Reduction factor for iron powder cuttingThe cutting speeds obtained from the diagrams are multiplied by 0,65reduction factor. This reduction factor is valid for general stainless steelqualities. In case of high nickel/chrome contents or special qualities, pleaseconsult GeGa.
Silicon steel (Si > 1,5%)The reduction factor of the cutting speed: 0,8
Note!If the alloy components are on the upper limit or not mentioned alloycomponents are present, please consult GeGa.

Schneidgeschwindigkeit undReduktionsfaktoren
Carbon contentThe following diagram shows thereduction factors of the cuttingspeeds at C-equivalent between0.2 % and 1.1 %. The attainable speeds relative
to material thickness and temperatures are shown in thecutting diagrams.
The resultant cutting speedcalculated with the C-equivalent reduction factor is the valid speed for the specific application.
Please note in addition that steelwith a C-content starting with 0,3 %tends to form cracks, if it is cut cold.
