So I rely instead on the wise words of de Saint-Exupéry's Little Prince to express what I cannot. Last fall, our little Orange County alumnae group dreamed of a mission: to make our corner of the world a little better, one random act of kindness at a time. These "Pearl Projects," as we dubbed them, ranged from writing letters of encouragement and thanks to our troops to donating toiletries to women seeking employment. To say that I have been overwhelmed by your outpouring of support would be an understatement. Our last Pearl Project, gathering food donations for the Orange County Rescue Mission, garnered more than 18 pounds of food. Despite the hectic holiday season, you all helped to make the season extra special for those around you who needed it. I cannot thank you enough for the love and generosity you have shown. OC Sis Serves As New Exec. Director Alpha Gamma Delta has new leadership, and the Orange County Alumnae Chapter could not be more thrilled. Last month, OCAC founding member Wendy Bright Faust was welcomed as the latest Executive Director of our international fraternity. Her first day was February 2.

Wendy lives the Alpha Gamma Delta Purpose with more than 20 years as a Fraternity volunteer, including the role of Chapter Advisor of Delta Tau at Chapman University.

Celebrating our sisters’ successes Share your stories with us by filling out a contact card at www.agdocac.com

Wendy is a graduate with distinction from Sonoma State University, where she was initiated into Delta Rho Chapter. Before heading to Indianapolis, she served as Executive Director of Advancement for Rosary High School in Fullerton. We wish Wendy the best of luck as she helps lead our fraternity to new heights!

Check out the article on Wendy featured in the latest edition of The Quarterly!

Brina Tatz Reeves, Delta Tau, is preparing to welcome a beautiful little girl this spring. We can’t wait to meet our newest little rosebud!

Congrats to Larissa Weikel, Delta Xi, who tied the knot on January 29, 2015!

Sarah Rock, Delta Tau, received a special Christmas gift this year—a ring from her college sweetheart!

Leila Forsythe Alvarez is adding a bundle of joy to her family roster this May!

From the Foundation: Introducing the Stop Diabetes Playbook As Alpha Gams, we have made a commitment to help Stop Diabetes®, and there is a new resource available to help you do just that! Through our collaboration with the American Diabetes Association®, we have created the Stop Diabetes Playbook to be your one-stop resource to find Association community service opportunities in your area.

Our Purpose challenges us to contribute to the world’s work in the community where we are placed—and that’s just what this guide aims to help you do. In the Playbook, you will find everything you need to know to get connected with your local American Diabetes Association office and help raise diabetes awareness and education in your own community. The Playbook also shares a number of online resources, including information about ways to prevent type 2 diabetes and tips to live a healthy lifestyle that you might use for chapter or community programs.

Many Association volunteer opportunities are already available, so download the Playbook todayand start planning your next community service activity now!

If you have any questions about the Playbook or Alpha Gamma Delta’s collaboration with the American Diabetes Association, you can reach out to Carol Richards Peske, Philanthropy Committee Chairman, at [email protected].

Did you know March 24 kicks off the American Diabetes Association Alert Day campaign?

This special day is intended to serve as a diabetes "wake-up call." The American Diabetes Association encourages everyone to take the Diabetes Risk Test on March 24 (through April 21) to find out whether you have or are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. How else can you get involved? Share the test with your families, chapters, clubs, campuses and communities! Here are some social media messages and the Diabetes

Alert Day logo you can use to promote the day.

Delta Tau Details

Delta Tau was thrilled to initiate 60 amazing women last fall and looks forward to meeting new sisters this spring! The girls will be holding COR events Feb 23-March 6, with Initiation tentatively planned for Sunday, May 3 at 4 pm. Pi Beta Phi is colonizing Feb 2-22, bringing the number of sororities on campus to 9! As of October, Chapman's women are almost 43 percent Greek. The men are 25 percent Greek. The chapter will not be holding a philanthropy event this spring. With the growth of Greek Life on campus, each group is limited to one large event per year. Due to popular demand, we will be bringing back the Serve It Up tennis tournament in the fall, probably in late October.
