We had been invited to share the birthday party of a little girl from Eli's class who was born on the same day as him. He explained that he really liked the folk music from the soundtrack to the hit movie O Brother Where Art Thou? During the second stanza of the hymn my mind wondered if any of the adults mingling in the room knew that this folk song from a Hollywood blockbuster was one sung by generations of American believers to express their hope in the life to come. I felt a sense of juxtaposition that after- noon, the music I knew from my home culture didn't quite match the French surroundings. However, it was a reminder of two things. The first is that I have the great opportunity to meet other people created in God's image that I would never have been able to meet otherwise. The second is that I can be a real light for Jesus Christ here in France. Jesus said, "Ye are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hid." In my city I am among several hundred evangelical believers. In a metropolitan area of over 700,000 that means (roughly speaking) we are about 0.1% (not one percent, but one tenth of one percent) of the population. For this reason, I often pray that the Lord will place me in circumstances that I can share my faith in Christ. Unfortunately, in post-Christian Western Europe that does not mean winning souls to Christ often. Jesus Christ is not someone new to them. They were among the first people to have the Gospel. In modern times, they have found a more seemingly appropriate place for Christ in their secular thinking: a good teacher, a prophet maybe, but not the Son of God, not my Savior. Nevertheless, Jesus said He would build His church and the gates of Hell would not prevail against it. God is working in France. We see it in our churches; we see it as we share our faith with others. People are slowing becoming spiritually open again. And, as the song goes, "This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine!" How about you? 'Where art thou' brother or sister? Regardless of how much or how little your friends and neighbors have heard of Christ, how does your light shine? *Tim & Di Keener are from Westerville and Cleveland Ohio. The Co-op plan was adopted for Ohio FWBChurches back in 1974. It is designed to supportall Ohio State and National ministries. It places usall together. I believe that it has been a blessingto our state. Let me mention several ministrieswe in Ohio enjoy because of the Co-op Plan--The Ohio Men’s Retreat--Team Church--The Ohio Bible Institute--Our Pastor toPastors--Why I am a FWB Lesson--Revitalize Your Sunday SchoolWorkshops--Ohio’s Pastors RetirementProgram--Ohio State Missions--OhioYouth Conference--InternationalMissions-- National Home Missions--FWB Bible College and many more.

One of the reasons that I like this plan is thatit allows us to be all blessed togetherwhen the offerings at the local churchare up and all bear the burden togetherwhen they are down.

A second reason is that Co-op supports thewhole cause and all FWB ministries are support-ed. I believe it would be safe to say that withoutthe churches supporting the Co-op Plan, wewould not have a Ohio State Office, Staff orAmbassador Church Supply.

A third reason is that Co-op is the samemethod we use to support our localchurches. We place our offering to the churchand allow it to be distributed as the local churchso desires. The Co-op Plan does the same onthe state level.

Fourthly, it allows us to make decisionstogether. We meet every year at the OhioState Meeting and vote on how to distribute theCo-op receipts. Every church has a voice.

TOGETHER WE CANTOGETHER WE CANBy Edwin HayesBy Edwin Hayes

As we enter a new year, it is a good time to evaluate ourselves. We canevaluate our devotional life, our family life and our ministry life. We shouldsee what direction we are heading in these vital areas of life. Are we mak-ing progress or are we losing ground? To stop and evaluate ourselves isinvaluable and will save many problems down the road.

One of the greatest areas of evaluation is the area of compromise. Thisis one of the most difficult to detect and we must be diligent to be on guardfor areas of compromise in our lives. I have heard it said that a compro-mise is “a settlement in which each side gives up part of what it wants.” Amore ominous definition is, “to weaken your principles to get what youwant.” Satan is always active, continually offering us “little deals” to getwhat he wants out of our lives. This is pictured in the book of Exodus inthe story of Moses and Pharaoh. Moses was called of God to confrontPharaoh about releasing the Israelites from Egyptian slavery. WhenMoses came to Pharaoh and told him that they wanted to serve their Lord,Pharaoh told him that he didn’t know his Lord and that he was not obligat-ed to hear Him! Rather than releasing Israel, he turned up the heat onthem making them work harder. (Satan will always do this when someone wants to do the will of God!) The Lord then began

to send plagues upon Egypt to get Pharaoh’s attention. Egypt’s water turnedto blood, frogs covered the land and then lice came upon Egypt. Pharaohfinally realizes that the God of Moses meant business! Does he give up? No,he calls Moses in to offer him a compromise.

First Compromise-Don’t Go Too FarPharaoh offered to allow Moses and the Israel to sacrifice to God, as long as

they did it in Egypt! He said in essence, “I will let you serve your God, but you must do it here. Don’t go to the PromisedLand God has promised. You can your God right here is Egypt. This the same compromise Satan offers us. He says tous, “You can serve God and still live in the world. You don’t need to turn your back on the world.” What he is saying is,“Sure you can serve the Lord but don’t be a fanatic.” I am sure that the prophets, disciples and apostles were consideredfanatics of their times. Let’s not fall for this trap of the devil. Jesus Christ is worth selling out for. Let’s be like Moses andrefuse this deal.

Second Compromise-Don’t Take Your FamilyAfter more more plagues on Egypt, Pharaoh realizes that he is up against a power that is greater than he is, so he calls

Moses in for a second compromise. He offers to let the men of Israel go to worship God but they must leave their familiesbehind. He wanted their children to make slaves of them. This the same thing Satan wants to do to us. He tells us it is okto allow others to teach our children their value system. Babysitters, TV programs, schools, computer games, clubs, rockstars, athletes and movie stars have much to say today to our children about their value systems. However, God has giventhat responsibility to parents. We cannot shrink this responsibility and give it to someone else. Are we sometimes guilty ongoing on worship God to ourselves, but we leave our families behind? Moses refused this compromise and we should aswell.

Third Compromise-Don’t Take Your Material PossessionsThe final compromise Pharaoh offered was, “I will let you and your families go, but you must leave your flock and herds

here. He knew that if they left their material wealth behind, they would still be connected to Egypt. Satan tells us today, “Goahead and worship the Lord but keep your wealth in the world. Don’t sacrifice your material things to God.” The older I getthe more convinced I am, that the way I handle the material wealth God has given me is one of the greatest measurementsmy walk with the Lord. Throughout the Scriptures we see that God has always been vitally concerned about how His peo-ple prioritize their material things. Not because He needs it, but we need to give it! It has always been part of His plan. Wecan see it with Abraham and Melchisedek, Jacob’s vow, Malachi’s rebuke to Israel and the Rich Young Ruler’s refusal to partwith his riches, that the Lord is very concerned with our attitude about money. He is concerned with our attitudes as well.We as individual Christians, families, churches or denominations must put God first in our material possessions. Mosesanswered this offer with the statement that, when they left they would not leave “a hoof behind.” Everything was going withthem when they went. Nothing was to be left in Egypt.

After all these offers of compromise, Pharaoh sent Moses away. God then sent the final plague on Egypt-the Passover and the death of the firstborn of Egypt. With Egypt’s power broken, a defeated Pharaoh callsfor Moses to release them from slavery. This time no deals, no compromise. When Israel left Egypt, theyleft as a free nation with no “deals” hanging over their heads. Moses was no doubt glad that day that he hadnot given in to Pharaoh’s offers of compromise. May we remember this the next time Satan says to us, “Ihave a deal for you.”

The older I get the more con-vinced I am that the way I handlethe material wealth God hasgiven me is one of the greatestmeasurements my walk with theLord.

FWBBC PresidentSelected for Leadership

Development CouncilReverend J. Matthew Pinson, president

of FWB Bible College, was one of 15 execu-tives (presidents, CEOs, COOs) from nationalChristian organizations invited to participate inthe twice-annual Leadership DevelopmentCouncil sponsored by the Crowell Trust, aColorado-based firm.

The three-day Fall 2005 session metOctober 12-14 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, bringing together executives fromsuch diverse organizations as AWANA, Greater Europe Mission, John StottMinistries and others. The majority of the participants traveled from all parts ofthe United States.

The Leadership Development Council (LDC) was formed over six years ago toassist key executives in becoming more effective in their ministry, by God'sgrace. The purpose of LDC is to provide a mentoring opportunity-where leadersbuild into the lives of other leaders by providing guidance, encouragement andaccountability from their own successful careers and academic backgrounds.

Each member of the mentoring team is committed to the attainment of qualitymanagement and leadership in the Lord's ministries. Christian organizations, because they are small, often require an executive to have the skills whichwould be carried by several executives in larger organizations. The mentoringteam knows by personal experience how difficult it is for Christian leaders tohave time to develop a well-rounded acumen in management skills. Theybelieve that mentoring is a proven biblical method of helping an individualacquire these abilities.

The LDC mentoring team desires to expand the program through other cellgroups across the nation to benefit more executives and leaders. The LDCteam believes they can be more effective by keeping the group size to a maxi-mum of 25 participants. Participation is by invitation only. A waiting list of futureparticipants is reviewed regularly.

RITTMAN COMMUNITY(CUYAHOGA-LORAIN)

As I write this letter, the year 2005 isalmost gone. Yet it has been a greatyear in Christ for our church! We praiseHim for all of His wonderful blessingsHe has given us.

We held our annual Thanksgiving eveservice at Liberty FWB Church.Unfortunately, the snow came and veryfew were able to make it out, but tothose who did, we had a wonderfulservice and two from our church werebaptized that night. That's somethingto be very thankful for.

December was a very busy month. We held our annual church Christmasdinner on December 10th. Over 70people came out that night and we hada lot of fun playing games, eating, andjust fellowshipping with each other. Wehad a wonderful opportunity to go andsing at our area nursing home onDecember 13. What a joy it brings tothe elderly faces when you sing aboutChrist. It was such a blessing to be apart of that. On December 17th, a busload went down to see "Christmas inMayberry" at Lucian Baker's church(Christ the King Community). We had awonderful time and the play was awe-some! Our annual Christmas programwas on December 18th. Our children'schurch did a tremendous job this year. The workers who worked with the chil-dren really put their hearts into it thisyear from the costumes to the songs. The teens finished the night with theplay "The Great Church Robbery." Itwas a comical play, but brought a spe-cial meaning about what the church isreally about. We had a wonderfulChristmas Eve service with a wonderfulcrowd who came out that night. Wehad a special guest saxophone playerwho played lovely Christmas carols.

On Christmas Day, we had our morn-ing worship service. What a service wehad! We had one precious soul comedown the aisle and give his heart to theLord. What a Christmas present thatwas. Tears were flowing as we allwished each other Merry Christmasand how happy we were to see thatsoul get saved. It was such a greatway to celebrate Christmas.

We are excited for 2006! We arestarting Pioneer Clubs on Wednesdaynights in February. We are looking for-ward to being more of an outreach toour neighborhood. Also, our plans arebeing developed at this time for ournew sanctuary. Please check us out onthe world wide web at www.rittman-commfwb.com. Please keep ourchurch in your prayers.

NEW CARLISLE (LITTLE MIAMI)The Spirit of the Lord has really been

moving in our little church. We are so blessed that the Lord sent

Brother Tom Chapman as our pastorin our time of need. Brother Tom is trulya messenger of the Lord.

We have had five people saved andbaptized and we have added ten newmembers in the past year.

We have special singers and a guestpreacher at our Sunday services.

We also have a fellowship get-togeth-er after evening services the lastSunday of every month. Lots of fun, food, and praising the Lord. Pleasecome join us.

On Sunday, December 18th, we hadour children’s Christmas play.

SPRINGFIELD (LITTLE MIAMI)We pray everyone had a Merry

Christmas. Merry Christmas seems tohave been the topic this season. Bro.Paul Lemaster preached, “It’sMerry Christmas or nothing.” Therewouldn’t be Happy Holidays withoutMerry Christmas.

The youth choir sang Christmassongs for us and by the encourage-ment of Nina McKay’s teacher, LindaPicklesimer, she read a poem that shehad written about Christmas.

The congregation met at Bradfield’srestaurant for our dinner. The roomwas packed and everyone enjoyedthemselves. The church also paid forthe widows dinners.

Seventeen fruit baskets were alsodelivered by Pastor Charles Criderand Al Dooley.

We were very blessed to have hadBros. Bill Pitts, Tom Dooley, andMike Mounts preach in theNovember revival. Thank God for menthat are lead of the Holy Spirit toinstruct us and open our hearts to theWord of God. They were an inspirationto all of us in their knowledge, powerand demonstration of the Word. Notonly did they preach, but they also sangas a trio every night.

We had our communion and feetwashing service. It was one of themost moving services we have had andthe Spirit moved upon us in this mostreverent service.

We started a prayer list, and haveseen three souls saved. As 2005 is amemory and 2006 lies before us, wepray that we will be willing vessels to beused in the work of the Lord, and thatevery name on that prayer list will cometo know the salvation of the Lord.

We have many people that are sick, but there are also many that are soul-sick. Please help us pray that ourchurch might be a soul-winning station

for the Lord in 2006.Charles Crider, Pastor

CHARITYOur church had a dinner in December.

We have been having good servicesand have had new people come.

GCC STUDENTS BLESSED THROUGH SPECIAL SERVICES

Gateway Christian College is off to a good start in the 2005-2006 school year with forty-one students attending. Studentsare training for FWB ministries in the areas of Bible, PastoralStudies, Music, and Teacher Education, all in a local-churchsetting.

During the fall revival, GCC students were able to be part ofone of the greatest outpourings of revival many have everexperienced. Over ninety people were saved and many oth-ers made decisions for Christ in personal dedication andanswered various calls to full-time Christian service. Some ofthe students stood weeping around the altar at the completionof the services making statements like, "I've never seen any-thing like this!" The Lord's presence was obvious, and Hisblessing undeniable. Such services certainly aid the trainingof students going into gospel ministries.

UPCOMING EVENTS FOR GCC: Spring 2006The Spring semester for Gateway Christian College in

Virginia Beach, VA, promises a wonderful program for the col-lege as well as for visitors.

The annual Bible Conference will be held March 5-8, and the preachers will be Johnny Pope, HenryHorne, and Rudolph Outlaw. The college's OpenHouse is also going to be held during Bible Conferencewhere pastors or associates may bring their young people tovisit the college while also attending the conference services.Students attending the Spring Open House 2006 will arrive onSaturday, March 4 for the beginning of activities. More infor-mation about the Bible Conference and the Spring OpenHouse may be found on the college website (www.gateway-christiancollege.com). During Bible Conference, the GCCAlumni Association will meet for its very first Alumni Banquet.

The Spring 2006 GCC Golf Tournament will beheld April 11. This year's event will feature the opportunityfor many to come to Virginia for great golf, wonderful fellow-ship, and college support. Details for the event are posted onthe college website.

The 2005-2006 school year will conclude with commence-ment on Sunday, April 2006, at 6:30 p.m. Rev. BrianWilliams-pastor of Highland Drive Free Will Baptist Church,in Lincolnton, NC-will bring the commencement address.

Praise the Lord for He isgood! I often write about ouryouth group. They are anexciting group of young people. They are excited about comingto church and they want theirfriends and family to come tochurch as well. I have written in the past about how theLord has blessed our youth and how many people are com-ing to the Lord through this avenue of evangelism. We useWednesday as our youth evangelism night. This is thenight we push and pursue to bring in youth. This has beena great blessing to the church.

A minister in Florida blessed us by giving us a 59 pas-senger bus in trade for our 15 passenger van. Praise theLord; we are filling it up! We are setting attendance recordsfor our Wednesday youth services. As a matter of fact, ouraverage attendance for the Wednesday youth service forOctober was forty! Praise the Lord! We, of course, use thebus on Sunday and pick up several adults and families aswell.

When you support our ministry with prayer and/orfinances, you become part of this ministry. When you arepart of this ministry, then you are obeying the GreatCommission. There is no greater blessing than seeing thefruits of your efforts work by the power of God to changelives.

Please continue to pray for our financial support. As youknow, without this regular support, we would be unable tocontinue our work. Our account has been several thousanddollars in the red!

Editors Note: I was blessed to be with the LighthouseMisson and the Byers’ on Sunday, December 4th. I wasvery impressed with what I saw. They had 27 adults inattendance that day and a host of children who werethrilled to be there! I was really encouraged when I saw theprogress the mission is making. Please keep up your sup-port of the Byers and the Lighhouse Mission.

GAHANNA (CORNERSTONE)New Year's blessings from Gahanna

FWB. It seems appropriate at the NewYear to give thanks for all the Lord hasblessed us with the past year. He is afaithful Lord!!!We have been blessed with sound

preaching, heart-felt testimonies, newconverts, and lots of visitors this pastholiday season. The ladies' auxiliary has been very

busy with the holidays. They haveorganized a food drive and preparedbaskets of food for needy families inour community for Thanksgiving, organized toy donations for needy chil-dren at Christmas, and prepared thechurch Christmas dinner. Fundraisersfrom the year support WCMI and NewLife Free Will Baptist Church inHamilton, Ohio. In addition, 10% offunds raised supports mission work. The ladies of our church truly representJesus to the community and we thankthem for all they do. On the flip side, our monthly Men's FellowshipBreakfast offers Gahanna Churchmembers the opportunity to invite menfrom the community to a free breakfastand they too represent Jesus to ourcommunity. This is a wonderful way toinvite visitors to the church. Thanks tothe men in our church that host this pro-gram: Jack Endicott, Ben Horsley, TonyHuber and John Hlavacek. Our junior church presented their

Christmas play on December 18. Itwas based on the lineage of Christ andour family tree of faith. Thanks to theyouth workers who organized this pro-gram. It is a great outreach opportuni-ty to parents and relatives of our youth. Rev. Dana Booth, National Home

Missionary to Rochester, NY, was guestpreacher at the December 25 eveningservice. Thanks to Pastor Dana andhis wife, Betty, for their vision to spreadthe gospel to New York and for sharingtheir ministry with our church. We thank Pastor Curtis Booth and

COALTON (JACKSON)As this year ends we reflect on all

God's blessings. What a mighty Godwe serve! We truly have been blessedhere at Coalton. We have seen soulssaved, members added to the church, heard heartfelt messages and songsthat have inspired us and seen theLord heal our sick.

We have also enjoyed good times offood and fellowship; most recentlybeing Thanksgiving and Christmas din-ners. An enclosed entry was added tothe church building. This makes formore room as people enter and exit thebuilding. It will also give a place forsingers to sell their tapes. We wereglad to hear Bro. George Walker andhis wife as they sang for us inNovember. In December the Youth of the church

did a magnificent job as they put on theChristmas program. We saw how four"Fumbling Bumbling Angels" made it tothe heavenly choir. This was per-formed by the younger children of thechurch. "A Christmas Carol" and"Christmas Confusion" was performedby the teenagers and young adults ofthe church. This takes a lot of time andhard work and we want to thank allthose involved. As the year ends and a new one

begins let us consider Proverbs 22:28"Remove not the ancient landmarks, which thy fathers have set."

COLUMBUS FIRST (FRANKLIN)Greetings to all of our sister churches. We are

happy to report that God is a Good God and He cer-tainly has been good to us.

During the months of October and November weexperienced a great time of spiritual growth during our40 Days Of Purpose Campaign. We had 10 smallgroups that met at different times during the week andwere able to reach some of our friends and familymembers. It was an uplifting and informative experi-ence for all who participated. We thank God for thistime of purpose.

Our church has purchased a new video projectionsystem to use during services.

Our annual Homecoming was held on September25th with Rev. Larry Sparks, former pastor doingthe preaching. The Master's Hands provided thespecial music. Everyone enjoyed the day of fellow-ship with our friends.

Please remember Irene Mullins, Laura Evans andEd Weidner in your your prayers. They have all beenin the hospital recently and are in need of prayer.

In November, we had guest speaker AugustusMiantona from Liberia, Africa speak to us and tellhis testimony of how he came to Christ.

Please continue to pray for our church that God willcontinue to use us in the place that He has plantedus.

FELLOWSHIP (JACKSON)Matt:18:20....".For where two or three are gathered

together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."Hello to everyone......We celebrated Thanksgiving

this year in our usual tradition. We turned the lightsdown low and a few candles are lit on a table in frontof the altar.

Each individual family takes turns coming forward tolight a candle for someone or something that theyhave been praying for. Then they tell about some ofthe wonderful things that God has blessed them withthroughout the year. It's always a nice service andmakes you realize just how good our Lord is!

On November 27th, we had our communion and footwashing service. As you know, this is also a spiritualand humbling service. God is so good to us here andhas answered so many of our prayers. How thankfulwe are!

On December 2nd, some of our congregation tookseveral of our youth Christmas shopping. Adults andyouth alike always enjoy this outing.

On December 18th, after Sunday School and churchservices, we had our Christmas dinner. Good foodand good fellowship was enjoyed by all. That sameevening after services,we added two more to ourmembership. This couple has been coming for quite awhile and we are very happy to have them join ourfamily here at Fellowship.

On Christmas evening we had our Christmas pro-gram. It was a great time for everyone. The programwent very well and I'm confident that our Lord waspleased.

That's about it for now. We certainly hope you all hada Merry Christmas and we'd like to extend to you all,a happy, prosperous, and peaceful new year!

WOODLAND CHAPEL (LAWRENCE)Greetings in the name our Lord Jesus Christ!

Since our last report God has truly been blessinghere at Woodland Chapel. We thank Him for meetingwith us at every service. We have had several newvisitors that have been worshiping with us. We thankGod for those he has sent to our church.

We have several in our church who are very sickand can't make to service. We need to hold all ourbrothers and sisters who are shut ins in prayer in allchurches. We often wonder where we get ourstrength from in times like these.

One of the greatest preachers in our LawrenceConference, the late Brother Howard Kimblewhich I had the privilege to be my pastor for five yearsbefore his death. He preached where we draw ourstrength was GOD. I think of the scripture from Isaiah40 verse 29, “He giveth power to the faint and to themthat have no might he increaseth strength. verse 30even the youth shall faint and be weary, and theyoung men shall utterly fall.” verse 31 sums this up,“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew theirstrength, they shall mount up with wings aseagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shallwalk and not faint.” Hallelujah ! to His glorious name. With Pastor Dave's preaching God’s holy word, weare strengthened.

We have been having great services. We have

taken in four new members, Steve and Mary Wilsonand Rick and Penny Strunk. We thank God for send-ing them our way. They are a great addition to ourchurch family.

December 4th, we had our Christmas Dinner withsongs, testimonies and a great dinner. On the 7th, wehad our first nursing home service at Sunset Nursinghome in Coal Grove. Those shut-ins really enjoyedthemselves. Pastor Dave preached the message. Onthe 18th we had our Christmas program on that morn-ing. The evening service our youth under the directionof Pam Evans and Madlyn Ross. It was called the“Fumbly Bumbly Angels.” Our youth did a great job.

Here at Woodland we are looking for great things tohappen and see many souls saved! Until our nextreport, may God bless you all and remember, JesusChrist is LORD!

PORTER CONFERENCE The Porter Conference met on November 19 at the Harrison FWB Church in Minford. Bro. Daryl Grimes

was elected as Moderator and he chose Bro. Mark Price to serve as his assistant. The Special Committeerecommended that Bro. Rodney Evans, interim pastor of the Madison Church, be ordained. The ordina-tion service was scheduled to be held at the church on November 27. They also examined Bro. Mike Leslieof the Madison Church and recommended that he be licensed to preach for one year. Bro. Edwin Hayesgave a report on the State work. He informed us that Ohio will be hosting the National Convention in 2009and we need to raise $30,000 for the rental fee of the arena. He encouraged the churches to pay their por-tion as early as possible so the money could be placed in an interest-bearing account. He also invited all themen to attend this year's retreat. On a business note, the conference voted to pay guest speakers a $50 hon-orarium.

Bro. Hayes was selected to bring the morning message and he spoke from I Peter 5:5 on the principle ofsubmission and God's authority. It was a great message and at the conclusion, all the pastors came forwardand stood at the altar as the congregation shook hands with them and let them know how much their laborsin the ministry were appreciated. Everyone is invited to attend our next conference which will be held at thePorter FWB Church on February 19, 2006, at 9:30 a.m.

Greetings for a Blessed Year of 2006. As Isit writing this, I am still in the Christmasmode. You know, the shopping, the gift baskets for church, the get-togethersfor church and work and family, making fudge for family and friends and churchand work. We make lots of fudge. How do you think my husband Jim got hisnickname? And then there is decorating the house, and the tree, and the bak-ing and fixing the Christmas meal. There is always so much that we could easi-ly lose our focus. As you wrapped each present, I hope that you said a prayerfor the recipient. and remembered the reason for the season is the greatest giftof all. Not only has God given us salvation through Jesus, but love and peace, and joy, and an abundant life. Its available year round too! Thank you LordJesus!

A new year brings changes. That is a fact of life. Let me encourage you tosee changes as opportunities for growth and challenges to conquer. What doesGod have for you to learn to grow? How can this be an opportunity to shareChrist?

Women’s RetreatMark your calendars and put in your requests for work vacation if necessary

for the annual retreat. It will be October 13-14th, Friday and Saturday. Thechange is the location. This year we will be at the Heartland RetreatCenter in Marengo , Ohio, just north of Columbus. Many of you have wantedto try this facility as the men's retreat has been held there. It is a more centrallocation .The officers will be meeting to plan the retreat and to calculate thecosts. By the next edition of the Ambassador, we should have prices for you.We hope to offer an early bird special. We will be extending the time of theretreat to include Saturday afternoon so don't plan to leave too soon! Sendyour suggestions to us.With the location being closer to many of you, we hopeto see many of you there.

WNAC Dues IncreaseAt the 2005 National, the WNAC recognized the need to change the member-

ship fees to $15.00 per member. The district and state fees remains the sameat this time. For a member belonging to a district, the fee would be $16.50. Fora member not in a district, it would be $16.00. The WNAC operates entirely onour donations and fees, it does not receive any funding. They have tried sever-al options the last few years to delay this fee change, but we all know howcosts keep increasing. This is still only $1.25 a month for national dues. Wehave a team to give us leadership and direction to minister to our homes, fami-ly; and church, to our city, country and world. If you haven't read the Co-Laborerlately, take a look. You'll be sure to find something that will encourage andinspire you in your service for the Lord. Lets support Women Active for Christ. Its for every woman at every age and every stage of life.

With all the changes we each face every day in our lives, aren't you glad thatJesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow?

Our Free WillBaptist Heritage

In previous articles, we have shared the storyof the origins of both the State of Ohio, and theFree Will Baptist movement within its borders.Ohio became a State in 1803. In 1804, EliStedman came to Ohio from Vermont and organized the first Free Will BaptistChurches in the Buckeye State. Young John Colby heeded God’s call andpreached through Ohio in 1810, and the Free Will Baptist Churches that latersprouted up in the areas where he ministered were a testament to the effective-ness of his message. The Free Will Baptist foundation had been laid in this newfrontier largely due to the efforts of these two young men from the Northeast. Littledid they know that even while they ministered, God was preparing two more mento make the same journey and provide a huge boost to the Free Will Baptistcause in Ohio.

Rev. David Dudley was born in Mt. Vernon, Maine, in 1791. After acceptingthe Lord and being baptized, he had a near death experience which caused himto surrender to the call to preach. Much like Colby, Dudley felt the strong urge onhis life to travel west. In 1815, he journeyed to southern Ohio, “solely to work forGod”, he said. This simple goal he certainly accomplished! Dudley joined theChurch at Rutland, immediately began to evangelize, and was ordained by theRutland Church in 1817. In 1822 he moved to Marion County and organized theBig Island Free Will Baptist Church, which was the first Free Will Baptist Churchin Central Ohio. That was just the beginning – Dudley would go on to organizechurches in Marion, Pleasant, and Norton, then other Churches in Delaware,Richland, Licking, Clarke and Union Counties. He went to Iowa in 1850 andpreached two years, returned to Mainville, Ohio and pastored for a time, thenfinally returned to Marion County in 1861, where he preached occasionally untilthe Lord took him home. This valiant soldier of the faith died in Waldo, Ohio onMay 29, 1867.

Rev. Rufus Cheney was born in Antrim, New Hampshire in 1780. Hepreached for 7 years before being ordained in 1810. He lived for a time inVermont and then moved to Attica, New York where he assisted another preach-er in starting a church. In 1817 Cheney also heeded God’s call to Ohio and set-tled in the southern part of the state in a place called Porter. In September of thatyear he organized the Porter Church with 7 members. He was assisted byMarcus Kilborn, one of his converts from New York. (Kilborn who would later goon to found the first Free Will Baptist Church in Indiana.) David Dudley, the afore-mentioned “workhorse for the Gospel”, also labored at Porter for a portion ofthose early years, which were very exciting times. The “History of Free WillBaptists” states, “The people came out to meeting from all directions, some ofthem travelling eight or ten miles through those dense forests to hear the word oflife: and more than one hundred were added to the church.” Cheney continuedas Pastor of the Porter Church for several years before returning to New York. After a lifetime of preaching and Church planting, Rufus Cheney went home to bewith the Lord in 1869.

Although it’s been nearly 200 years since Rufus Cheney left Ohio, his work hereis still very much alive. The Porter Church is without a doubt the strongest con-tinuous and visible link we have to those early, pioneer days of our Free WillBaptist History. Porter, Ohio of 1817 is modern day Slocum Station, located justoutside Sciotoville. After 44 years of solid leadership by a modern day Free WillBaptist giant, Forrest “Tary” Chamberlin, current Pastor Mark PriceMark Price andthe good folks at Porter are still very involved both in the cause of Christ and themodern Free Will Baptist Denomination, a reminder to us of the great heritageand responsibility we all have to the heros of the faith who paved the way for us.

As the year 2006 has just begun, we are excitedabout the "Freddy Dutton Ministries" of full-time evan-gelism and soul winning. The Lord opened many new doors of opportunity forministry during 2005. We are prayerfully asking Him to open the doors where Hewould have us to be for this New Year that lies ahead. During 2005 I shared thegospel message over 200 times. We were in 135 plus churches, and witnessedthe awesome power of The Holy Spirit moving in the altar services with over 400precious souls coming forward for needs to be met. We praise the Lord for Hisprotection of traveling approximately 40,000 safe miles. One extraordinaryappointment was the Lord opening the door for us to speak at The JamesCancer Hospital to 125 cancer patients and 25 research doctors on the plan weused during Terry's struggle with cancer.

This year we want to use the email address book to give updates of the min-istry and appointments in addition to the newsletters. If you would like to beincluded in this outreach, just email us at [email protected] and let usknow to include your address in these upcoming releases.

Sunday, January 1st we were privileged to have tremendous services withPastor Brian Phillips at the Wyandotte FWB Church. Thanks to Wyandotteand Bro Brian for the great service, gracious hospitality and the special offeringthat was given to the "Freddy Dutton Ministries" account.

We look forward with great anticipation for 2006. We would love to be withyou in your church and serve the Lord in any capacity that you would want us tobe with you. We are so thankful for the miraculous ways the Lord leads us towhere we need to be and how needs are met. Thank you so much for being apart of evangelism and soul winning and for supporting this outreach of reachingthe lost with the old fashioned gospel.

PINE GROVE FWB SHOWS APPRECIATION FOR LONG-TIME PASTOR

When you think of warmth, comfort, and friendly people you may think of thedeep south, not necessarily southern Ohio. Nestled in the rolling hills of LawrenceCounty is a group of small country churches with not so small histories. PineGrove FWB is no exception. The past 25 years has brought about a great deal ofchange, but we are assured in Hebrews 12:8 that Jesus Christ never changes.Another mainstay at Pine Grove over these 25 years has been Pastor KennyKlaiber.

A Humble Beginning: Kenneth Ray Klaiber was born on November 29, 1948,in Lawrence Co. Ohio, to the parents of the late Harry Klaiber and Onna HowardKlaiber. Kenny was the second of eight children born into the Klaiber family. Yearsswiftly passed as Kenny matured into a hard working individual. He securedemployment at Armco Steel in Ashland, Kentucky. In the spring of 1971, Kennymet Cheryl, the love of his life, and they were united in marriage on November 25,1971. On May 15, 1975, because of this union, they had a healthy baby girl namedGidget. What more could a couple long for; financial stability, a new home, ahealthy baby, and each other. However there was something missing, Kenny knewwhat that something was, for he was raised a pastor's son, and went to churchmost of his life.

The New Birth & Call into the Ministry: The answer to this void in Kenny'slife was Jesus Christ. On September 19, 1976 at twenty minutes until eightO'clock at Ohio Furnace Enterprise Baptist Church he gave his heart and life toJesus Christ. Several months passed as Kenny matured as a Christian, and thenhe received the call into the ministry. Kenny's father had become terminally ill withcancer, and Kenny helped him pastor Symmes Valley Church until his father hadto give up the church for health reasons.

Pastor and Leader: Kenny continued to grow as a preacher, and came topreach at Pine Grove at the little school house with no indoor plumbing. It didn'ttake them long to realize that God had placed him there, and they extended anoffer, as had several other churches, to Kenny to become pastor, but God's willwas (and remains) that he lead the congregation at Pine Grove FWB, and lead hehas! Brother Kenny became Pastor on September 27, 1981. The church soonafter began to grow, and more room was needed. A beautiful new church waserected, and although many improvements have been made, it still serves thespiritual needs of the community today. "Brother Kenny is a wonderful individual, a great man of God, and also a very

close friend" says Brother Brian Long. Brian also goes on to say, "My initial impres-sion of this church was that there was a lot of love and caring here. This love ofGod, and the love for one another is what continues to make this church very spe-cial to me and my family. I have a great deal of respect for Brother Kenny, morerespect than he will ever know. I respected and still respect my father more thatany other human, but Kenny is a close second. I have grown and learned a lotunder Kenny, and I thank God often for his acquaintance along with his leader-ship." These types of statements seem to be echoed by many of those at PineGrove. Brother Kenny's knowledge of the scriptures along with his compassion forpeople has helped this church, and it's congregation grow in many ways.

Recent Additions and Blessings: Pine Grove FWB Church has recentlybegan construction on a new fellowship hall, kitchen, restrooms, shelter, and astorage building, they are also installing a baptistery, as well as placing a steepleon the church. This construction has spurred interest in the community. Thechurch has seen a recent growth spurt, and it scorns everyone is excited aboutthe spiritual services they have been enjoying. "I have never been more excitedthan I am right now; every time I come to church I expect to see several on thealtar" Brother Kenny said following a wonderful service in February of last year. Aservice that seen two precious souls won to the Lord, a new member was alsotaken in, and the power of the Holy Spirit was awesome.

Conclusion: The past 25 years at Pine Grove have been challenging yetrewarding for this small country church. They have weathered many storms, buthave also enjoyed lots of sunny days as well. This church lives by an old songtitled, "Sheltered in the Arms of God". This definitely describes this wonderful littlechurch, but if things continue they will not be considered a little church any longer.Dedication, and obedience to God's will ensure that this church will be blessed forthe next 25 years and beyond. Pine Grove FWB would like to thank Kenny andCheryl for their dedication and service to the Church, but more importantly theirdedication to Jesus Christ. May God richly bless you and your family.

Editor’s Note: Brother Kenny recently has had to retire because of health reasons. We sure appreciate his and Cheryl’s long standing service to the Lord.

HAMILTON GLADES (PORTER)Hamilton Glades Church, under the

leadership of Pastor Mike Simpson, wish a Happy New Year to all ourChristian associates through and bythe Ambassador!

The indwelling beauties of gloriousfellowship still present in our hearts andminds, from the many diversified pre-sentations in honor of our Saviour'sbirth, make it seem almost impossibleto express thankfulness for the good-ness of God in a few short paragraphs.

Since the last report Hamilton Gladeshas reveled in spiritual unity with theKamer family for an, "OLD FASH-IONED DAY" celebration. Space waslimited at that time, but we now have anew, more spacious, fellowship hall.We thank God for that added conven-ience.

Knowing that nothing on earth is ofmore value to God than "His Church",we at Hamilton Glades direct ourprayers, and focus our minds, on 'Unityof Spirit', as we read the reports fromother churches in the Ambassador.

New souls for God is our prayer for2006!

The muted rumble of more than 150 excited voic-es stilled reluctantly as National Moderator TimYork welcomed attendees to the opening sessionof the 2005 Free Will Baptist LeadershipConference. Leaders representing more than 23states, Canada, France, and Panama gathered toaddress the theme, "A Better Survival Strategy."Services and seminars dealt with the difficult andimportant topics of depression, ministry burnout, and strategies for more effectiveministry.

LEBANON (LITTLE MIAMI)"Rejoice in the Lord always, and again

I say rejoice." -Philippians 4:4We've just celebrated another year

and another birthday of our Lord. He

came into this world as an innocentbaby, lived His life as an example, thengave His life on the cross so that wewho accept Him could spend eternity inHeaven. That is surely something torejoice about.

We're thankful for the visitors whohave been coming to Lebanon FWB.Since last writing two new membershave been added to our church family.Don and Marcella McKinney took mem-bership and we're so glad they did.

On November 12th, our bi-monthlysinging, we were blessed to have Rodand Lora Hutchinson singing for us.Thank the Lord for them and all thesingers who go out spreading God'sword in song and testimony.

November 20th a special candlelightservice was held in the PM service.Everyone lit a candle as they told whatthey had to be thankful for. It was agood service.

The ladies ornament exchange waspostponed from December 8th toDecember 15th because of snow.Again on the 15th, Mother Nature didn'tcooperate so well...but the ladies whodid make it out had good fellowship andlots of food.

December 11th was the ChristmasDinner. As always, there was plenty offood to be shared with friends and fam-ily. Thanks to all who participated!

December 25th...Jesus' Birthday, wewere so blessed to have a good atten-dance in the morning service, thelargest attendance we'd had for a while.P.M. Church was dismissed so every-one could spend time with their family.

Some of our members have beenabsent because of sickness. Bro.Bernie Sheppard is recovering fromknee surgery done just beforeChristmas. They all need your prayers.

May God be with you and bless youas we end 2005. Happy New Year!

ROSEDALE (TRINITY)Holidays are over and time to plan for

the upcoming New Year. We startedoff in November with our candlelightservice which was inspirational asalways, we had special singing as wellas special testimonies given.

We enjoyed our Christmas singing aswell, along with gifts for the children. We also had service on Christmasmorning which was very inspirationalgiven the reason we were celebratinghappened to fall on Jesus’ birthday.

We've had two young adults savedrecently which that in itself was worthcelebrating. Please keep these twoyoung people in your prayers that theywill stay strong in the faith and alwayskeep God first in their lives. We hadanother person in our church baptizedalso, keep him in your prayers as well.

Looking to the New Year, we are pray-ing that God will send us a pastor, someone who will give bring messageswe need to hear, also encouraged thediscouraged and hopefully bring thepeople back into the church that havegone back out into the world.

There is so many that need prayer, those struggling with their health, finan-cial situations etc., we need to keepthem encouraged and let them knowthat we have a heavenly Father whocan ease the pain of their burdens. It isso much harder to reach some, and soeasy to let someone else do the workthat we, as Christians should be doing.

Hopefully when we are making thoseNew Year resolutions we will take aminute to see how we can make a dif-ference in someone's life by makingthem aware of what God means to usand what He can do for them.

Keep our church in your prayers.Bev Fraley, Reporter

PORTER (PORTER)While thanking God for our blessings

in 2005, we fully acknowledge our needfor His care and watchfulness over usin the coming year. Many have suf-fered great losses and endured suffer-ing, but with His help we shall perse-vere.

This fall several special eventsbrought the opportunity for enlighten-ment and growth to various membersof our congregation.

The "Great Dad's Seminar," held forthe first time at Porter, was a blessingto all who attended with lessons, foodand fellowship.

To commemorate Veterans' Day, weenjoyed an unusual Sunday night'sservice. Brother Howard Richardbegan the service with his rendition of"I Am the Spirit of America". Our churchchoir then presented a patriotic musicalmedley, followed by Brother DaleChamberlin singing "Under God", andBrother Dave Chamberlin's presenta-tion of "The Statue of Liberty". We thenhad the pleasure and honor of welcom-ing our guest speaker, Lance CorporalJames Howard of the U.S. MarineCorps who delivered a stirring mes-sage. James is loved and respected byall who know him, and we believe Godhas great plans for his future. His intro-duction by Brother Bill Etterling wasespecially poignant as James was avery close friend to Bill's son, LanceCorporal Jonathan Etterling, USMC,who was killed in Iraq in January 2005.We should remember Jonathan's fami-ly daily in our prayers.

We had one conversion when JeffWright accepted the Lord. It is a pleas-ure to watch his growth.

Brother Tary Chamberlinpreached for us in November. This is arare treat as his health prevents hisdoing so as often as he would like. Heand his wife Evelyn both need ourprayers.

We lost a loyal member who loved theLord when Sister Dorothy Dryden died. She had been eagerly awaiting her callfor some time. Brother Jim Garrett'smother died soon after a serious fall, leaving a grieving family. We are com-forted by their assurance of heaven, but we still miss their presence herewith us.

For Christmas our youngsterstouched our hearts with their play, "The First Leon", and the annual Christmascantata was beautiful as usual.

At our last prayer meeting of the year,Brother Neil Gilliland challenged usto "know Jesus" as we really should inthe coming year.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I pray that you had a wonderfulChristmas celebration and thisNew Year finds you with new ener-gy to go forward for the cause ofChrist.

At the Redeemer FWB Church we have spent some recent time reflect-ing on God's blessings of 2005. As a favorite old song comes to mind,"Count Your Blessings," it is amazing how unlimited God's goodness andprovision are when we take time and begin to "name them one by one."As reflection goes, at the London mission we recognize some of theareas where improvement is needed; at the same time we are so thank-ful for the areas we have grown as a body of believers and we are excit-ed about the opportunities the Lord has put before us to grow and serveHim.

We began the year with a Celebration Service, dedicating our new facil-ity, and were blessed with over 138 in attendance. In August we held ourfirst Vacation Bible School, and in September we had a turnout of near-ly 200 at our Community Carnival, many unsaved and/or without achurch home. We have also opened our facility up to host a local GirlScout Brownie troop, and we held our first wedding in November. Theseare just a few of the highlights of the opportunities we have been blessedto receive and use for the furthering of the gospel in the London area.

For recent updates and events, check out our new website atwww.redeemerfwbc.com . Click on "Contact Us" and submit yourchurch's e-mail address to receive e-mail updates.

Special Missions OfferingAs you may be aware, financial burden is always a concern of any mis-sion project. The Redeemer Church will be sending each church a letterin January with more details about a special missions offering we will beasking each church to participate in. This free will offering will be solelyto help bring some financial relief for your three Ohio State mission proj-ects - Hamilton, Ashtabula, and London.

Thank you sincerely for praying for us and continuing to financially sup-port us as we do our best to be salt and light in the London area.

May God bless you abundantly!

When ourfocus is appropriately directed on Him,it can be a time to rededicate ourselvesto the service of the Lord. Here atDailyville, we have seen such a com-mitment being made by our members. In the last year we have added ninenew members and two new deacons. There has been so many peopleexpressing interest in wanting to workfor the Lord.

This new year will be a time of bothfilling church offices and planningevents in which the Lord can be glori-fied. We desire your prayers in theseupcoming decisions.

Looking back on 2005, our church ispleased. In October our youth, underthe direction of Monica Crandall, per-formed "The Choice Is Yours" (whichwas also written by Monica). They didan amazing job with their performance.

In November our Pioneer Clubenjoyed a Western Hoe Down in ourfellowship hall, our youth hosted anOSU/Michigan party, and our Ladies'Auxiliary conducted the AnnualThanksgiving Eve Service. In themonth of December we were busy witha Children's Christmas Program, AdultCantata, Christmas Caroling,Thanksgiving-Christmas Dinner, as

well as our regular Nursing HomeService and our regular Sunday andWednesday services. In all that we doour main focus is to turn others' eyeson Him.

For the new year, we ask that youcontinue to remember us in yourprayers that we can minister to asmany souls as possible in our commu-nity of Dailyville and the surroundingareas, and that we will never shy awayfrom the calling of our Heavenly Father.

MADISON (PORTER)Greetings from Madison church. We

have had so many blessings from theLord this past year it would be impossi-ble to name them. What an awesomeGod we serve!

Our Christmas program was good, asusual Sister Kelly Martin did a great jobwith the young people.

Our watch night services waspreached by Brother Mike Leslie. Itsure was a blessing to all who attend-ed. It is one of the best ways to cele-brate New Year's Eve is with our broth-ers and sisters in Christ, praising theLord. Of all the resolutions that aremade this time of year, the best one Ican think of is to be a better servant ofthe Lord. We need to let our lights shinefor the world to see Jesus in us.

Love and prayers to all.“For we are labourers together with

God: ye are God's husbandry, ye areGod's building.” 1 Corinthians 3:9

BETHESDA CHAPEL (PORTER)Greetings again. Like everyone, we

too were busy the past two months withall the holiday services and prepara-tions, but it was fun, fun, and more fun.The Youth Pioneer Club gave thechurch a special Wednesday nightservice with their “Carols of Christmas”presentation. There was a great turnoutof kids and visiting parents. The youngpeople mean a lot to the church.

A group from the church choir pre-sented a musical titled “What Child IsThis”. God’s Spirit touched the 10-member group that Sunday morning. Some suggested a few of God’s angelswere in the mist as well. I know thesinging was great and was enjoyed byall. We also had our Christmas dinnerand fellowship. It’s always fun to gatherand fellowship, especially aroundChristmas time.

What made these past months soenjoying was the working together of allin making everything come together:decorating, cooking, practicing specialsongs, making Christmas treats, deliv-ering fruit baskets, 40 OperationChristmas Child shoeboxes, financialgifts to special needs, and on and on.Thanks to all and “Praise and Glory toChrist” who makes it all possible. Andwhat could be better than to announceanother precious soul, Peggy, acceptedChrist as her personal Savior. She willbe baptized New Year’s Day.

In closing, we want to mention havingP.J. Fitch, Brad Hitchcock, andEmil Cartee as visiting preachersduring November and December. Weappreciate these men and the mes-sages they gave. Also, we ask that youalways remember Bethesda in yourprayers and a special request that youcontinue to remember our shut-ins.

SCIOTODALE (PINE CREEK) “Praise ye the Lord. praise ye the

name of the Lord; praise Him, o ye ser-vants of the Lord.” Psalm 135:1

Greetings in the name of our Lord andSavior Jesus Christ. It has been a glo-rious year here at Sciotodale and asthis year comes to an end our prayersare that God will continue to give us Hisblessing.

We have seen many souls saved andmany rededications and baptisms thispast year. Our church is growing and the spirit ofall our services give great joy to mem-bers and visitors alike. Prayers for heal-ing have been answered as we haveseen cancer patients go into remission, surgery patients recover completelywithout complications, and depressedspirits once again lifted. We have beenpraying for over twenty people who cur-rently have cancer or are recoveringfrom cancer that live in our area. PraiseGod for the power of prayer.

Our men's group, SAMM, has beenmaking plans to attend the Ohio Men'sRetreat on February 2-4. They areplanning a soup and sandwich lunch-eon after church on January 15.Donations from this luncheon will helpwith the cost of the retreat. The junior church and youth group of

Sciotodale has grown dramatically thispast year. Many young, tender soulshave been saved due to this great min-istry. A great, big "Well Glory!" goes out

to George and Lena Grice and all theirhelpers for their dedication to theseyoung people who are the foundation ofthe future church.

As I bring this article to a close, Iwould like to tell you about a stirringevent that occurred on Christmas dayat Sciotodale. We held the morningservice not knowing how attendancewould be, but praise God, we had 123in attendance and the greatest thingwas that we were privileged to baptizedeleven year old Aaron Akers. Aaronwas saved at home around the 16th ofDecember, and promptly told his moth-er that he wanted to be baptized onJesus' birthday. We had a wonderfultime doing that! There certainly couldnot have been a better day to confirmhis new life in Christ that Christmasday. Isn't it wonderful what God can do in

our lives when we turn everything overto Him and become as a little child? Please pray for me as I once againbecome the reporter for Sciotodalechurch to the Ambassador.

SWAUGER VALLEY (PINE CREEK)We pray that all have had a wonderfuland joyous Christmas and a HappyNew Year. We have enjoyed manywonderful services this Christmas sea-son. Over the past month, we havelooked back with thanks that our Saviorwas brought into this world as a babe ina manger. Now we look forward withthe knowledge that our Redeemer willsoon return as the "King of Kings andLord of Lords."While we were rejoicing in the Spirit of

Christmas, our hearts were saddenedas we lost a brother in Christ. Brother

Steve Williams went on to be with theLord in December. We are sure thatSteve, Tom Hammond, and DonaldMuck (all of whom we miss dearly) hadtheir best Christmas ever this year.Isaiah 57:1 says, "The righteous per-isheth, and no man layeth it to heart:and merciful men are taken away, noneconsidering that the righteous is takenaway from the evil to come." Each ofthese three are in a far better place now than any of us.Let us all look forward to 2006, but let

us remember that we are not promisedanother day on this side of eternity. Letus pray, one for another, that all of uswill persevere, endure, and grow instrength and love in this coming year, should the Lord tarry. May God blesseach of you.

WAKEFIELD (PORTER)Well, here we are starting off with

another new year, and we pray that theyear will bring joy and happiness toGod's children, and salvation to the lostthat they, too, will know the joy that onlycomes from having Christ in the hearts. Many good things happened down

through 2005, but also manyheartaches. There is always a sadnesswhen we hear of the death of anotherone of our military personnel, anotherloved one that won't be returning home. And so many reports of cancer, fromthe young to the old. Our preacher’s son who served in Iraq

for a year has had a mysterious illnessthat has put him in the hospital threetimes since November 14th. He needsprayer that someone, somewhere, canfind out the problem, and he will havehealing. We know that the GreatPhysician does the healing, eventhough He works through doctors andmedication sometimes. But there is always something to

praise the Lord for, and every time wehear of someone getting saved, bap-tized or renewed, it is surely an uplift tothe heart. We've had some really good services

at church, the Lord's presence so richand sweet. As I sit at the piano, it is ajoy to look back and see tears flowing, hands waving in praise to the Lord andsome "hurrahs for Jesus" etc.We had our Christmas program

December 18th, and enjoyed the chil-dren and adults who took part. We gota chuckle from our elder preacher Bro.Ernie Evans, as he started to speakhis part, and pulled a fast one on us,and said, "T'was the night beforeChristmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even amouse!" Needless to say, we got agood laugh. All the children did good, but little five year old Benjamin Howardhad his part down pat, and spoke intothe mike like a pro. So cute!We met December 21st at church and

fixed seven nice bunches of groceriesfor helping baskets, and then afterwardsome of us went caroling in the com-munity and gathered back for food andfellowship in the fellowship hall. ThankGod that Christmas means Jesus, sweet Jesus to me, and to many. Nomatter how hard some try, they can'teliminate Jesus: He was, He is, andHe will be, forever! Have a great NewYear!

Ohio Free Will Baptists are scheduled to host the National Association of Free Will Baptists July 19-

23, 2009 in Cincinnati, Ohio. We need to raise $30,000.00 for the arena. At last year’s Ohio StateMeeting, we voted to ask all our conferences to raise $200.00 per church. We have three years to raisethe funds, so if each church would send in $67.00 yearly over the next three years, this would raise theneeded funds.

The Central Ohio Conference has already paid for all their churches the entire$200 per church! I have set up a savings account that will collect interest, so the earlier you sendyour offering in, the more it will be worth.

Let’s make sure that we all do our part to be the best hosts possible for the 2009 NationalAssociation. Please send your offerings to:
