Our ma in aim is to iden tify and di scuss the con cep tu al me tap hors that struc tu re the se con cepts. The di scus si on of the re la ted con cep tu al me tonymi es and con cepts com ple ments the de ba te on the ir me tap ho-ri cal con cep tu a li za ti on. We al so hig hlight the dif fe ren ces bet we en the con cept of pri de on the one hand, and tho se de no ting an over we e ning opi ni on of one self, on the ot her. Furt her mo re, the con cept of pri de is re la ted to the me tap ho ri cal struc tu re of emo ti on con cepts in ge ne ral, as iden ti fi ed in Ser bi an.

This pap er deals with the con ce ptualizati on of Pon oS , gordoS t, oh oloSt an d nad MenoSt (pride, conc ei t, a rr o gance, haughtiness e tc. ) in th e Serbian l a ng ua ge. The a nalysis is per fo rmed wit hin the theoretical framework of C on c eptual Metaph or Theory and i s b ased on t he linguist ic data gat-hered from electronic co rp or a. Furthermo re, the evalua ti ve metaphor s th at are a n al yzed point to b oth positive and n egative evaluati on s of this concept.
