Georges River Sailing Club would like to welcome you all to a great weekend of sailing on Botany Bay. This regatta is open to all Optimist class boats, (with invited classes including Laser 4.7/Radials, 29er’s, 420’s, Nacra15’s and Bic Techno). We have a fabulous beach for launching, plenty of space for many boats to launch together at once. The shallow beach water is easy for all abilities. Be aware that there is a deep shelf off the sand at very low tides. OPTIMIST GREEN FLEET You will be racing right in front of the club, where parents and friends can help you launch and watch you sail from the balcony above! Your Instructor for the weekend will support you both on the water and for activities on the beach. So come ready to get wet and have a lot of fun! ALL OTHER CLASSES (including Optimists, Lasers, 29er’s, 420,s, Nacra 15’s and Bic Techno’s) The rest of the fleet will sail out on Botany Bay. Many of you will already have sailed out in Botany Bay. If it is your first time on Botany Bay, please be sure to check the tides and weather so you know what to expect and use this information to your advantage. The Racing will go off for each Fleet in sequence, so be sure to stay well clear of the start line when another fleet is about to race.
