Virginal !!!Before you get any funny ideas that he is how we say OriginalinColloquial hyderabadi.It was a brave attempt to begin with but our ChairmanRajivInsisted that we go ahead with the plan. Calling 41ers ona SundayMorning at 8 am to have idly's and that too at aBandi(thela). Gutsy.A call to Idly SamratVivek Gupta helped finalise the location ofcrime.Looking at the various ermutations and combinationswhich included distance from home, parking availability,typeof chutney,etc we finally shortlisted the BegumpetBandi.Frequent messaging onwhatsapp helped build the tempo aswe came closer to the D-day.On Sunday,as I drove towards the bandi, i would be lying if ideniedhaving serious apprehensions about the attendancefor the event...and then it happened.I started getting calls after calls asking for directions to thebandi and very soon there was a mini deluge of41ers outthere. The Tangents too made their presence felt.Without exaggerating, there were a few people who drovemore than 25 km to be a part of it. Idly's, Dosa's,Vada's&Poori' swere attacked with a vengeance. It was sothoughtful of Satti Anna to Get pure ghee and podi from homeWhichwhich we generously poured over the piping hot idly's.Thanks to Ambareesh we have some delicious pics of themorning madness.The Breakast was washed down with some adrak chaiprepared and served exclusively for us.The morning was a huge myth buster for me in variousways andI am glad that the event was a success... havemany more lined up in the near future.

When President Harsh agreed to come to Chennai a week before Diwali, it raised many eyebrows with the 41ershere in Chennai. In spite of multi various programs happening on Friday the 13 we pulled off a sort of coup byth
getting 4 clubs, the oldest (Club 1) and the youngest (Club 196) together with my own club (7) and PP Chettiar's club(42) to come together and have a joint meeting at Presidency Club, this being the first official visit of PresidentHarsh. First Lady Renuka was also present and interacted with select group of enthusiastic Tangents in theforenoon.
We expected about 30-35, but we had 48 41ers representing various clubs. It was an interesting meeting wheresome of the members asked for clarifications from the President regarding various issues concerning theassociation. President in his cool and composed manner answered all queries much to the satisfaction of everyonepresent. PP Sridharan Chettiar also addressed the gathering and informed the members present about theimportance of “Bonding.” InduChandhok, the founding father also spoke about the importance of participation if onehas to enjoy the movement. National Secretary Babji also motivated the members to be more involved andforthcoming. Two Past President's namely Sampath and Krishnakumar were present adding to the quality of thedeliberations and fellowship. All in all, it was a very happy evening. Thanks to Parul who ensured that the food andthe drinks was lip- smacking and enjoyable while quenching the special thirst of 41ers.

We moved to Pondicherry next morning by road and hereagain 41er P. Subramaniam coordinated brilliantly to ensurethat over 30 members from 3 clubs (30, 139, and 192)together with would be Tangents were present. This in spite,of the fact that many clubs were having their Diwali night, thesame evening. The meeting was very cordial and stimulatingand camaraderie was best in class. Kudos to P.Subramaniam, Prof. Nagarajan and team for organizing anexcellent meeting where members agreed to participate in amore effective way.

41er KG Shankar who has now become an all importantMLA in the Pondy government was present in spite of hisindifferent health. TrAnkit Gupta, Chairman Area 2, of theMSRT 39 was present along with Dr. ArjunSundaram,Extension Convener from the 41ers Area 2 was present andspoke about how Tablers and 41ers could join hands tobenefit the community. PP Ajit Khuller's presence was asurprise to everyone and made the meeting mostmemorable. C. Sivaramakrishna affectionately known asBabji played a sheet anchor throughout the meeting.
To sum up, it was a brilliant effort on the part of the organizers(Area 2) to plan and have meetings which will ensure that themovement grows and the hinges of friendship never fades.
It was Imm Past Area Chairman Rajesh Ahuja who mootedthe idea of a joint meeting to mark the visit of the newlyelected National President and Area Chairman to Coimbatoreon the 1st of October.
Accordingly, 41 Clubs No. 38 and 108 decided to cometogether to arrange for a Sunday luncheon meeting at theCosmopolitan Club , with 41rs. Bharat Shah and VishalSunda as hosts .
Our guests, Pres. Harsh Sehgal with his charming wifeRenuka and Area Chairman Sivabal were at the venue at theappointed time of 11.30 am, throwing to wind some theorieswe had heard about the contempt for punctuality north of theVindhyas !
In Coimbatore we like to keep things a bit formal and Harshwas pleasantly surprised to see the specially designedbackdrop . Chairman VinodAgarwala of Club No.38 andacting Chairman C.J.Narayan of Club No.108 took the stagewith the President and Area Chairman.
After the formal welcome both the Chairmen gave a briefaccount of the functioning of their respective Clubs. We hadan induction into Club No.108 in Maninder Singh which wasconducted with aplomb by Pres. Harsh.
41r Rajesh Ahuja introduced his successor 41r Sivabal whothen addressed the gathering, highlighting the need for jointmeetings and fellowship events.
41r and Past RTI President M.Jayakumar introduced ChiefGuest Harsh and pointed out to his enviable track record ofhaving attended 14 41 NAGMs of which 12 were without abreak.
Pres.Harsh in his address threw light on the activities of theAssociation including the recently concluded NAGM atHyderabad. He also spoke of forthcoming events like theHYM at Italy (which was being attended by eight 41rs fromErode – a record!), and the 41rs International Meet to be heldin Austria.

The first lady and President of Tangent Club Renuka Sehgal spoke on the role played by the Tangent Club and urgedthe ladies present to form a chapter in this city, recalling the fact that Ladies Circle had its origins in Coimbatore.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by 41r SatishSantanam, Secretary of 41 CLub No.38.
The official dry day was still about 12 hours away and the bar quickly swung into action and after some great fellowship,we trooped for a hearty lunch of idiyappam, biriyani, bisibele bath and more … details of which fail me thanks to theexcellent vodka !

A 27 member contingent left Mumbai International airport on the 28th of September to participate in the Round TableSeychelles Regatta and the inauguration of 41 Club of Seychelles.It was an opportunity to meet up with some 41ers of India whom we had not met before. The group consisted of 41ersfrom Salem, Coimbatore, Kottayam, Patna, Yercaud, Pondicherry and friends from Chennai.
The 6 days programme provided us the opportunity to link up with Tablers and Ex-Tablers of Seychelles and experiencetheir hospitality and fellowship. We were joined by EngelbertFriedsam, 41 International Immediate Past President andExtension Officer.
Round Table RegattaThe Round Table Seychelles Regatta is Seychelles' largest annual fundraising event. With a packed schedule thatincludes live performances by local artists, sports competitions and many fairground games, the regatta was a hype ofactivity in a beautiful seafront location.The regatta weekend brought many Seychellois local residents and tourists together for the high-spirited fundraisingevent. Local and international companies always support the regatta by running food and drinks stalls and promotionalstations, where members of the public benefit from generous giveaways and reduced-price goods. Attracting thousandsof people every year to Beau Vallon beach, the event invites everyone to enjoy a weekend of entertainment.This year's regatta beneficiary will be the School for the Exceptional Child, which will be refurbished using the fundsraised. Previous projects funded by the regatta's proceeds have included the provision of machines that detect cancerfor local hospitals, drug awareness campaigns and the purchase of new ambulances.
The president of Round Table Seychelles, Neil Puresh, said the proceeds would go towards carrying out a significantrefurbishment of the school buildings during the Christmas break, improving the environment in which the disabled pupilsand their teachers operate. The school is located in Roche Caiman.He described the regatta as a "one of a kind" annual event that provides a platform for businesses and individuals tocontribute towards the worthy cause, bringing the Seychellois population together. He praised the way in which it broughttogether many sectors of society such as culture, sports, young people, tourism and other aspects of people's day-to-daylives. This is in line with the Round Table International motto of 2017, “One World, One Table”.
Inauguration It was a delightful occasion, when in the presence of 41 International Extension Officer and Immediate PastPresident Engelbert, Round Table Seychelles President Neil Purush, Round Table AMI Chairman HerbertChombaMwansa (Africa, Middle East and Indian Ocean Region Chairman), 41 ers and Tablers from India, Madagascar,South Africa and Seychelles, the 41 Club of Seychelles was born.

The untiring effort of ShantilalDhanji (Former Treasurer, RTI)and Ex-Tabler Brian Jeffry saw the gathering of like-mindedEx-Tablers of Seychelles to form a National Club of FormerTablers.The Association was duly registered with the Registrar ofAssociations, Republic of Seychelles on the 21 st ofSeptember 2017. The rules governing the functioning of theclub was released during the inauguration.International Past President Engelbert inducted the Ex-Tablers of Seychelles into the 41 Club of Seychelles. Heurged them to follow up with the charter of their club.

Bangalore Bean Town Club 89 had their DiwaliBash on 14th of October at the brand new houseof their member 41er Aleem. Each and everyguests were personally escorted to the terrace byAleem's staff in his biometric operated lift. Guestshad started arriving by 8.30 pm and by 10 pm,over 70 people were present, there were 41ersfrom other clubs, proving that fellowship bondingin 41 goes beyond ones club.
Club Chairman Kamal and his Wife Rita, theirTangent Club President, called the meeting toorder, welcomed every one present, requestedyours truly to update on our Associationhappening. Meeting continued for another 15minutes with lot of interaction between floormembers and head table.Food and drinks were in abundance, all theguests were in their best of traditional ethnicoutfit, to visit Aleem's house and not havingBiryani is incomplete, best of Biryani awaitedevery one, one could see people relishing Biryanias if there is no tomorrow.Few guests had started leaving by 12 due torains but still few guests were entering at thattime, great evening.

This year the annual Diwali bash was hosted by me for club 110. Two other clubs from Mumbai,club no 80 and club no 182 also joined in the festivities. The national secretary tangent India BijalKalbag also graced the celebrations. The Mumbai clubs honored me with the torch bearer of theassociation award. Truly a humbling moment for me and Priti.All in all the wonderful spirit of friendship and fellowship along with a lot of fellowsip followed. Trulyour association is a family organization.

28th October was a landmark day for Bangalore Club 116 andCalicut Club 101, for the first time an intercity joint meet wasorganised in Bangalore this year initiated by Club 116. Therewere 13 visiting guest from Calicut to Bangalore. A grandsocial cum meeting was hosted by Club 116, led by dynamicChairman Sunil Bhatia, evening was hosted by 41er AliBadani, who celebrated his 50th birthday with 41ers, he wasgifted gold by his club members. It was an evening toremember, venue was the roof top restaurant in an upscale 5star hotel, with breathtaking view of Bangalore from threesides overlooking famous Ulsoorlake.In between the social, meeting was called to order by bothChairman, Club Flag and Pins were exchanged. Yours trulyexpressed his happiness on hosting such joint meet betweentwo inter city clubs. Suggested Club116 to do a reciprocal visitto Calicut 101 in near future.Party continued till the wee hours with plenty of food, drinks,dance and music. Thanks to Ali Badani for hosting a fabulousevening.

OktoberfestIn Area 3 the month of October is a special one, all the clubs look forward to Club 116
annual gala event OCTOBERFEST. This year it was no less, date and venue was blocked and
invite was sent out to all the Clubs by WhatsApp and personal phone call by Chairman Sunil
Bhatia and his team. On the D Day people started arriving around 1pm and by 1.30 pm, the
roof top open bar area in a posh restaurant OPEN BOX was full with 41ers and their better
halves, around 100 of all were there. People had come from all across Area 3, Mysore,
Tumkur, Hosur and visiting guests from Calicut were present in very good numbers.
It was non stop of Beer drinking in various combinations, there was bottled, drought beer
and variety of beer based cocktail. Many clubs had their meeting in between among their
club members, no one wanted to miss out an opportunity. Selfies and photo shoot was all
around, girls had come in their bestest. Every onewere seen enjoying each others
company. It was non stop fellowship till 6pm.
IPP Gopal Chopra and Smita were missed by each and everyone. Their presence always
add extra flavour to any event, despite that full marks to Sunil and team for giving a fantastic
afternoon to all in Area 3.
