Uh-oh, we had to cancel:Regrettably, if a minimum number of registrants are not met, we may have to cancel or combine classes. These decisions are made prior to the course start date. Please register early to avoid disappointment. A 100% refund is granted when we cancel a program. When a class has been cancelled due to instructor illness or weather conditions, a class will be added on at the end of the session. If this is not possible, a refund will be issued for the missed class.

Sorry, the course is full:If a program is full please ask staff to put your name on our wait list, staff review these lists continually and we will do our best to accommodate.

Extended Illness / Injury:In cases of extended illness or injury, a prorated refund may be granted with a medical note.

Missed Classes:Classes missed due to sickness, vacation or other reasons will not be refunded or credited.

Oops, changed your plans?For Island Savings Centre programs a credit in the form of a gift card or a refund will be issued if we receive withdrawal notification 1 week prior to the course start date. If less than 1 week’s notice is given, no refund or credit will be issued. In the case of week-long camps we require notification 2 weeks in advance of program start date. There may be other exceptions to these guidelines. In some cases, these exceptions will be noted in the individual course description. For North Cowichan Parks & Rec programs, please withdraw a minimum of three days prior to start date for a full credit or refund. Withdrawals can be made after this point in time, but a $10 withdrawal fee will be charged.

Refund Fee:Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for refunds to be processed.For Island Savings Centre programs refund requests are subject to a $5 administration fee, unless otherwise noted in course description.For North Cowichan Parks & Rec programs a further $10 refund fee is applicable. No refunds are permitted after the second class (note some classes have a no refund policy - check your receipt!).

ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

Cowichan Aquatic CentreLeisure Access ProgramProvides support, through program credits and no charge access to the aquatic centre, to individuals and families living below the Statistics Canada low income threshold. The program is available to residents of North Cowichan, the City of Duncan, Cowichan Tribes and CVRD Area’s A, B, C, D & E. To inquire or apply for this program please visit the front desk of the Cowichan Aquatic Centre. Apply in person at the front counter. 2653 James Street Duncan, B.C. Applications avalaible on line.

Island Savings Centre Recreation Access ProgramHelping eligible children, youth and families access programs and activities at the Island Savings Centre. Families who live within the Cowichan Valley Regional District, Island Savings Centre tax base are eligible to apply once a year. Requests are granted on a first come, first served basis with priority given to children, youth, and the most in need. Pick up an application form at the Island Savings Centre. Apply in person at the front counter. 2687 James Street Duncan, B.C.

JumpStart Program

Strong communities include strong kids. Canadian Tire believes all kids should have the chance to run, skate and play. Canadian Tire Jumpstart is a community based charitable program that helps kids in financial need participate in organized sport and recreation such as hockey, dance, soccer and swimming, so they develop important life skills, self esteem and confidence. KidSport CowichanA community based sport charity that provides grants for children 18 and under to participate in a season of sport of their choice. The Premiers Sports Award Learn to Skate ProgramPaying specific attention to developing important recreational skating skills, children progress through our 10 level program at their own pace, safely and confidently. All of our sessions focus on offering instruction to small groups of children based on their abilities. Bulk registrations are taken and then your child is placed in the appropriate group during the first session.
