Shawn Henderson applied his trademark texture, color and

organic material to infuse the Huffington Post Oasis with refined

serenity. He approached this project as he does all his highly

regarded work, pulling inspiration from both the architectural

form and interior function.

To create the nuanced, tailored interior that marries organic and

green material with calm purpose, Henderson custom-designed

special pieces -- a lounge chair and daybed -- to anchor the

space. He then layered in a curated collection of green and

sustainable furnishings and accessories notable for their

harmonious beauty.

To design The Huffington Post Oasis, I envisioned turning

the highly charged activity at the convention on its head,

by creating a peaceful, quiet space where guests would

gravitate as a place that would revive them. Harmonious

interiors are inspiring, and I set out to help the Oasis guests

on their quest, not only for great scoops, but for beauty.

The Huffington Post Oasis offers harried conventioneers a chance to unplug and recharge during the Democratic National Convention. Presented by HuffPost's Living section and Off the Mat, Into the World™, a not-for-profit organization which promotes activism as an adjunct to healthy living, HuffPost Oasis offers complimentary yoga, massages by Urban Zen, healthy snacks and refreshments, music and comfortable seating areas for lounging. Internationally-celebrated yoga teacher Seane Corn oversees yoga services, and Shawn Henderson, interior designer and eBay Design Director, creates a soothing place to relax and re-energize.
