On behalf of Celebration’s Music Ministry, I would like to extend a special welcome to this year’s Christmas presentation! For two millennia, Christians have been commemorating the birth of Christ,

and for the majority of those years, music has played a pivotal role, providing the appropriate backdrop for moments of celebration, reflection, and jubilation. It is our goal to continue that tradition this year, and pray that this music inspires us all to find goodness and hope born anew in our hearts as we celebrate the miracle of Jesus’ birth. Please allow me a quick expression of thanks to a few people, namely: our pastor, Rev. Carol West, for her encouragement, leadership, and friendship; Celebration’s Instrumental Music Team: Kee Sourjohn and Kathy Ferguson for their talents and faithful ministry; Lisa Matthews and her music librarian volunteer, Dee White, for keeping us organized and on the right page; Sound Reinforcement Team: Cheryl Wright, Jess Unruh, and Tammy Richardson for continually making us sound our best; Celebration’s office staff: Tom Long, Pam Whites and Lisa Matthews for going above and beyond always; and finally, to the Celebration Choir, without whom I would be flailing my hands about for nothing—you are a blessing to us all! We are honored and excited that you are with us. And now, welcome to Gloria! A Christmas Celebration!

Blessings, Cory D. Curvin

Who Would Imagine a King?

Mary, Did You Know?

Glory, Glory!

We Three Kings

Come surely, Lord Jesus, as dawn follows night, Our hearts long to greet you, as roses, the light. Salvation, draw near us, our vision engage. One candle is lit for the hope of the age.

Come quickly, shalom, teach us how to prepare For a gift that compels us with justice to care. Our spirits are restless til sin and war cease

One candle is lit for the reign of God’s peace.

Invocation & Welcome

O COME, ALL YE FAITHFUL Wade

O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant, O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem; Come and behold him,

C E L E B R A T I O N C O M M U N I T Y C H U R C H

Hark! The herald angels sing; Glory to the newborn King!

Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled.

Joyful, all ye nations rise, join the triumph of the skies; With th’angelic hosts proclaim; Christ is born in Bethlehem! Hark! The herald angels sing; Glory to the newborn King!

The first noel, the angels did say,

Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay; In fields where they lay keeping their sheep, On a cold winter’s night that was so deep.

Noel, noel, noel, noel; Born is the King of Israel.

Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright ‘Round yon virgin mother and child.

Holy infant so tender and mild Sleep in heav’nly peace, sleep in heav’nly peace.

Silent night, holy night, Son of God, love’s pure light.

Radiant beams from thy holy face, With the dawn of redeeming grace,

Jesus, Lord, at thy birth; Jesus, Lord, at thy birth

O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie! Above thy deep and dreamless sleep

The silent stars go by. Yet in thy dark streets shineth the everlasting Light. The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee

tonight.

Angels we have heard on high, sweetly singing o’er the plain, And the message in reply, echoes back their joyous strain.
