Starvation death of a MGNREGA worker


It is reported that by the state Govt. District Collector, Chitorgarh, has mention in her reports are as follows:

1. There is a RD Account (No. 378002674122) for Rs.200 p.m. in “Sahara India’’ in the name of Shri Kishan Singh in which Rs. 3200/- has been found to be deposited till 14th December,2009

2. There exists a job card of NREGA of the family in which the household has worked for 27 days.

3. There exist a Ration Card in the name of the family in which 5kg of wheatand 3lit. of kerosene for month of Nov-Dec were obtained.

4. The report further mentions that food was cooked twice a day in the family of Kishan Singh and that relatives had come to ailing Kishan Singh prior to his demise. It is evident from the the report of collector, that the death of Shri Kishan Singh cannot be linked to starvation under any circumstances.The matter looking to the purely humanitarian.
