Practical Nursing is recognized today as an inte-gral part of the health care delivery system serving the patient’s needs. A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician, assisting with the planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
The GST BOCES Practical Nursing Program offers a 1200-hour educational program consisting of classroom and clinical instruction.
You will be taught to function appropriately within the curative, preventative and rehabilitative as-pects in different health care facilities throughout the area. Local hospitals and nursing homes serve as clinical settings.
Completion of this program of classroom instruc-tion and clinical experience will qualify you to take the National Council Licensing Exam for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN). This course is registered with the NYS Education Department.
TEST OF ESSENTIAL ACADEMIC SKILLS (TEAS) You will be tested in reading, math, English and lan-guage usage. You will also be asked to write an essay. You MUST sign-up prior to testing.
PROCEDURE FOR TEST ENROLLMENTEntrance Exam—$65.00 fee (non-refundable)Sign up over phone with credit card or come to Bush campus Building #8 & pay cash or credit card. NO personal checks accepted.

Tuition: 11 ½ months; $12,495BUSH & COOPERS: Classes start every August
Clinical hours and days may vary. Additional fees to cover physical, uniforms, testing, immunizations, stethoscope, etc. (Approx. $500)

COMPLETE ADULT STUDENT APPLICATION & FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA) https://fafsa.gov School Code: 012407 Submit an official high school transcript or GED, and any college transcripts at your testing date. After you have tested and submitted all paperwork, it will be re-viewed and a decision on enrollment will be made. If accepted, you will be notified of your admission into the program by mail and sent an Enrollment Agree-ment. Your position in the program will be reserved upon return of signed Enrollment Agreement, $100 enrollment fee (non-refundable) and class availabil-ity. PLEASE NOTE: Enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis. If enrollment fills, you will be put on a wait list.
Once you have returned your Enrollment Agreement you will receive a financial aid package with instructions.
Federal Financial Aid (including the Pell Grant, Direct Federal Loans) is available to qualified students attend-ing on a half-time or greater basis. Other sources, such as TRA, WIA and Veteran's benefits, may be available to qualified applicants.
