  • Budgets Completed

and Opportunities for Training Ahead FROM CHRIS BROWN, CFO

The operating budgets for Fiscal Year 2019-20 are complete and reflect the budget adjustments. Approved office budgets will be issued to the managers of the respective offices, and should be distributed accordingly with staff. The new financial system, Dynamics 365, has been in operation now for a number of months. During the current fiscal year, we will be configuring and implementing a number of system modules within the program, including the on-line reporting module. Additional system training will be available throughout the year.

In collaboration with Human Resources and the Communications Department, we will be bringing you the news you have come to know and love twice a month, but now including mission- and parish/school-focused additions. The first edition of each month will offer an update from one of our leaders, a department highlight, updates on our capital and CSA campaigns, and more. Feature editions will be either mission focused or parish/school focused, and offer the opportunity

to break down some of the silos mentioned within the recent staff survey, as well as continue to keep our mission a priority in everything we do moving forward. The mid-month edition will continue to consist of more general reminders and updates.

You put a lot of time into sharing information with your specific audiences. You have a general idea of how many people your newsletter goes to, but do you know how many people actually open it? If sent on Sendgrid, we can provide you with how many people clicked on the email introducing your newsletter, as well as how many people actually opened the newsletter itself. If you are curious how well your newsletter is received, please contact Amy Grau at [email protected].

As we approach 2020, we are asking every parish and priest/parish director to participate in a process through Catholic Leadership Institute known as a Disciple Maker Index, which will give an objective assessment of the community landscape and needs of the parishioners, as well as assist in getting a “snapshot” of our parishes to help us to plan for the future.

Catholic Leadership Institute Update FROM FR. JERRY HERDA,VICAR FOR CLERGY

Our MissionProclaim Christ and Make Disciples through the Sacramental Life of the Church.

In addition to our $7.8 million Catholic Stewardship Appeal campaign (see thermometer on next page), the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is launching a $150 million capital campaign, with 60% of the funds raised going back to the individual parishes ($90 million), and 40% of the funds ($60 million) being used for archdiocesan-related ministries and projects. The consultants of this capital campaign, CCS Fundraising, are on site at the Pastoral Center on the third floor of the C-Wing, near the Development Office. As the campaign continues, as many as 14 people will be assigned to the solicitation phase of the campaign, which will last for about 2.5 years. The campaign is seeking five-year pledges.
