Two Opportunities
1) Training & Mentoring Project
• Purpose: Gain practical knowledge applicable to the prevention administrator/supervisor responsibilities of the OCPC credential and experience mentoring and development with prevention colleagues
• WIIFM?: 18 CEUs toward advancing your prevention credential from OCPS to OCPC + professional relationship building
2) Study Group
• Purpose: Deepen theoretical knowledge of prevention leadership and develop resources (white papers and workshops) for the field
• WIIFM?: 13.5 CEUs toward advancing your prevention credential from OCPS to OCPC + $2,000 funding opportunity

Training & Mentoring Project
Primary Goals:
1. Increase individual and collective professional capacity for Ohio prevention professionals to assume institutional
and field leadership roles
2. Develop relationships among prevention professionals
pursuing the OCPC credential, both with each other and
with current OCPC-credentialed professionals
3. Prepare prevention professionals with the OCPS
credential to garner the OCPC credential

Who is Eligible
1. Ohio Certified Prevention Specialists working to earn their
Ohio Certified Prevention Consultant credential.
2. All participants must be willing to commit to the project
requirements, including training, consultation, and mentoring
sessions.
3. Up to 30 current OCPSs will be accepted.
4. Please note that because a limit of 30 OCPSs will be
selected to participate in this opportunity, ensuring
organizational representation will be a consideration in the
selection of participants.

So what exactly will I be
doing?
Participating in training
1. Nine (9) 90-minute trainings between September 2020 and June 2021
2. Content focused on the OCPC-level requirements of the OCDP Board
Planning for, engaging in, and evaluating consultation sessions
1. Three (3) sessions; one each quarter
2. Two project participants and one credentialed OCAM coach
3. Depending on session, assuming role of consultant or ”client”
Receiving mentoring
1. Nine (9) 30-minute mentoring sessions during project period
2. Individual- and group-based mentoring
3. Provided by OCPC-credentialed OCAM coach

WWIFM?
Upon successful completion of the OCPC Development
Fellowship Training & Mentoring Project, participants will earn 18 CEUs toward advancing their prevention credential from
OCPS to OCPC.
Participants will develop and build on existing professional
relationships with each other and with OCPC-credentialed
professionals
Participants will be more equipped to assume leadership roles
within their organizations and systems and provide leadership
for prevention on local, regional and state levels

Who is Eligible
1. Ohio Certified Prevention Specialists working to earn their Ohio Certified Prevention Consultant credential
2. All individuals must be interested in advancing the field of prevention by contributing to the development and creation of products and resources for the broader field, including explainer videos, infographics, white papers and workshops.
A total of 15 participants will be accepted.
Please note that only 15 individuals (not organizations or programs) will be selected to participate in this opportunity. Internal competition is strongly encouraged in order to select one individual per organization to apply for this grant. If more than one individual applies from an organization or program, all applications from that organization will be disqualified.

WWIFM?
Upon successful completion of the OCPC Development
Fellowship Study Group, participants will earn 13.5 CEUstoward advancing their prevention credential from OCPS to
OCPC.
Grant funds ($2000) will be released upon completion of
deliverables. Disbursements will take place on the following
schedule:
• December 2020
• June 2021

• Attend and actively engage in meetings 1 – 3
• Complete any follow-up work towards creating shareable

Permissible Use of Funds
Staff time to engage in the study group and complete required
study tasks – there is an average time commitment of about three
hours per week; some weeks may require no work and others may
require more.
Required readings and materials
Membership dues for ADAPAO
Registration fees for the ADAPAO Conference or other relevant
conferences
Equipment (including web cameras to participate via ZOOM or
other such technology)
