Bon Travail !

Kelly is writing in her diary. Dear diary, This is what I can see from my bedroom window ; it is 9 o’clock in the morning
on Tuesday, June 8th. The street is very busy this morning. Patrick Thomson and his girlfriend are kissing outside their flat. They must really
love each other. Mrs Jennings is eating a nice raspberry muffin. Jeff Walters is running very fast. He must be late for school. He must hurry up to catch the 9 o’clock bus in front of the bank. Mr Parker is driving his new red car. Jenny Ewing is walking her dog, Pongo. The Stevenson brothers are still playing basketball around the corner. They must stop to go to school. My neighbour is speaking with my Mum behind the telephone box. Oh no, Pamela is crying …again ! She must be sad. Maybe she is waiting for her dad. He is buying the newspaper at the newsagent’s.
Finally, I can see the paper boy. He is riding his bike. He must be careful because there is a lot of traffic in the street. He must deliver the papers before half past nine. I must leave for school now, so I am closing my diary.

ATTENTION :
MUST exprime l’obligation (forte). C’est un modal (comme CAN, CAN’T), il n’est donc jamais suivi de TO, d’un -S et de -ING.
-You must do your homework after school. it is very important.
MUSTN’T exprime l’interdiction. -People mustn’t smoke at the cinema. It is illegal.
III - LES DATES
Pour écrire une date, exemple : JEUDI 10 OCTOBRE
⇒ Thursday, the tenth of October. Pour écrire l’année, coupez-la en 2 : exemple : 1492 = 14 / 92
⇒ fourteen ninety-two ATTENTION :
(first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth, sixteenth, seventeenth, eighteenth, nineteenth, twentieth …)
