Olive Crest Academy continues the utilization of Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) and believes that to best assist our students we must first change the lens through which we understand the difficulties they face. When we do that, we see that they need skills to help them solve the problems that are causing their challenging behaviors. Together, with compassion and empathy, we work with the students to help teach them the skills they need in order to solve the problems— This image captures how we can better “Reframe the Behavior”!

Sports @ OCA
Our middle and high school student athletes participate in the Freeway League, a league in which, they are able to play official games with other NPS schools. They participate in sports, such as football, basketball, and
soccer , to enhance their skills in collaboration as well as character building, leadership, sportsmanship, and support a positive school community. As part of the Freeway League, our student athletes have the opportunity
to participate in skills training, sport camps, and community-involved games.
“Choose Love”
This year, the Orange campus introduced a new Social Emotional Learning Curriculum, “Choose Love,” and will be
incorporating the themes- courage, gratitude, forgiveness, and compassion- in group therapy and in the classroom.
“Although we can’t always choose what happens to us, we can always choose how to respond. Children can learn to choose a loving thought over an angry one. When a child
realizes that they have the power to positively impact themselves as well as those around them, it is empowering
and perpetuates their positive actions and interactions.”

A huge THANK YOU
to our Olive Crest staff, friends, families and Party City for making this Halloween another great year at Olive Crest Academy. Your donations of candy and
costumes put smiles on the faces of our students during our annual Halloween Extravaganza!
Thanksgiving Baskets Thanks to the generosity of our OCA staff, we will
be sending 15 students home with Thanksgiving baskets filled with all kinds of goodies to prepare a Thanksgiving meal! Every year, 1 student per class (on each campus) is picked from a raffle and sent
home with a large basket—we can’t wait to find out who our lucky winners will be this year! Happy
Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving Feast! Another successful Thanksgiving
Feast in the books! We served all 154 students, 120 staff and a few of our hard working therapy dogs! Thank
you to all of our OCA staff who participated, as we could not have
done it without you!
