Pooh and His FriendsStephen A. Schwarzman BuildingChildren’s Center at 42nd Street

You won’t find the real Winnie-the-Pooh in a movie or on a T-shirt, but you will find him—and his friends Eeyore, Piglet, Kanga, and Tigger—at The New York Public Library’s main children’s room!

Anyone can visit Pooh and his pals at the Children’s Center at 42nd Street in NYPL’s landmark Schwarzman Building. Pooh, who turned 90 years old last year, originally belonged to Christopher Robin Milne. His father, author A.A. Milne, wrote many adven-tures for the beloved bear and his friends, which millions of children and adults have read and loved in When We Were Very Young, Winnie-the-Pooh, The House at Pooh Corner, and other books.

Children from around the world visit the stuffed toys every day. Stop by and say hello to Pooh,

Eeyore, Piglet, Kanga, and Tigger—they’re always happy to see kids

and their families!
