Nysa is a town in southwestern Poland on the Nysa Kłodzka river with 47,545 inhabitants, situated in the Opole Voivodeship. It comprises the urban portion of the surrounding Gmina Nysa with a total population of 60,123 inhabitants. It is the largest city in Poland that is not located in a strictly "urban" commune.

Gothic building, built up in 1350. It’s situated downtown so it is excellent viewpoint.

Fountain of Triton

The marble fountain of Triton from 1701, with two pools, and Triton holding a conch which is supported by four dolphins

Bastion of St. Hedwig in Nysa

In 1870 the bastion was a jail for the French prisoners of the war, then there were barracks. After the renovation on the courtyard of bastion, since 2008, music and dance events and exhibitions have been organised there. There is also IT point and restaurants.

Church bell tower

It’s a 43-meter high tower. The tower was never finished (according to the plans it was supposed to be three times higher). It housed the 16-ton Jacob’s bell. It was burnt in 1945 and renovated later on. Currently it houses a treasury displaying masterworks of Nysa’s goldsmiths.

St Jacob and Agnes' church

The church was consecrated in 1198, however it reached its present form in 1401-1430. This 71-meter high building is surrounded by 19 chapels. The church burnt down in 1945 and was rebuilt between the years 1947-58. Colloquially it is referred to as a cathedral.
