We would like to acknowledge that the festival takes place in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People.
This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship,” which Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) people first signed with the British Crown in 1725.
The treaties did not deal with surrender of lands and resources but in fact recognized Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) title and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations.
The Halifax Pop Explosion Music Festival and Conference is a not-for-profit association.

First of all, thanks to YOU, the fans! It takes music lovers to know other music lovers, and we’re so excited to roll out another fantastic year of live music for you to relish and discover.
Thank you to all the artists, sound technicians, venues, comedians, speakers, partners, agents, managers, backline techs, volunteers, production crew, shuttle drivers, hotel staff, team leads, friends, and everyone else involved in making this all happen. Working together is how great events like HPX come to life. You rock our world!
