Now three of his adjacent historic brick-and-limestone mansions that date to 1895 are getting a new life as a seven-unit condo. In what’s now known as 272 W. 86th St., Gilbert’s original facades remain intact, while the oversize homes boast modern flair. They range from three to six bedrooms and layouts vary greatly. Inside, open-plan kitchens have high-end appli- ances, master bathrooms have deep soaking tubs and polished chrome fixtures. For when the weather gets sticky, there’s central air. But this Brooklyn nabe is earning a place in the spotlight with its 30-story 1 Brooklyn Bay project, which the development team touts as South Brooklyn’s tallest residence. Sales launch this month at the development, at 1524 Sheepshead Bay Road, for those looking for one-bedrooms, four-bedrooms and everything in between. The building, designed by Perkins Eastman, will house 56 condos, as well as an outdoor pool, a bocce court, a dog run and a 2,500-square-foot fitness center — all over 2.5 acres. (There will also be 180 rentals, whose details were not immediately available.) Muss Development and AvalonBay are leading the project. David Villa isn’t goinganywhere.

There was speculationthat Villa would retire after his threeyear contract expired at the end of this season, but New York City FC silenced those rumors Wednesday by signing the reigning MLS MVP to a oneyear extension that willkeep him in The Bronx.

“I am so happy to play [atNYCFC],” Villa told The Post. “I am fit, the club spoke about joining for one more year and it was one of the easiest things I’ve done in my life.”

Villa’s contract extensionwas formally announced at P.S. 49 in The Bronx, where the former World Cup winner from Spain fielded tough questions from youngsters, like what’s his favorite pregame meal (pasta or rice) to whether he enjoys playing soccer (obviously). After all, the 35yearold could have easily called it a career after this season, but he’s not ready tohang up his boots just yet.

“I think I’ve improved,”said Villa. “With experience, games, with minutes on the pitch and outside thepitch, I keep learning. I’m a better player [now].”

Villa signed a threeyearDesignated Player contract in 2014 and, since then, he’s been everything NYCFC could have asked for. Arguably one of the best Designated Player signings in MLS history, Villa never took his foot off the gas, especially last season, when he scored 23 goals to win MLS MVP honors and led NYCFC to their first ever

playoff appearance.“When I look back to

those first days in 2014, it’s really amazing to see how far we’ve come in such a short space of time,” said Villa, who is NYCFC’s alltime leading scorer with 46 goals. “And to know that there is so much potential for us to continue growing, on and off the field.”

SPORTS SHORTSMLB: Jones, Gausman tossed as Bosox top O’s

Hours after Major League Baseball held a conference callto tell the Red Sox and Orioles to stop their festering feud, Baltimore starter Kevin Gausman was ejected in the second inning for hitting a batter and Boston went on to win 42 Wednesday night at Fenway Park.

Orioles center fielder Adam Jones was later tossed, too, soon after being upset by a called strike. On Monday night, the AllStar was the target of racial slurs, prompting apologies from the Red Sox, the mayor of Boston and the governor of Massachusetts. The Red Sox also permanently banned a fan from Fenway who used a racial slur toward another fan.l In Washington, Ryan Zimmerman doubled in the

goahead run, Jacob Turner worked four innings of scoreless relief and the Nationals beat the Diamondbacks 21.l St. Louis police are investigating after a 34yearold

woman attending the Cardinals’ game against the Brewers on Tuesday at Busch Stadium was struck by a stray bullet. She went to a firstaid station for treatment. A bullet was later found near her seat.lThe Rangers put lefthander Cole Hamels on the dis

abled list and expect him to miss eight weeks with a strained right oblique. … The Indians put righty Corey Kluber on the disabled list with a lower back strain.

NBA: Former Rookie of the Year Roy shotFormer NBA player Brandon Roy, who was Rookie of

the Year in 2007 with Portland, was one of four people shot while attending a party in Compton, Calif., on Saturday. None of the four victims’ injuries were lifethreatening.lToby Kimball, who starred for Connecticut and

played nine seasons in the NBA, has died at 74.

ETC.: Romo to chase title ... in golfA month after the Cowboys quarterback retired, Tony

Romo is among nearly 9,500 players who signed up for the U.S. Open. He plays an 18hole local qualifier Monday at Split Rail Links and Golf Club in Aledo, Texas, and would move on to sectional qualifying June 5 if he advances.l In Kansas City, Kan., Dom Dwyer scored two sec

ondhalf goals and Sporting K.C. beat the Red Bulls 20.

_ TAURUS(April 21May 21)

You have a fantasy that you cannot get out of your head, but you must not start thinking it is real. The planets warn if you try to bring it out of your head and into the world there could be trouble. Fantasies are for fun, nothing more.

` GEMINI(May 22June 21)

You could easily get worked up about something that most times would not bother you in the slightest. If you do start ranting and raving no lasting harm will come of it so long as you go back and apologize later when you've cooled down.

a CANCER(June 22July 23)

Selfbelief is wonderful but there are times when it is possible to have too much of the stuff. Your enthusiasm for a new project could lead you into some rather deep waters. Don't get so far out of your depth that you

cannot get back again.

b LEO(July 24Aug. 23)

You never like to admit that you were in the wrong but today you will have to own up to something that can no longer be hidden. The embarrassment you feel won't be so great if you put on an act and make like it's really no big deal.

c VIRGO(Aug. 24Sept. 23)

Be wary of people who try to persuade you to invest in a project today, right now, this very instant. Almost certainly they are trying to entice you into a situation that is designed to benefit them, not you. But you're not that gullible, are you?

d LIBRA(Sept. 24Oct. 23)

A relationship seems to be functioning a lot better now but

don't get carried away and start believing that you no longer need to make an effort. Having worked so hard to get back in someone's good books you must work just as hard to stay there.

e SCORPIO(Oct. 24Nov. 22)

Some people have a knack for rubbing you up the wrong way and one such person seems to have attached themselves to you of late. Don't get angry with them that's probably what they want just treat everything they say and do as a joke.

f SAGITTARIUS(Nov. 23 Dec. 21)

Don't push yourself too hard today. Get a nice easy rhythm going and work through your tasks at a pace that feels right for you. If you try to rush things you will almost certainly make

mistakes. Calm down. You're not racing against the clock.

g CAPRICORN(Dec. 22 Jan. 20)

A word of advice from you could be all it takes to help a friend or family member get over something that has been causing them grief. Others may feel their pain but what they really need now is your knack for coming up with practical solutions.

h AQUARIUS(Jan. 21 Feb. 19)

There are various ways you can make life easier for yourself and one is to not do so much. If you increase your workload or try to attend each and every social event you are invited to you will soon hit a wall. Moderation is a must.

i PISCES(Feb. 20Mar. 20)

Today's SunNeptune link encourages you to be true to who you really are. Too many times in the past you have moderated your behavior to fit in with how you think other people expect you to conduct yourself. It's what you expect of yourself that matters.

^ ARIES(March 21April 20)

There is always a danger in taking too much for granted and because you feel so in control of things at the moment that danger is doubled. Both in your personal life and at work there are unseen obstacles waiting to trip you up. Be careful.

BIRTHDAY THURSDAYTry to be more open aboutyour views and opinions

over the coming 12 months, even if especially if youfear that not everyone will

appreciate what you have tosay. Your message to the world is important don't

let anyone stop you delivering it.
