    MOE Tuition GrantMOE offers the tuition grant to help subsidise approximately 55% to 80% of your total tuition

    fee in NUS. The remaining fee payable ranges from about $7,000 to $32,000 per annum,

    depending on your nationality and course of study.

    While there is no repayment required for the tuition grant, non-Singapore citizens in receipt of

    it will be required to undertake a service bond by working for a Singapore-registered company

    for three years upon completion of their undergraduate degrees so as to discharge some of

    their obligations to the Singapore public for the high subsidy to their university education.

    A guarantor who is not a bankrupt

    and between 21 60 years old is

    required. He/she cannot be a party

    (borrower/guarantor) to more than

    one other loan agreement. Only

    Singaporean guarantors are acceptable

    for Singaporean students; Singaporean/SPR guarantors are acceptable for SPR

    students and Singaporean/SPR/non-

    Singaporean guarantors are acceptable

    for international students.

    The quantum varies according to the

    funds available in each individuals

    PSEA account. The PSEA can be used

    for payment of tuition fees (inclusive of

    mandatory miscellaneous fees) as well

    as enrichment programmes approved

    and endorsed by the University.

    1 Application for these schemes may be carried out upon securing admission to NUS.2 The loan quantum is based on the tuition fee rate for Singapore Citizens, e.g. the subsidised tuition fee payable for

    a Singaporean and an international Engineering undergraduate student in the academic year 2010/2011 is $6,890and $11,030 per annum respectively. The TFL quantum for an eligible international Engineering undergraduatestudent would be up to 90% of $6,890.

    3 Disbursement of funds is done at the beginning of Semester 1 and 2 provided that tuition fees are chargedfor that semester.

    B. NUS Administered Schemes

    (NSL)

    Needy undergraduatestudents who have takenthe maximum TFL and/orCES and/or TTFS coveragefor the tuition fee payable

    by Singapore citizens forthe same course of study1.

    Local and internationalstudents whose grossmonthly per capitahousehold income is not

    more than $2,400 and$1,200 respectively.

    The loan quantum is 10% or 20% ofthe tuition fee payable by SingaporeCitizens for the same course of study1and/or annual living allowance loan of$3,600. The loan can cover recipients forthe entire course of study.

    A guarantor who is not a bankruptand between 21 60 years old isrequired. He/she cannot be a party(borrower/guarantor) to more thanone other loan agreement. Only

    Singaporean guarantors are acceptablefor Singaporean students; Singaporean/SPR guarantors are acceptable for SPRstudents and Singaporean/SPR/non-Singaporean guarantors are acceptablefor international students.

    Existing and prospectivestudents may applyonline via the NUSFinancial Aid applicationsystem from 1 Februaryto 1 April.

    Supporting documentsmust be submitted to theOffice of Financial Aidwithin two weeks of theonline application date.

    Applications shouldbe made (1) as soonas possible after yourapplication for admissionand regardless ofwhether you have beenoffered admission toNUS and (2) regardlessof whether you intend toapply for scholarships and/or other forms of financialassistance offered oradministered by sourcesother than the NUS Officeof Financial Aid.

    Only one application isrequired for the studentto be considered for theNUS Study Loan, MOEBursary, NUS Bursary,NUS Student AssistanceLoan and Work-studyAssistance schemes.

    MOE Bursary2 Singapore Citizens whosegross monthly per capitahousehold income is notmore than $1,700 may

    be considered.

    The bursary quantum is up to $1,200per annum and is offered dependenton the assessed level of needinessof the applicant.

    Re-application is required every year.

    NUS Bursary2 Needy undergraduateswho have obtainedmaximum financingunder the TFL and NUSStudy Loan (with livingallowance) may beconsidered.

    The bursary quantum is up to $1,650per annum and is offered dependenton the assessed level of needinessof the applicant.

    NUS StudentAssistanceLoan(SAL)

    Needy undergraduatestudents who are inreceipt of the NUS StudyLoan with the livingallowance component.

    Recipients of the ASEAN/NUS UndergraduateScholarship, NUS FacultyScholarship, UniversityEngineering Scholarshipand such otherscholarships arealso eligible to applyfor this loan.

    The loan quantum is dependent onthe assessed level of neediness of theapplicant. The loan can cover recipientsfor the entire course of study.

    A guarantor who is not a bankrupt andbetween 21 60 years old is required.He or she must be a Singapore Citizen orSingapore Permanent Resident and mustnot be a party (borrower/guarantor) tomore than one other loan agreement.

    Work-StudyAssistance

    Needy full-timeundergraduate studentswho are in receipt of theNUS Study Loan may beconsidered.

    An international applicant must notwork more than 16 hours per weekduring term time. There is no suchrestriction during vacation time.

    Re-application is required every year.
