EU Declaration of Conformity This device complies with the essential requirements of the R&TTE Directive 1999/5/EC. This device is a 2.4 GHz wideband transmission system (transceiver) intended for use in all EU member states and EFTA countries, except in France and Italy, where restrictive use applies. In Italy, the end-user should apply for a license at the national spectrum authorities in order to obtain authorization to use the device for setting up outdoor radio links and/or for supplying public access to telecommunications and/or network services. This device may not be used for setting up outdoor radio links in France, and in some areas the RF output power may be limited to 10 mW EIRP in the frequency range of 2454 – 2483.5 MHz. Bracket Connector

Mounting BracketFor positioning the camera on a vertical surface (such as a wall or post) or horizontal surface (such as a ceiling or overhead beam): 1. Attach the base of the mounting bracket to the flat surface using the three included screws. 2. Screw the bracket connector into the back of the camera.3. Loosen the locking bolt enough to position and aim the camera as desired.4. Tighten the locking bolt to secure the camera in place.

Connections1. Connect the included power adapter to the camera.2. Use a standard RJ45 network cable to make your camera-to-LAN connection. NOTE: For wireless operation, see the Wireless Configuration section.

SoftWare

Installation1. With your computer on, insert the included software CD in the CD-ROM drive. The setup screen will display automatically.2. From the IP Camera Installation Menu, select “Intelligent IP Installer” and follow the subsequent on-screen instructions.

Accessing the Camera Using Intelligent IP Installer1. Before using Intelligent IP Installer, check that the following two settings are established. • On the browser’s Internet Properties screen, go to the Security tab and click “Default Level.”

• On the browser’s Internet Properties screen, go to the Privacy tab and confirm that the “Turn on Pop-up Blocker” option is deselected.

2. Click the Intelligent IP Installer icon on your desktop. The main screen will display, listing all active camera and video server devices. Select the relevant camera from the list and click “Link to IE.”

3. When the login prompt displays, enter your username and password. Both defaults are “admin.” Click “OK.”

4. If you’re accessing the NSC15-WG Network Camera for the first time, an information bar will appear below the address bar with the message “This website wants to install the following add-on....” Click the information bar, then select “Install ActiveX Control.”

5. When the Security Warning displays, click “Install.”

6. When live video displays, the procedure is complete.

Changing the Web Interface to Your Preferred Language1. From the IP Camera Installation Menu, select “Language Packs.” NOTE: An alternative path is to go to the camera’s Setting screen, then → Basic → System → Initialize; then click “Browse” to view the language options.2. Select a language, then click “OK.” The Web interface will automatically change to that language.

Viewing Camera Images through a Mobile/Cell PhoneThere are three ways you can view your NSC15-WG Network Camera images by using a mobile/cell phone: • For 3G mobile/cell phone viewing, enter “rtsp://<IP>:<PORT>/video. 3gp” into your 3G Web browser, where <IP> is the IP address of your camera and <PORT> is the RTSP port of your camera (the default value is 554). For example: rtsp://100.10.10.1:554/video.3gp.• For 2.5G WAP mobile/cell phone viewing, enter “<IP>/mobile.wml” into your 2.5G browser.• For 2.5G mobile/cell phone browser viewing, enter “<IP>/mobile.htm” into your 2.5G Web browser.

Viewing Camera Images through MS Live MessengerLive video from the NSC15-WG Network Camera can be displayed using Microsoft Live Messenger when the camera’s public IP address is provided to users for access via the Web browser. This feature is useful especially when the IP address of the camera is dynamically assigned. To set up MSN Messenger, go to the camera’s Setting screen, then → Basic → System → Network → Messenger; then set the “Messenger” option to “On” and follow these steps:1. In the “Login Account” field, enter a new MSN Messenger account (e.g., “camera at home”) for the camera.

2. In the two “Password” fields, enter a password.3. For “IP Notification,” select “On” to enable IP notification to the users.4. For “Privacy Option,” select “On” to create an allow list.5. Use your existing account to log in to MSN Messenger.6. Add the new MSN Messenger account (e.g., “camera at home”) to your contact list.7. The camera will send you a message with its public IP and private IP if the “IP Notification” option is enabled.8. Click on the small camera icon and select “View a new contact’s webcam.”

9. The camera accepts your invitation, and its live video displays on the right side of the screen.

Accessing the InternetInternet connectivity for the NSC15-WG Network Camera can be established by inputting the camera’s IP information in the Information section. Go to the camera’s Setting screen, then → Basic → Network → Information.

pppoe ConnectivityInternet connectivity for the NSC15-WG Network Camera can be established through PPPoE (Point to-Point Protocol) by inputting the username and password from your ISP (Internet service provider) in the PPPoE section. Go to the camera’s Setting screen, then → Basic → Network → PPPoE. NOTE: Reboot the camera after changing the PPPoE settings, and turn on the DDNS and IP Notification functions (on their respective menu screens) when using PPPoE.

upnp ConnectivityInternet connectivity for the NSC15-WG Network Camera can also be established if your router is UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) enabled. The camera is automatically detected and added to “My Network Places” on your computer. NOTE: Only home routers manufactured after 2006 support the UPnP function. If your router is a UPnP Internet gateway device (IGD), go to the camera’s Setting screen, then → Basic → Network → UPnP, and turn on the UPnP function. NOTE: If you select “Turn On UPnP Port Forwarding,” the values in the “MPEG4 RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) Port” fields will change, as shown below.

If your router is not a UPnP Internet gateway device, set up Port Forwarding or Port Mapping (as in the example shown below). NOTE: Home routers manufactured before 2006 and Enterprise and SMB routers don’t support the UPnP IGD function.

WireleSS CoNfiGuratioN The wireless network for the NSC15-WG Network Camera needs to be set up using a cable network connection. Once the camera is set up, the wireless function can work without the cable network connection. 1. Make your network connection. (See the Hardware section.) 2. Go to Setting → Basic → Network → Wireless, and select “On” to display the Wireless / Setting screen.

3. Click “Refresh” and all access points (APs) around you will display.

4. Select the AP you want to connect to. 5. Enter your password in the Active Transmit Key fields, if needed. If you don’t know the setting of the wireless AP, ask your network administrator.

6. Select both “Obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP)” and “Obtain DNS server address automatically.”

NOTE: If using a fixed IP address, you can select “Use the following IP address” and “Use the following DNS server address” and fill in the corresponding text fields accordingly. 7. Once you’ve connected to the camera with the wireless IP address, you can remove the cable.
