Success is everything to Husqvarna Motorcycles. Our brand has built
a reputation for producing machines capable of winning in the
toughest of
environments.
We’ve been around a long time - since 1903 in fact – and our 82
world championship titles are testament to our success, but we
prefer to look
to the future than the past.
Our latest challenge was our most ambitious yet – to join forces
with the BMW and create two revolutionary new road bikes that
combine the best
Italian styling, performance and race-bred components, with the
technical expertise and engineering prowess of BMW
headquarter.
The result is the Nuda 900 and Nuda 900R – the first two machines
in an entirely new generation of street motorcycles coming your way
from
Husqvarna Motorcycles.
4 5
Nuda means ‘naked’ in Italian. These two new machines exude
confidence and don’t hide their engines behind plastic body-kits -
everything is on show, from the BMW-developed, Husqvarna-tuned
900cc engine to the exposed trellis frame, high-level exhaust and
red rocker cover.
Take your pick from the Nuda 900R - proudly displaying Husqvarna’s
distinctive red/white competition colours and definitely not for
the faint hearted - or the Nuda 900 in a more subtle, but no less
intoxicating black/white colour scheme.
Stripped to the bare essentials, tuned for performance and equipped
with top-grade, race-bred components designed to provide a
gratifyingly addictive ride, the Nuda 900 delivers on all
levels.
NUDA MEANS ‘NAKED’ IN ITALIAN
6 7
The Husqvarna design philosophy comes straight out of Biandronno,
Italy, and our talented team of designers at the Centro Stile (the
company’s design studios) all live and breathe motorcycling with a
passion that is unrivalled. For them, the way a motorcycle looks is
just as important as the way it handles - that’s why the Nuda 900
has been designed to turn heads, stop traffic and invoke feelings
of envy and desire in others wherever it is ridden.
Everything about the Nuda 900 series has been styled and engineered
to allow form and function to work in perfect harmony, the result
of which is a pair of new motorcycles that look like no other, each
bringing everything we know about dynamic and exhilarating sporting
performance into the on-road segment.
Provocative looks flow throughout the Nuda 900. The front view is
dominated by sharp, carved edges with angular headlight and air
inlets integrated into the front end. With no ‘parts bin’ to raid
from other models, our stylists have enjoyed a free rein to create
the distinctive look of these two new machines from the ground up.
Their focus was clear: to design
‘movement’ into the Nuda 900, giving the impression of a motorcycle
straining at the leash and barely confining its explosive
potential, even at a standstill.
The wide bars, angled front fender and fat forks add to the Nuda’s
aggressive profile, while the slim rear end derived from our rich
racing heritage conveys its sporting credentials. The exposed
tubular trellis frame wraps itself around a compact, but powerful
engine that’s just too good looking to be hidden behind a plastic
body-kit, while the low-slung sports exhaust and black, cast
aluminium wheels enhance the menacing looks.
Undeniably stylish, these two Nuda siblings exude attitude in
abundance and exhibit everything we admire about good design “Made
in Italy”.
UNMISTAKABLY ITALIAN, UNMISTAKABLY STYLISH
8 9
As a proud part of the BMW family, we’re fortunate to benefit from
our parent company’s many decades of road-going engine development,
so instead of attempting to ‘reinvent the wheel’, we’ve opted to
use the ultra-efficient twin-cylinder motor from successful F
Series range for our Nuda 900.
However, in true Husqvarna fashion, our engineers have breathed new
life into this parallel-twin motor to provide Nuda owners with even
more power and torque - offering a ride to remember, every time
they start the engine.

With the excellent F 800 R motor as the starting point, the
Husqvarna engineers’ brief was to increase the fun-factor for Nuda
900 owners, with more response across the rev range, but without
losing any of the 800cc engine’s legendary reliability.
Along with a capacity increase to 898cc, a whole host of new engine
elements and expert tuning modifications have successfully
converted the power plant of the BMW F 800 R into the heart and
soul of the new Nuda 900/Nuda 900R. These include new forged
pistons, conrods and crankshaft, new camshafts rotating in a new
cylinder head, larger diameter valves and a new balancer conrod,
together with a different crank offset of 315 degrees, all helping
produce an impressive 105 hp and a mighty torque figure of 100
Nm.
What this all translates to ‘on the road’ is an explosive power
delivery from low down the range all the way to the redline, as
well as a ‘throatier’ engine sound and reduced engine vibrations
from the modified crank offset. With optimum power development
successfully achieved, opening the throttle of the Nuda 900/Nuda
900R will be your passport to a whole new world of riding
pleasure.
However, fuel consumption is surprisingly low, with a full 13 litre
tank of gas returning more than 250 km of riding pleasure.
Furthermore, a choice of engine mapping means that owners can
adjust the power delivery according to the conditions, for example,
selecting the ‘Rain’ mode in slippery weather.

The Nuda 900 shares its engine with the Nuda 900R but is styled to
appeal to those who prefer a more relaxed, smoother ride, often
with a pillion passenger.
Arguably less aggressive and less menacing, the Nuda 900 sends out
a clear statement of intent that performance, style and comfort can
be designed and engineered into a motorcycle.
Brought to life in the same ‘Centro Stile’ studios in Cassinetta,
the all black/white 900cc Husqvarna shares its exposed trellis
frame, high-level exhaust and sporty, dynamic looks with the ‘R’
model. Subtle but important differences include:
• Lower ride height than the Nuda 900R for a more relaxed,
user-friendly ride
• 48 mm Sachs front forks for a smoother feel
• In rebound and spring preload adjustable Sachs monoshock
• Double-level seat for greater pillion comfort
• Brembo four-piston radial callipers for ample stopping
power
• High-gloss side panels • Air-intake cover in matt black •
Excellent fuel consumption
of just 3.9 litres per 100 km at 90 km/h
• Extremely low dry weight: 174 kg • Fuel tank under the seat
for ideal weight distribution

Stripped to the bare essentials and exuding attitude and aggression
in equal measures, the Nuda 900R’s credentials are there for all to
see.
Combining exotic Italian design with the technical brilliance and
engineering expertise of the BMW Group, this road-going Husqvarna
begs to be ridden hard and is equipped with the kind of quality
components that allow you to exploit and enjoy its considerable
performance potential.
Unquestionably a Husqvarna, the Nuda 900R proudly displays
the company’s distinctive red and white competition colours,
hinting at the impressive racing heritage that includes upwards of
82 world championship titles achieved to date.
The heart and soul of the Nuda 900R is the technologically advanced
parallel-twin BMW F 800 R motor, increased in capacity to 900cc and
adapted to Husqvarna’s specific requirements to give the Nuda even
more power and torque across the rev range. Check out the red
rocker box cover too – you’ll see this Husqvarna ‘stamp’ on many of
our sports machines.
