A Message from Mrs. Lynch
We’ve had a great first full week! If your children participated regularly in the
Summer Moodle review, his/her name is listed below. We had some students
who completed over 400 activities! Way to go! I will be setting up my summer
celebration sometime in September.
After School Enrichment information went home this week. We again have
many great enrichment classes being offered. We have tried our best to spread
out classes and pick-up spots to help with the flow of traffic. Please pay very
careful attention to your child’s pick-up spot and communicate directly with
your child’s enrichment teacher, via the number he/she will give to parents re-
garding any dismissal changes or special arrangements.
We welcome everyone to volunteer at Oak Trace. Please make sure you com-
plete a criminal background check if you are planning to volunteer. You may
get a form from Ms. Louden or Mrs. Luedke in the office.
I will look forward to seeing all of our parents of students in grades 1-4 at Meet
the Teacher Night on August 25th at 7:00. (Kindergarten already had their infor-
mation night the evening of the Ice Cream Social). Please know that there will be
just one official session at 7:00, but teachers will be available following the first
session at 7:45 to give you materials and answer any questions if you were unable
to attend the first session.
Thank you for a great start to the year! I hope to see everyone at the grand open-
ing of our new WHS football stadium as the ROCKS host their first football game
of the season. There are many fun activities planned! (See information in the
newsletter for more details!) Have a great weekend!

Counselor’s Chronicle
Welcome Back Oak Trace students and families! I hope everyone had a fantastic summer and your student is
off to a great start to our 2015-16 school year. I’ve had an opportunity to greet most of the classrooms this past
week, and talk to the students about my role here at Oak Trace. I’m going into my 16th year as the school coun-
selor at Oak Trace, and I’m here to help however I can. We have started the fall NWEA testing window , and the
students seem to be excited about being back at school. Feel free to stop by and say hi, this coming Tuesday
night, as my door is always open to help with any need that might arises. Have a great weekend! Mr. F

FROM THE LIBRARY:
We are starting to get into our routine in the library! Grades 1-4 starting checking out books, beginning on Thurs-
day of this week, and will continue with classes next week! Kindergarten will practice library procedures and learn
about taking care of library books and begin checking out books very soon! It's been so fun to share with the clas-
ses some of the new books that were purchased, over the summer, for our library! Their eyes get as big a saucers
when I share some of the titles! So fun to see their excitement!
Please remind your child to bring their library book(s) back to school on their library day! It is the same day each
week! Also, if they want to renew their book(s), they should bring the book with them so that I can re-check it out to
them!
Happy Reading!

What a great week we had in P.E. 1st-4th grade students learned how to play Gaga Ball. Thanks to our PTO we
were able to construct a new Gaga Center outside on
the playground. Students are getting a great
workout playing this active game!
Also, I am happy to announce that the Colts Big
Blue Football Camp is returning to Oak Trace on
Tuesday, Sept. 8th. We are calling all DADS to
come out and volunteer to help with a variety of
agility stations. Students in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade
will be participating from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00.
If you help, please email me at grim-
