What is our Designation status?

• Under Georgia’s ESEA Flexibility Waiver, certain Title I schools are designated as Reward, Priority, Focus, or Alert schools.

• We have not been given a school designation this year, which means we are continuing to provide a quality education to all of our students.

What is the Title I Parent Involvement Plan?

This is a plan that describes how OKE will provide opportunities to improve parent engagement to support student learning.

•Family Nights (Curriculum, Reading, Math, Multicultural, Science & Test Prep)•Parent Resource Room•Support Programs for Students•Communication: newsletters, agendas, conferences, website, marquee, email, homework folders and special announcements.

Parental Involvement Plan

• Draft – Parent Involvement Plan was presented at the OKE Parent Input Meeting on August 15th.

• The Revised Parent Involvement Plan is available tonight. All parents will receive a copy during the OWLS Conferences in September.

This describes how the students, parents, and school will WORK TOGETHER to do everything

possible to ensure STUDENT ACADEMIC SUCCESS!

School Parent Compact

• Copies of the Revised School Parent Compact are available tonight.

• Revised compacts will be available to all parents at the OWLS Conferences in September.

• We are required to a have a signed Revised Parent Involvement Plan and School Parent Compact for EVERY student in the school. This will take place in September during OWLS Conferences.

• 680 surveys were sent home with each student

• 104 families responded • Workshops requested:

– Homework Strategies – September 23, 2014– Reading/Writing – October 14, 2014– Math – November 11, 2014– Look for information on these workshops and

others throughout the year.
