatthat yeye maymay proveprove whatwhat isis thatthatgood,good, andand acceptable,acceptable, andand perfect,perfect, willwill ofof God.”God.” That meansyou have the responsibility to transform your life from gloryto glory; you have the responsibility to manage your mind

to produce excellence. God expects this of you; He instructsyou to do it because He has put the ability within you forthat purpose. Your life: How you live, what you do, thecharacter of your words, the totality of your personality, is theexpression of your mind.

What changes do you want to make? What morewould you like to add to, or take out of, your life? Youcan achieve these by renewing your mind with the Word,synchronizing your thoughts with the Spirit of God. The Biblesays as a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7).You’re the character of your thoughts; therefore, manageyour mind to produce excellence.

IIt’s possible for someone to have so much ability or begifted with a certain skill, yet when such a skill is

required, that individual isn’t chosen, because he or shedoesn’t have the right character. If you’d build your mind anddevelop the right mental structures, sooner or later, you’ll seethe manifestations in your personality. “Mental structure” inthis context, doesn’t mean imaginations and reasoning; rather,it means attitudes that you’ve cultivated over time that controlyour actions.

For instance, someone may have a great voice buthe’s unable to make good music. Not because his voiceisn’t fantastic, but because he’s not trained and disciplinedto make the most of his gift. We read about Reuben in ouropening scripture. Reuben’s character and ability collided. Hewas the beginning of Jacob’s strength, the excellence of hiswisdom. That means Jacob invested so much in him, but hewas unstable as water; therefore, he wasn’t going to excel.

The Hebrew word for “unstable” is “Pachaz,” whichalso means frothiness, to be unrestrained and undisciplined.Reuben was undependable as foamy water. He had the abilityto be someone influential and prosperous, but his characterwouldn’t let him excel.

Cultivate An ExcellentCharacter

The ability to take on more assignments because ofyour performance is an excellent character. That means,you’re dependable and when there’s an innovation to beactualized, you readily come to mind. But there’re those whoare never thought of, to handle responsibilities, because theyaren’t dependable.

Become the best of you by cultivating the rightcharacter. Inside you are hidden treasures; you came intothis world with a unique personality. There’s something youpossess that nobody else in the whole world has; hence it’simportant to find your place, and be the best of that peculiaryou.

OObserve our profound description in the verse wejust read: we’re chosen, royal and peculiar;

chosen to be the expression of God’s righteousness, and themanifestation of His glory in the earth. We’re God’s best, andthere’s so much He has deposited within our spirits to blessthe world with.

In Genesis 12:2, He said to Abram, “…I“…I willwill makemakeofof theethee aa greatgreat nation,nation, andand II willwill blessbless thee,thee, andand makemake thythynamename great;great; andand thouthou shaltshalt bebe aa blessing.”blessing.” You’re the seed ofAbraham, because the Bible says in Galatians 3:29 that “…if“…ifyeye bebe Christ’s,Christ’s, thenthen areare yeye Abraham’sAbraham’s seed....”seed....” Therefore, notonly are you blessed, you’re also a blessing. You carry theblessing with you. Everything you touch is blessed, as well asall those who are connected with you.

Contemplate for a moment on your peculiar attributesand heritage in Christ! The Bible says you’re God’sworkmanship (Ephesians 2:10), His handiwork—crafted forexcellence. You’ve been thoroughly furnished with everythingyou need to live victoriously and be an extraordinary success.So don’t try to be somebody else. Become satisfied with whoyou are, and with the fact that God loves you, and He’s happyto have you.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worshiphim in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

TThe Bible teaches that man is a spirit; he has a souland lives in a body. With his spirit, he relates with

the spirit-realm, the realm of his actual existence. With hisbody, he makes contact with the material world, and with hissoul he contacts the intellectual realm.

Many people have never understood the differencebetween the mind and the spirit; they think the mind is thespirit, but they’re not the same. When you were born again,it wasn’t your body or your mind that was born again; it wasyour spirit. The Bibles says, “...if“...if anyany manman bebe inin Christ,Christ, hehe isisaa newnew creation”creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17) it’s your spirit that’s inChrist; that’s the real you; that’s the man that relates withGod.

The Lord Jesus said God is a Spirit, and those whoworship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth. Thissimply means worshipping God from the heart according tothe Word which is truth. We understand the things of Godfrom our spirit. Romans 10:10 says “…with“…with thethe heartheart (i.e(i.e spirit)spirit)manman believethbelieveth untounto righteousness….”righteousness….”

Then based on that relationship, we condition ourminds to go in the same direction, and condition our sensesto function likewise. So, you’re to control your mind and yoursenses from your spirit. That means, the character that youexpress outwardly depends on the condition of your spiritwhich is your heart.

That’s why we need the Spirit of God to guide us,because only the Holy Spirit can get deep into the humanheart to effect the changes that God wants in us: changes

Now, if this means that no matter what you face in this world,you’d conquer, that would have been wonderful. But it meansmuch more than that. It means you’ve gone past conquering,because you conquered a long time ago—in Christ! You’renow living in the victory of Christ! When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There islifting up… (Job 22:29).

TThe challenges of our day may be enormous, butamidst so much inflation, rising cost of living, you

can still say, “When men are cast down, I am lifted up.” Whenyou begin to feel the pressure and the economic squeeze,don’t complain; that’s the time to make the Word work. Getinto your closet and begin to declare your prosperity andabundance in Christ. Proclaim that you’re the seed ofAbraham; an heir of God, and a joint-heir with Christ.

When you have sufficiently proclaimed the Word overyour situation, those confessions will dominate your senses,such that when you’re asked, “How are you?” you’ll say,“Great things are happening! Good things are coming myway today!” Halleluiah. If you don’t talk the Word, the systemof this world will overwhelm you, and you’ll be a victim inlife. With the Word in your mouth, you’ll blaze through everybarrier in life.

An important principle you need to learn that’ll helpyou grow bigger financially is letting your mind soar beyondthe prevailing economic situation around you. Think how bigGod is. Think about the whole world as yours, for it’s indeedyours: “...For“...For allall thingsthings areare yours”yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21). Learnthe value of meditating on the Word of God; it’ll give youan extraordinary mind-set, such that you’re unperturbed inaustere times.

Let the Word of God enlarge your vision. Refuse tosee lack and want. Look beyond the horizon. Your prosperityshould be born of the Word in spite of circumstances. Isaacprospered in the midst of harsh economic conditions. In a

those who aren’t rooted and grounded in the Word. The LordJesus referred to this in Luke 21:25-26 when He describedsome of the signs of the end of the age. You’re to stand your ground in faith, irrespective of thechallenges and hardships in the world. Refuse to give up orgive in to the pressures of life. The Word says in Ephesians6:13-16, “…having“…having donedone all,all, toto stand.stand. With your shield of faith, you have the inherent abilityto completely neutralize all (not some) of the fiery darts ofthe enemy. When he throws the dart of fear at you, declare,“I refuse to fear, because the greater One lives in me!” If it’sthe dart of sickness, say, “I refuse to be sick; my body is thetemple of the Holy Spirit!”

Instead, say, “I’ll get it right next time.” Then givemore attention to studying and meditating on the Word, andact your faith at every opportunity. That’s how you train yourfaith to grow and accomplish bigger things.

This isn’t only applicable to your finances, but to everyarea of life. You can train your faith with the Word to prevailagainst all odds and adversities of life.

Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall standbefore kings; he shall not stand before mean men

(Proverbs 22:29).

DDiligence is the ability to exercise carefulness,persistence, and determination in ensuring

excellence in any endeavour. It is giving the degree of carethat’s required in a given situation. You’re diligent when youemploy commitment and perseverance in transforming visioninto reality. Those are two key elements of diligence:commitment and perseverance. The Lord expects this of us incarrying out all that He instructs us to do.

A diligent person puts his very best into what he orshe does, and pays attention to details to achieve perfection.When you’re diligent, God promotes you and brings you tothe place of influence and authority. That’s what we read inour opening verse: you’ll stand before kings and not ordinarymen.

Consider David: his diligence and faith in tending hisfather’s “few sheep” (1 Samuel 17:28) eventually gave himthe required training and experience, paving the way for himto defeat Goliath of Gath, and be the champion for Israel.

Read about him in 1 Samuel 17, and you’d realize howdiligent he was in taking care of his father’s sheep. When hisfather sent him to the battlefront to enquire how his brotherswere faring, the Bible tells us specifically that David left thesheep with a keeper (1 Samuel 17:20). He didn’t say, “Well,it’s only a short distance; I’ll be back in no time” and ran off;no. He got someone to tend the sheep while he was away;

that’s being diligent. No wonder he was chosen of God to beking over Israel.

If you study the lives of successful men and womenall around the world, no matter in which field, you’ll discoverone common factor in their lives—diligence. It’s one vitalingredient for success that you must practise, both in yourpersonal life, and in spiritual things also. Be diligent in prayer,study of the Word, and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Thesewill enrich you spiritually; you’ll become successful in yourspirit, where true success really resides.

did nothing without the Holy Spirit. In the verse above, Heidentifies the Holy Spirit as the Father that dwells in Him. InJohn 5:19, He said, “…The“…The SonSon cancan dodo nothingnothing byby himself,himself, butbutwhatwhat hehe seethseeth thethe FatherFather do:do: forfor whatwhat thingsthings soeversoever hehe doeth,doeth,thesethese alsoalso doethdoeth thethe SonSon likewise.”likewise.” He acknowledged theHoly Spirit as the Father in Him, and the doer of the work.That’s a fact you must recognize in your life as a Christian.

The Holy Spirit in you is your key to extraordinary andabsolute success. None of those who walked with Him asrevealed in the Scriptures was ever defeated; none was afailure. Everyone who received Him gained the mastery, andbecame the champion. Many in the Church today need toknow for sure who the Holy Spirit is, and His ministry intheir lives. He is Himself God. He’s the active power of theGodhead. To have Him in you is to be made for life.

Having received the Holy Spirit to live in you, be inconstant fellowship with Him. Listen to Him and act on HisWord. Recognize that He’s a person, and He lives inside you,mingled with your spirit. If there’s anything I know, it’s myfellowship with the Holy Spirit; that’s where my confidence is.When I fellowship with Him, my limitations are removed; I’mconscious that He has made me a victor and a winner for life.

That’s why He wants you to guard your heart with alldiligence. That means you should carefully andconscientiously watch and guard what goes into your heart.

Think about an orange seed; that seed carries all thepotentials of an orange tree. When you place it in the rightenvironment, it’ll produce roots, stem, branches, leaves, andfinally several orange fruits, with many more seeds in them.Such extraordinary potentials are programmed into a littleseed.

Now, God tells you to diligently guard your heartbecause there’re things that can come into your heart tochange or destroy His programming of good and excellencein you. On the other hand, there’re things that can come intoyour heart to enable, enhance, and sustain all the gloriousthings He’s already programmed into your life. God’s purposein your life is programmed into your heart. OOne of the beauties of God’s Word is itspracticability. You can practise the Word in any

area of your life, and it’ll produce lasting results. For example,our opening verse that we just read: this should be somethingyou practise consciously. Some people are not easy to beentreated when they’re angry; they cast off all restraints andeven hold the grudge for a long time. Don’t be that way; usethe Word to deal with anger.

Not allowing the sun to go down upon your wrathmeans if you’re angry about something, you deal with it rightaway, that same day. Never find yourself still angry aboutthe same thing for a protracted period. The Bible says angerdwells in the bosom of fools (Ecclesiastes 7:9) and you’re nota fool.

Unrestrained anger is a satanic manipulation you mustnot give room for in your life. People who pander to suchanger give opportunity for the demon of anger to take a holdof their minds. In walking with the Lord, one of the thingsHe seeks to accomplish is to have His love fully expressedthrough you, such that you’re meek, kind and not easilyprovoked. Nobody with a bad temper ever succeedspermanently in life.

Remember Moses, God testified of him to be themeekest man on the face of the earth (Numbers 12:3).Nevertheless, when Moses yielded to anger, it cost him hisministry.

God had told him to speak to the rock to bring outwater for the children of Israel (Numbers 20:8), but becausehe was angry at the stubbornness of the Israelites, Mosesstruck the rock twice. Water still came out, however, but Godwasn’t pleased (Numbers 20:11). He then said to Moses,“Forthis reason you will not take the children of Israel into thePromised Land” (Numbers 20:12). Moses was “fired” becauseof his anger.

Offences will come, according to the Bible; people willdo things that may hurt or offend you, but never allow angerprovoke and make you react in a way that you’ll regret. Stayin the Word and walk in love.

In Acts 26, we read about Saul of Tarsus, who on hisway to Damascus had an encounter with the Lord.
