Fr. Freddy invites you to A Holy Land Experience!
Treat yourself or a loved one to an adventure of a lifetime–a pilgrimage to the Holy Land with a Catholic Bible scholar, historian, and New York Times best-selling author as your guide. Directed by Dr. Marcellino D’Ambrosio (known as “Dr. Italy” on Catholic radio and TV), the trip departs on April 29, 2019, and returns on May 9, 2019. This trip, with wonderful times of prayer, liturgy & music daily under the spiritual direction of Fr. Freddy Perez, promises to be a fascinating journey into a deeper life in Christ and richer understanding of the Bible. This week in RCIA, we are thrilled to have Father Freddy teach us about the sacrament of reconciliation and penance. Reconciliation is a tremendous gift from Jesus to the Church. Baptism washes away our sins, but we all continue to sin after we are baptized. When we sin, we have the sacrament of reconciliation to restore us to a state of grace with God if we are truly sorry for our sins and desire not to continue to sin. "RCIA" stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. It's the process by which adults come into full communion with the Catholic Church. It's free, childcare is provided, we have a lot of fun and we always have something good to eat! If you have questions, feel free to email me at [email protected].

NUESTRO SEÑOR JESUCRISTO, REY DEL UNIVERSO 25 de noviembre 2018
“CRISTO REY”. ¿Cómo sufro y qué cosas me hacen sufrir?
Vivamos a Cristo. Obremos con Cristo. Obremos la verdad.
Hermana Gertrudis Muñoz Mendieta I.C.A.S.

Jean is a 47-year-old woman who has lived in her apartment complex for over 10 years. She lives a quiet life, living alone and working two jobs in the restaurant industry. Several months ago she underwent emergency surgery. Her recovery took two months. She had no medical insurance and went without paychecks all that time. She used her meager savings to pay for utility bills and food. She has since returned to work (both restaurants had held her jobs for her) but she fell behind on her rent. Jean is too proud to ask for help – she has always been able to support herself. Her landlord, who felt deeply for this woman was able to arrange to have her rent reduced (hard to believe in Midland right now!) but she was still having trouble catching up. Since she could not bring herself to ask for help, the landlord made the call to Helping Hands. He could not bear to see her face the plight of so many people in Midland who are daily rendered homeless over being unable to pay their rent. We paid the arrears on her rent, and she should be able to make it from this point on. We applaud her landlord for caring enough to go that extra mile to help someone in need. May God bless him and may He bless all of you whose donations make it possible to help these people who are in such great need!
