in the context of the poem?2. In the poem, does it apply to
the child or the adult? What does it say about that character?
An easy passage
Q: What is the significance of the word ‘halfway’ in the first line?
A: A poem about boundaries, about the liminal space between two worlds. Re-read and annotate all of the boundaries (literal and metaphorical) you come across:e.g. – light v shade- Inside v outside- Up v down- Girl v woman- Safe v vulnerable- Present v future
