PAST CONTINUOUS X SIMPLE PAST

Usa-se o Past Continuous Tense junto com o Simple Past quando 2 ações acontecem no passado e uma interrompe a outra.

A ação que estava acontecendo é representada pelo Past Continuous e a ação que interrompe, pelo Simple Past.

EXEMPLOS:

I was trying to make that phone call when he interrupted me.She was leaving when I called her.

PAST CONTINUOUS X PAST CONTINUOUS

Usa-se o Past Continuous Tense junto com outro Past Continuous quando 2 ações estavam acontecendo no passado simultaneamente .

EXEMPLOS:

I was trying to download those files and he was helping me.She was leaving the place and I was following her.
