The Tallest Building in the World Cut & Assemble Burj Khalifa A. G. Smith
Just about anyone can build this magnificent 2-foot-high replica of the world’s tallest sky-scraper with little more than scissors and glue! Complete, easy-to-follow instructions and clear diagrams guide crafters in constructing an authentically detailed model of the Burj Khalifa, a 2,717-foot structure located in the center of downtown Dubai. This expertly designed model is fun and educational for ages 10 and up.
Dover Original.
BURJ KHALIFA FUN FACTS!
It’s presently the Tallest Building in the World (as of
January 2010)
It has 160 habitable floors! (If you count the floors used
for mechanical purposes such as air conditioning equip-
ment, there are 206 floors!)
The skyscraper was originally called Burj Dubai (burj
means “tower” in Arabic). It was renamed to honor
Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ruler of Abu Dhabi.
It stands 2,717 feet (828 meters)!
The tallest building in the United States is Chicago’s
Willis (formerly Sears) Tower. At a height of 1,451 feet,
it reigned as the world’s tallest building from 1973 to
1996.
Even if you put New York’s Chrysler Building on top of
the Empire State Building, that still wouldn’t equal the
height of the Burj Khalifa!
More than 12,000 people will occupy the building’s 6
million square feet!
The Burj Khalifa has the highest observation deck in the
world (on the 124th floor)! On a clear day, it’s a 60-mile
(100 kilometer) view!
