~ St. Pope John Paul II

Incense at MassPlease note that incense may be used at
Mass when the Knights of the Holy
Temple serve. There will be incense on
Sunday, Oct. 13 at 10:30 am Mass.
Special Collection: Oct. 19/20World Mission Sunday: We are Baptized and Sent!
In this Extraordinary
Missionary Month, we are
called to a personal encounter
with Jesus Christ, alive in the
Church. We are asked to offer
in this Eucharistic celebration,
our prayers and our generous
financial support to continue the
mission of Jesus, through the
Society for the Propagation of
the Faith. We are “sent” out to witness in the world through
our prayers and personal sacrifices.
As little as $25 helps support a catechist for a month in
remote Latin America. Less than $75 provides for the work
of religious Sisters caring for orphaned children in Africa.
$100 assists poor children in boarding schools in Asia.
As always, your prayers are your most treasured gift to the
Missions. Your prayers and financial help offered this month
will support mission priests, religious Sisters and Brothers,
and lay catechists who are Christ’s witnesses to a world so in
need of His healing, love, and peace.
Personal Emergency FundHow much money should you have tucked away in an
emergency fund? Three or six months expenses depending
on a couple factors, according to Dave Ramsey.
Join us for Financial Peace in January, 2020, to learn more
about building your emergency fund!

Fall Campaign
Why 40 Days for Life?
For 40 years the Israelites wandered in the desert. Moses
was on Mount Sinai for 40 days and nights, and it was 40
days Jesus prayed in the wilderness. Our Lord stayed with
His disciples for 40 days after His resurrection. The 40 Days
for Life campaign stands on Biblical roots to help those who
cannot help themselves. Are you ready to stand up for life?
How can you make a difference?
The national 40 Days for Life Campaign is peaceful,
prayerful, and effective. In Indianapolis, a prayer vigil takes
place in front of Planned Parenthood, each day from
September 25 until November 3, 7 am – 7 pm.
St. Alphonsus Liguori Embrace Life Ministry will stand
in prayer on Sundays, 2 – 4 pm throughout the campaign.
The parish Knights of Columbus witness on Mondays,
5 – 6 pm.
Register online at www.40daysindy.org.
