IT qualifications are in high demandThe NZ Certificate in Information Technology Essentials [Level 4] is an online programme of study requiring the successful completion of four 15 credit courses. Every course is compulsory. All courses are delivered over 10 weeks. If you want to study full-time you can enrol on more than one course at a time.

TIMETABLEYou can fit your study around your work, family and lifestyle – there is no need to be a full-time student while studying with TANZ eCampus. You can work and earn. All study is completely online – with supportive facilitators and advisors to help you along the way.

You should plan to spend approximately 600 hours of online learning time to complete this programme.

ENTRY CRITERIAAcademic Requirements

▶ 40 credits NCEA Level 1, including 10 literacy credits and 10 numeracy credits or

▶ NZ Certificate in Computing (Intermediate User) [Level 3] OR

▶ Demonstrated equivalent through study, work and/or life experience.

Technical RequirementsThis course has some technical requirements. Please enquire directly with TANZ for the full list of specifications.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ENTRY REQUIREMENT

All applicants must have a level of English sufficient to be able to study at this level. Those applicants whose first language is not English should have:

▶ An International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall academic score of at least 5.5 issued within the last two years, with not less than 5.5 in any category.

▶ Complete two years study at a New Zealand secondary school and achieve either NCEA Level 3 or New Zealand University Entrance or both.

ENTRY WITH CREDITYou may already have some knowledge or skills that can be recognised as part of your intended study. This may take a number of different forms, e.g. study at a private training establishment, workplace training, other tertiary study, life experiences or voluntary work. If

you think you may qualify, you may want to apply for Cross Credit or Recognition of Prior Learning.

▶ Cross Credit is based on the equivalency of courses or qualifications. You would apply for Cross Credit if you have passed a very similar course at the same level.

▶ Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is based on the assessment of your current knowledge and skills. You would apply for RPL if you had gained the relevant knowledge and skills through life experiences and informal learning situations.

You will be asked to provide details of anything that you would like considered as credit toward your intended programme of study, as part of your application.

You must apply prior to enrolment. RPL and Cross Credit cannot be awarded for a course if you are enrolled in that course. An original transcript or notice of results from the institute at which you previously studied (or verified copies) will be required for all applications.

ASSESSMENTSAssessments may include online assignments, tests and portfolio tasks. Assessment is continuous throughout the programme.

Student Loans and AllowancesStudyLink is a service of the Ministry of Social Development. Apply well before your programme begins (even if you haven't been accepted yet) so you'll be ready to get your payments when you need them most. Check out studylink.govt.nz or phone 0800 88 99 00. A Student Allowance is a weekly payment to help you with living expenses. It doesn't have to be paid back. A Student Loan is made up of three parts – compulsory fees, course-related costs and living costs. You have to pay these back.

STEP 2If you apply online you will be sent a form to check, sign and return to EIT along with any required supporting documents.

If you are applying by paper enrolment form, you will need to complete this and send back to EIT with any required supporting documents.

STEP 3You will receive an acceptance letter with programme information including your start date.

You need to complete these quickly and return them to us so we can finalise your enrolment. If you do not send these back to us we are not able to give Studylink the information they need to finalise your student finance.

STEP 4You will receive an invoice with payment details.
