BBHHS ORCHESTRA PRESENTS
As they Battle the Seas, Run from Zombies, become Radioactive, and Survive the Hunger Games!
October 16th 2014 at 7:00 PM BBHHS Auditorium
Steve Cocchiola, High School Director Joseph Mueller, High School Principal
Jennifer O'Neal , Middle School Director Todd Rings , Middle School Principal
A few notes about our BBHHS Orchestras, which are open to freshman, sophomore, junior and senior students who play a stringed instrument:
STRING: String Orchestra is designed to train the beginning to intermediate string players in proper perfor-
mance and rehearsal techniques and to nurture their potential through the rehearsal and performance of quality string orchestra litera-ture appropriate to their level of development. It is also designed to prepare the musicians for performance at a more advanced level. Many middle school players enter this program during their freshman year at BBHHS.
CONCERT: Concert Orchestra is designed to develop the potential of the instrumental musicians through
rehearsal and performance of quality string and symphony orchestra literature appropriate to the level of that development. It is also designed to prepare the musicians for performance at their highest level. Students who enter the program must be able to read music. This ensemble will perform at the Ohio Music Educators Association (OMEA) Large Group Adjudication in February.
CHAMBER: Chamber Orchestra is a selected string ensemble that deals with advanced string instrument
techniques. This ensemble is designed to develop the potential of the instrumental musicians through rehearsal and performance of quality chamber orchestra literature appropriate to that level of development. Students must audition with the directors in order to be accepted into the program, and are strongly encouraged to study with a private teacher as well. This ensemble will perform at the OMEA Large Group Adjudication in February.
SYMPHONIC: Symphonic Orchestra is an extra – curricular group of high school students who practice after
school during special sessions for several weeks before scheduled school performances. Members include all Chamber Orchestra students and interested String Orchestra students, along with various wind and percussion students.
