DLW Supplied second consignment of locomotives exporting to Myanmar Railways
In the current financial year, Diesel Locomotive Works has received export order of 18
state-of-the-art meter gauge 1350 HP locomotives from Myanmar Railways. The second
consignment of six locomotives of this export order was supplied to Myanmar Railways on 15 th
October during the stipulated time period. These locomotives will reach Kolkata Port through
trailers by road and then the locomotives will shipped to Myanmar. It is mentionable here that
earlier, DLW had exported the first consignment of 06 locomotives to Myanmar Railways on 17th
June, 2017.
These locomotives are equipped with
Microprocessor Control System, TFT Monitor
(Display Unit), Roof Mounted DBR etc. The
remaining 06 locomotives are under manufacturing
and will be exported to Myanmar Railways till
November, 2017.
In addition, DLW has also received export order of 10 state-of-the-art broad gauge 3000 HP
locomotives from Sri Lanka Railways. It is the very first time, when the above locomotives would
be manufactured on High Horse Power Loco Platform in DLW. DLW has planned to export these
locomotives in the year 2018-19.
DLW Stall at International Railway Equipment Exhibition
The 12th International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE)-2017 was organised by the
Confederation of Indian Industries in association with Indian Railways from 11 to 13 October at
Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Japan Quality Railways was
the major partner country of the exhibition. The
exhibition was followed by seminar as well as and
buyer-seller meet for interacting with the
representatives of Indian Industries to develop and
supply the rolling stock components and equipments to
meet Railway's requirements.
DLW as well as other production units of Indian Railway participated in this exhibition along
with Zonal Railways and various Railway equipment manufacturing units from public and private
sectors like Daulat Ram, BEML, Bharat Forge and so many foreign companies like M/s Larsen &
Toubro, ABB, Siemens etc. also displayed their
products and activities in this exhibition. DLW also
established a beautiful stall in the above exhibition and
highlighted its products and the facts from
manufacturing to export of Diesel Locomotives to
various countries like Tanzania, Vietnam, Sri Lanka,
Bangladesh, Sudan, Angola etc. Shri Vijay Prakash
Pathak, General Manager inaugurated the DLW Stall on
11th October, in presence of Shri Anil Kumar Singh, Chief Design Engineer. The well planned
decoration attracted visitors to watch the exhibition of DLW's working through Pictures, Translides,
Loco models and Documentary film on DLW with great
treat. The working model of High Horse Power WDP4D
locomotive at DLW stall was the centre of attraction for
the visitors and the displayed loco components which
are to be get developed by the industry were of great
importance for the vendors, supplying railway
equipments. All the interesting aspects of DLW have
been vividly explained at IREE-2017.
During the three day exhibition, Shri Ashwani Lohani, Chairman, Shri Ghanshyam Singh,
Member/Traction as well as large number of visitors visited the DLW stall. Visiting the Stall they
appreciated the decoration theme and sequence of displayed exhibits and put their valuable
remarks in the visitor book.
Special Cleanliness Drive on Gandhi Jayanti – 'National Cleanliness Day'
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated as the National Cleanliness Day at Diesel Locomotive Works
by all officers, employees and their family members on 02nd October, 2017. On this occasion, Shri
Vijay Prakash Pathak, General Manager along with Shri
Y.B.Shahare, Chief Quality Assurance Manager, Shri
Sanjay Katiyar, Chief Mechanical Engineer/Material, Shri
A.K.Singh, Chief Design Engineer, Shri R.R.Prasad, Chief
Project Manager/Mod. as well as other HODs, officers,
Joint Secy./Staff Council Shri V.D.Dubey & members and
employees took part in Special Cleanliness Drive at Surya Sarovar. Earlier, GM Shri Pathak
administered the oath of awareness towards the cleanliness to the officers and employees.
On the occasion of National Cleanliness Day,
massive cleanliness drive was launched at Surya
Sarovar, DLW Workshop, Township and Officers' Club
by DLW officers & employees. Railway Protection Force
as well as the volunteers of Civil Defence and Bharat
Scouts & Guides also took active part in this drive.
To mark the Gandhi Jayanti celebration, Sarva Dharma Prarthana Sabha and Swachchhata
Jagran Rally were organised at DLW Inter College by DLW Bharat Scouts & Guides.

Durga Pooja and Vijaya Dashami festival at DLW
Vijaya Dashami festival was celebrated in DLW
Township on 30th September at DLW Stadium, which was
attended by huge crowd. The programme started on that
day with the offering of Poojan & Arti to Bhagavan Shri Ram,
Sita & Laxman by Shri Vijay Prakash Pathak, General
Manager accompanied by Smt. Rekha Pathak, President,
DLW Women’s Welfare Organisation, Shri Surendra Narayan
Singh, Hon'ble Member of Legislative Assambly, Shri Manoj
Kumar, Chief Personnel Officer & Executive President of Vijaya Dashami Samiti, Shri Ashok Kumar
Singh, Ex. Chief Mechanical Engineer and office bearers of Vijaya Dashami Samiti.
On this occasion depicting the various characters of
Ramleela, children of DLW family enacted the excerpts from
the epic Ramayan as well as beautiful & attractive fireworks
and burning of effigies of Ravan, Kumbhakaran & Meghnad
were also displayed. The vote of thanks proposed by Shri
Mahesh Pratap Singh, Convenor, Vijaya Dashami Samiti. On
this occasion Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Ram
Krishna Bhardwaj, officers, employees, their families, friends as well as civil authorities of Varanasi
including distinguished persons of the city were present in a large number.
Durga Pooja was also celebrated in Community Hall
and Shiva Kali Mandir at DLW Township with traditional
gaiety and religious fervour. On this occasion, Maa Durga
idols were installed in tastefully decorated Pandals. During
the Navaratri, Maha-Sasthi, Maha-Saptami, Maha-Astami
and Maha-Navami puja and other rituals were performed
with great enthusiasm. The festival concluded with the
immersion of Maa Durga idols in Ganga Sarovar. On this
occasion different colourful cultural programmes were also organised at Community Hall and Shiva
Kali Mandir. During the Vijaya Dashami and Durga Pooja festival DLW R.P.F., Civil Defence, St.
Johan's Ambulance Brigade, Scouts & Guides and other social service organisations also extended
their co-operation in seating arrangement, tracing out and handing over of the missing children to
their parents and control the gathering.
Vishwakarma Puja
As in past, the poojanotsav of the god of the
craft, art and creation Lord Vishwakarma was
celebrated this year too at Diesel Locomotive Works on
17th September. On this holy occasion, decorating their
shops and workplaces tastefully with flowers and
colourful paper clippings, DLW employees installed
beautiful and attractive portraits of Lord Vishwakarma
there. They offered pooja and aarti to Lord
Vishwakarma with performing proper rituals.
On this occasion, Suneet Sharma, Chief Mechanical Engineer along with S/Shri Yogesh
Mohan, Chief Mechanical Engineer/Production, A.K.Singh, Chief Design Engineer, Naresh Kumar,
Chief Mechanical Engineer/Plant, Nitin Mehrotra, Dy. Genral Manager & Chief Public Relations
Officer, Jitendra Agarwal, Dy. Chief Mecanical Engineer/Planning,
other officers, their family members and friends visited various shops
in the workshop area and other workplaces in the township, where
employees welcomed them with enthusiasm. Offering poojan and aarti
to Lord Vishwakarma, they actively participated in Pujanotsav and
received Prasad.
It is mentionable here that to contribute at a large in the
clean ganga campaign, this year also DLW family installed the
portraits of Lord Viswakarma in place of clay idols at
Vishwakarma Poojanotsav as per previous year.
On this occasion, a large fair was visible at DLW premises and workshop, where DLW
officers, employees, their families & friends enjoyed the fair as well as witnessed and offered
poojan to the beautifully decorated attractive tableau of Lord Vishwakarma in various shops at
workshop and township.
Rajbhasha Pakhwada Samaroh
Under the auspices of Diesel Locomotive Works Rajbhasha Department, RajbhashaPakhwada Samaroh-2017 was organised from 07th to 20th September with variety of programmes.The Main function of the fortnight long programmes was a seminar on "Vaishvik Sandarbha
Mein Rajbhasha Hindi" held on 16th Septemberat Technical Training Centre auditorium. On thisoccasion, the guest speaker Prof. Shraddhanand,Director, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, NTPCcampus, Shakthnagar & Ex. Head, HindiDepartment, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith,Varanasi said that official language Hindi is apowerful weapon for defeating imperialism. Weshould not forget that we are Indians and Hindilanguage is identification of Indianness. Hindi hadplay an important role in freedom struggle as alanguage of communication and contact. Referringto the current state of Hindi, he said that languagesof any country identifies cultural heritage, but we
feel proud to be able to study and teach English, that makes our situation outrageous. This is avery good thing that we should have knowledge of maximum languages, but we should not bepride for English by leaving our language.
On this occasion, presiding over the seminar, Shri V.P.Pathak, General Manager said thatthe system-network of information technology has made easy to access the every person in everynook and corner of the world very fast. Despite being an industrial unit, maximum office work andcorrespondence is being done in Hindi at DLW. We are committed to ensure the cent-percentcompliance of Rajbhasha Hindi in administrative work. Earlier, Shri Pathak also gave away awards
to 67 officers and employees for winning various Hindi competitions, as well as for doing excellentand maximum work in Hindi.
Earlier, welcoming the guests and speakers in seminar Shri Jai Narayan Pandey, MukhyaRajbhasha Adhikari focussed upon the fortnight long programmes and said that in the era ofglobalisation, not only in India but throughout the world our Rajbhasha Hindi has been hoisting itsflag, which assure us that the future of Hindi is safe.
The programme started with the lighting of lamp by GM Shri Pathak along with guestspeaker Prof. Shraddhanand, Chief Mechanical Engineer Shri Suneet Sharma, Chief PersonnelOfficer Shri Manoj Kumar and Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari Shri Pandey jointly. On this occasion,S/Shri R.R.Jha, CMgM, S.K.Jain, CMM/Loco, P.Hariprasad, FA&CAO/TOT, Maman Singh, CMM/HQ,R.R.Prasad, CPM/Mod. as well as other officers and employees were present in a large number.Shri Shri Bhagawan Pandey, Rajbhasha Adhikari conducted the whole programme efficiently andShri Vinod Kumar Srivastava, Varishth Anuvaadak proposed the vote of thanks.
The fortnight long programme included Symposiums for supervisors and nodal officers, QuizCompetitions of officers and employees, Indian Language Seminar, Technical Seminar on Safety,Rajbhasha Workshops, Inter School Antakshari Competition etc.
Bulk Indent Meeting for High Horse Power Locomotives at DLW
To discuss the requirement of Zonal Railways for imported and indigenous vital spares forthe year 2019-2020, two day Annual Bulk Indent Meeting for High Horse Power (HHP) locomotiveswas organised on 15th September at Hall of Fame. Addressing the delegates of Railway Board,Zonal Railways and RDSO, Shri Ghanshyam SinghMember/Traction, Railway Board expressingsatisfaction over the smooth supply of the spare partsof HHP locomotives to Zonal Railways, he emphasisedon to increase the reliability and availability oflocomotives. He expressed concern over the shortageof sources of supply of equipments for high horsepower locomotives and also focused upon the commonfaults and problems occurring in the spare parts oflocomotives. Besides he also stressed the need todevelop the new sources of the spares of HHPlocomotives to ensure their quality and uninterruptedsupply as well as fast disposal. He advised that the suppliers of these spare parts should be treatedas partners and said that in case of failure of spares, joint inspection should be carried out withthem to find out the appropriate solution of the problem and to establish the reasons of failure.
Welcoming the representatives from Railway Board, Zonal Railways and RDSO ShriV.P.Pathak, General Manager said that DLW continuously increasing the production of HHPlocomotives as well as electrical locomotives. He asked the Zonal Railways to give feedbackregarding the performance of these locomotives regularly, so that on the basis of availableinformations, quality spares could be supplied to them. He also assured that DLW will extend itsfull support to Zonal Railways in seeking out of their problems.
Addressing representatives of the meeting Shri Ashok Kumar Singh, Chief MechanicalEngineer threw light upon the efforts of DLW for the development of new locomotives andincreasing the production, he said that besides the production, we are in efforts to develop the newsources of the spare parts of these locomotives to ensure their uninterrupted supply. He advisedthe Zonal Railways to send the indents well in time for the supply of spares.
Speaking on this occasion, Shri Suneet Sharma,Chief Mechanical Engineer threw light on the effortsbeing made by the Stores Department to maintain thesupply chain of spares for the HHP locomotives to theZonal Railways according to their demand and assuredthem of improving the supply of it. On this occasion,Shri V.K.Agarwal, Addl. Member/Electrical, RailwayBoard focussed in detail on the general deficienciesfound in spares of HHP locomotives and emphasisedon improving their quality and supply. In the meeting,DLW’s HODs as well as representatives of ZonalRailways expressed their views and submitted their
demand of spares for the year 2017-18. Earlier, welcoming the officers and representatives ofZonal Railways Shri Sanjay Katiyar, CME/M apprised of them about the improvements being madein the supply of spares of high horse power locomotives and two day schedule/minutes of themeeting. Senior officials of Railway Board, RDSO and Zonal Railways participated in this meeting.On this occasion, the suppliers of spare parts of high horse power locomotives also apprised aboutthe development of new components to the delegates through presentation.
During the meeting, the demand and supply of spare parts, warranty claims and othervarious technical issues related to high horse power locomotives were discussed with ZonalRailways.
Member/Traction, Railway Board flagged-off 425th Dual Cab HHP Locomotive
Shri Ghanshyam Singh, Member/Traction, Railway Board flagged-off flower bedecked 425th
Dual Cab HHP Diesel Locomotive decorated in resplendent colour scheme at Diesel Locomotive
Works Loco Assembly Shop on 15th September, 2017 with proper ritual.
Before flagging-off he inspected the driver cab of
above locomotive along with Shri V.P.Pathak, General
Manager, DLW and other principal officers. During the
inspection of locomotive Shri Singh was appraised about
the salient features of the locomotive by General
Manager Shri Pathak and Chief Mechanical Engineer Shri
Suneet Sharma. This dual cab 4500 HP locomotive no
40510 is being pressed in to service at Siliguri Diesel
Shed of Northeast Frontier Railway.
Expressing satisfaction over the development
and progress of manufacturing of locomotive,
Member/Traction declared a group reward of ` 25000/-
for DLW employees.
During the visit he also inspected under
manufactured Locomotive for Myanmar and newly
manufactured electrical locomotive. Shri Yogesh
Mohan, Chief Mecanical Engineer/Production conducted the whole programme efficiently.
On this occasion, Member/Traction also met Staff Council members and received
memorandum from them.

DLW received world class ISO 3834-2:2005 certificate for welding
For its high-standard welding technology, Diesel
Locomotive Works, Varanasi received world class ISO 3834-
2:2005 certificate from "Quality Council of International
Certification UK Ltd., London, England" on 29th August, which is
valid till August, 2020.
Before given this certification, the auditors of the company
has routine studied all aspects of welding including the knowledge
of welders, welding machines, electrodes, wire flax, shielding gas,
welding materials, joint quality and welding process. After receiving this certificate, the quality of
the welding in DLW, which was already excellent, has now been certified globally. With receipt this
certificate, the confidence among the Non-Railway Customers would be also increased in the field
of welding quality in DLW, which will be helpful to getting supply order of locomotives in near
future.
Inter Railway Hindi Natyotsav
As per the directive of Railway Board, under the jointauspices of DLW Cutural Association & Rajbhasha Department,Inter Railway Hindi Natyotsav was organized from 22nd to 24th
August at Auditorium (Cinema Hall). The function started on22nd August with the lighting of lamp jointly by chief guest ShriSuneet Sharma, Chief Mechanical Engineer as well as otherHODs along with renowned theatrical geniuses Dr. RajendraUpadhyay, Shri Narendra Acharya and Dr. Anupam Aanand. 15teams of Zonal Railways & Production Units of whole IndianRailways were participated in this competition.
The Natyotsav concluded with various colourful cultural programme and prize distribution on24th August. Shri Vijay Prakash Pathak, General Manager was the chief guest and Smt. RekhaPathak, President, DLW Women's Welfare Organisation was the guest of honour who gave away tothe winner teams and individual performers. In which, host DLW (Saarthi) got first place, EasternRailway, Kolkata (Chandra KiSazaa) and South East CentralRailway, Bilaspur (Ashwatthama)got second and third placerespectively. Apart from this,Central Railway, Mumbai(Rajbhasha Hazir Ho…), Diesel LocoModernisation Workshop, Patiala(Sandhya Chhaya), East CoastRailway, Bhuvaneswar (Inquilab),North Western Railway, Jaipur(Mahangey Jootey Sastey Sir) andSouthern Railway, Chennai (Ridh KiHaddi) received consolation prizeseach.
The individual prizes given to Shri Niraj Upadhyay, DLW (Saarthi) as best director, ShriNiraj Upadhyay, DLW (Saarthi) as best actor, Tanushri Biswas, Eastern Railway, Kolkata (ChandraKi Sazaa) as best actress, Shri Somnath Chattopadhyay, Eastern Railway, Kolkata (Chandra KiSazaa) as best supporting actor, best supporting actress Meera Sikdar, North Eastern Railway,Gorakhpur (Band) as best supporting actress. Apart from this, other individual prizes were alsogiven, like Shri Rajkumar Gupta, Metro Rail, Kolkata (Paaras Patthar) for best music, Sonia Parwa,South East Central Railway, Bilaspur (Ashwatthama) for best sound effect, Central Railway,Mumbai (Rajbhasha Hazir Ho…) for best stage decoration, Central Railway, Mumbai (RajbhashaHazir Ho…) for best lighting, Metro Rail, Kolkata (Paaras Patthar) for best costume design and RailCoach Factory, Kapurthala (Aakhir Ye Bhedbhaav Kyun) as best makeup. Similarly, the prizes givento Shri Shyam Kumar of South Cenrtal Railway, Sicunderabad (Auron Ke Paas, Apnon Se Door) forbest pronuncication, Shri Umesh Tripathi of Chitarnjan Locomotive Works, Chitaranjan (Aatmaja)for best script writing, Preyasi Sanmat of of Chitarnjan Locomotive Works, Chitaranjan (Aatmaja)for best child actor and Shri Navin Bhatt of Modern Coach Factory, Raibarely (Railway Station) forSpecific acting.
Presiding over the function, Shri S.P.Mahi, Executive Director/Establishment (R.), RailwayBoard expressed his views as well as felicitated the chief guest and guest of honour Shri & Smt.Pathak along with judges by presenting them mementos. On this occasion, Shri Manoj Kumar,Chief Personnel Officer & President, DLW Cultural Association, Shri J.N.Pandey, Principal FinancialAdvisor & Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari, Shri V.K.Srivastava, Principal Chief Materials Manager,other HODs, Shri Amit Sinha, Secy., DLW Cultural Association, other officers, Staff Councilmembers and employees were present in a large number. Shri K.P.Satyanandan,Director/Rajbhasha, Railway board proposed the vote of thanks and Shri R.K.Chaudhari, Sr.Personnel Officer/Headquarter, Shri Amlesh Srivastava & Smt. Shravani Chakraborty conducted thewhole programme efficiently.
Communal Harmony Day at DLW
Communal Harmony Day was observed on
19th August at DLW. On this occasion, Shri Vijay
Prakash Pathak, General Manager administered the
Communal Harmony pledge to the officers and
employees. S/Shri Y.B.Shahare, Chief Quality
Assurance Manager, V.K.Srivastava, Principal Chief
Metarial Manager, Manoj Kumar, Chief Personnel
Officer, A.K.Singh, Chief Design Engineer, Maman Singh, Chief Metarial Manager/Headquarter,
M.K.Agarwal, Chief Metarial Manager/Engine as well as other officers, Staff Council members and
employees took the pledge in a large number to maintain communal harmony and peaceful co-
existence in the society without any distinction of caste, creed, area, religion and language.
In this connection, officers and employees in Technical Training Centre, Design Office,
different Shops at Workshop area, Stores/Depot and other Offices inside the Workshop, Hospital
and work places at Colony area also took communal harmony pledge.
Independence Day Celebration at DLW
71st Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August, 2017 at
DLW Stadium with the presentation of colourful cultural programme by
the children of DLW based schools. The programme started with the
hoisting of National Flag by Chief Mechanical Engineer Shri Suneet
Sharma, followed by the inspection of parade of Railway Protection
Force, St. John’s Ambulance Brigade, Civil Defence, Bharat Scouts,
Guide, Cubs, Bulbuls and Inter College Scouts & Guides. On this
occasion, focussing upon the contribution and sacrifices of freedom
fighters for the independence of the country Shri Sharma highlighted
the production and other activities of DLW including achievements of all the departments of DLW.
In this function, chief guest Shri Sharma
distributed the prizes to the meritorious students of DLW
Inter College. Shri Sharma also distributed the needed
equipments to the DIVYANG employees and their
DIVYANG dependents.
The programme concluded with the distribution of
fruit packets to the indoor patients of DLW Central
Hospital by chief guest Shri Sharma, members of DLW
Women's Welfare Organisation, principal officers and
members of Staff Council.
To mark the occasion, Shri Ram Janam Chaubey, Principal hoisted the Tricolour at Technical
Training Centre in presence of Instructors and Trainees.

Chairman, Railway Board flagged-off 2200th HHP Locomotive
Shri A.K.Mital, Chairman, Railway Board flagged-off 2200th HHP Diesel Locomotive in asimple ceremony held at Diesel Locomotive Works Loco Assembly Shop on 29 th July, 2017. Thislocomotive is specially equipped with Insulation Material for Noise Reduction, which is applied Heatand Sound Absorb, Fire Proof, Light weight and Elastomer Composite as well as protects insulationfrom oil and lubricants soaking.
Before flagging-off he inspected the driver cab ofabove locomotive along with Shri V.P.Pathak, GeneralManager, DLW and other principal officers. During theinspection of locomotive Shri Mital was appraised aboutthe salient features of the locomotive by GeneralManager Shri Pathak and Chief Mechanical Engineer ShriSuneet Sharma. This dual cab 4500 HP locomotive no40486 is being pressed in to service at Samastipur DieselShed of East Central Railway.
Expressing happiness over the performance of DLW, Hon’ble Chairman said that as aprecursor in production and technology, DLW showed its competence to cope up with the changingdemands of its customers. Shri Mital expressed satisfaction over the progress of Expansion Projectand the development of dual mode locomotive by DLW.
On this occasion, Hon'ble Chairman inauguratednewly built ultra-model Loco Paint Shop. As well as healso inspected under manufactured Locomotive forMyanmar and newly manufactured electrical locomotive.Shri Amlesh Srivastava conducted the whole programmeefficiently.
Thereafter, Hon'ble Chairman held a reviewmeeting with S/Shri V.P.Pathak, General Manager,Suneet Sharma, CME and other HODs in Conference Hall,where he witnessed presentation on production activities,ongoing projects and future developmental plans of DLW.
On this occasion, Hon’ble Chairman also met Joint Secy., Staff Council Shri Vishnu DevDubey & members S/Shri T.K.Mukesh, Pradeep Kumar Yadav, Vinod Kumar Singh, Naveen KmuarSinha as well as the representatives of other employees associations and office bearers ofSC/ST/OBC Association and received memorandum from them.
The visit concluded with a brief colourful cultural programme presented by DLW artists,which was highly appreciated by Hon'ble Chairman & other officers.
Lecture/Workshop on Goods & Service Tax (GST)
Under the auspices of DLW Accounts
Department a Lecture/Workshop was organized on
Goods & Service Tax (GST) "GST-An Overview" at
Technical Training Centre Auditorium on 25th July.
Presiding over the workshop, General Manager Shri V.P.
Pathak said that GST is being known as the modern
economic revolution of India. Of course, it will benefit
the country, Indian Railways and DLW.
On this occasion, Shri Vivek Agarwal and Shri Himanshu Tiberbal, Chartered Accountants of
M/s Habibullah and Co. delivered lecture about GST like- introduction, benefits, misconceptions as
well as comparative description of rates of different commodities. Thereafter, both Chartered
Accountants also resolved the curiosities and doubts of the officers and employees.
Earlier, the programme started with lighting of lamp by General Manager Shri Pathak,
Principal Financial Advisor Shri J.N.Pandey, Principal Chief Material Manager Shri V.K.Srivastava
and both lecturers jointly. On this occasion, S/Shri

Meeting of Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti
Under the auspices of DLW Rajbhasha Deparment, half yearly meeting of Nagar Rajbhasha
Karyanvayan Samiti (NRKS) was held on 17th July at Technical Training Centre Auditorium. It was
presided over by Shri V.P.Pathak, General Manager & President, Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan
Samiti, Varanasi. Heads/representatives of
various central govt. departments and
autonomous organisations attended this
meeting. Discussing the guidelines of
Parliamentary Official Language Committee,
Shri Pathak suggested the members to study
the prescribed questionnaire carefully and
identifying the lapses to remove them.
In this meeting, Shri Ajay Malik, Deputy Director/Implementation, Rajbhasha Department,
Home Ministry was also present as Observer. Expressing happiness over the progress report of
NRKS member offices, he suggested them to ensure cent-percent use of Hindi in official works.
On this occasion, GM Shri Pathak honoured the NRKS member offices by giving them shields
and certificates for their commendable performance in promoting Rajbhasha in official works. In
which, Certification Centre/Central Silk
Board got first place, followed by Khadi
Gramodyog Commission and Hydrological
Observation Circle/Central Water
Commission offices on second and third
places respectively. In Central Govt.
Undertakings/Corporations category,
Airport Authority of India got first place, followed by General Manager/Telecommunications and
Employees' State Insurance Corporation on second and third places respectively, whereas Central
Industrial Security Force Unit/Babatpur, Regional Publicity Office and Kendriya Vidyalaya
Sangathan bagged consolation prizes.
Earlier, Shri J.N.Pandey, Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari & Vice-President NRKS welcomed the
Heads and Representatives of member offices and threw light upon the activities of NRKS and DLW
in the field of Rajbhasha promotion. On this occasion, ADRM/NER Shri V.K.Srivastava,
Representative of Hindi Council Shri J.N.Roy as well as other Heads/Representatives of various
central govt. departments and autonomous organizations expressed their views and put valuable
suggestions for the promotion Rajbhasha. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks
proposed by Shri J.N.Pandey, Vice-President NRKS. Shri Shri Bhagavan Pandey, Rajbhasha
Adhikari and Member Secy./NRKS conducted the whole programme efficiently.
Addl. Member/Production Unit inspected DLW
Shri R.N.Mishra, Addl. Member/Production
Unit visited Diesel Locomotive Works on 10th July.
On this occasion he inspected Depot, Block shop,
Loco Division and other places along with Shri
Suneet Sharma, CME, Shri Yogesh Mohan, CME/P,
Shri A.K.Singh, Advisor, Rail Vikash Nigam Ltd.
(RVNL) and other officers of DLW & RVNL. In the
workshop he inspected the progress of ongoing
expansion project of DLW and expressed
satisfaction over the progress.
Thereafter, Shri Mishra held a meeting with
S/Shri V.P.Pathak, General Manager, Suneet
Sharma, CME, V.K.Srivastava, COS and other HODs
in Conference Hall, where he witnessed
presentation on production activities, ongoing
projects and future developmental plans of DLW.
On this occasion, Addl. Member/PU also met
Staff Council members as well as the
representatives of other employees associations and office bearers of SC/ST/OBC Association.
Hindi Competitions on "Ek Bharat-Shreshth Bharat"
Under the auspices of DLW Rajbhasha Department, Hindi Essay, Elocution and Poetry
Recital Competitions on 'Ek Bharat-Shresth Bharat' were organised on 04th & 05th July at Hall of
Fame. It was presided over by Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari Shri J.N.Pandey.
In these competitions, officers and employees
participated in a large number. In the Hindi Elocution
competition S/Shri Nitin Mehrotra, DGM & Secy. to GM,
Vivek Acharya, Dy.CME/Block and Shri Ram Janam
Chaube, Principal, TTC were as judges. In this
competition Shri Jitendra Srivastava, Sr. Security
Commissioner got first place, followed by Shri Rajeev
Kumar, Sr.EDPM on second and Shri Mukesh Kumar
Singh, Sr. Law Assistant & Shri Vikash Kumar Pandey,
TGT got third place jointly.
In this connection, Poetry Recital Competition
was also organised on 04th July. S/Shri Amit Sinha,
Dy.CME/M&P, Shri Ajeet Kumar Mishra, Dy.FA&CAO/F
and Smt. Jyoti Kiran Pandey, Principal, DLW Inter
College were as judges in poetry recital competition. In
which Shri Vikash Kumar Pandey, TGT got first place,
followed by Dr. Shashi Kant Sharma, Tech./Ele. on
second and Shri Jaybind Kumar Singh, Dy.FA&CAO/B&B
third places respectively.
Shri Shri Bhagavan Pandey, Rajbhasha Adhikari conducted the competitions. While, Shri
Vinod Kumar Srivastava, Sr. Translator welcomed the judges & participants and Shri Amlesh
Shrivastava, Sr. Translator proposed the vote of thanks.
