Researchers in Fundraising (RiF) is the Institute of Fundraising’s Special Interest Group for prospect researchers. For more than twenty years it has been the official representative body for the UK fundraising research profession.

Our 23rd Annual RIF Conference will take place at the prestigious Barbican Centre, and promises to be an inspiring and informative day. The morning plenary session will be given by Theresa Lloyd, one of the most

respected figures in UK Philanthropy. In her address, Ensuring research adds value to your organization (and the organization realizes it!) Theresa will suggest that research has a crucial role to play in the successful growth of philanthropic investment. She will examine how researchers should take the lead in understanding and raising awareness within their charity of the entrepreneurial mind-set and how wealth is created. She will also discuss the appropriate level of investment in research.

The afternoon plenary will take the form of a panel discussion, entitled The future of prospect research and will be chaired by Sacha Newman (Former RiF Chair and Prospect Research Manager at the National Trust.) The panel will include Deb Darling (Director of Prospect Development, Imperial College London), Dan Fluskey (Head of Policy, IoF), and Nicola Williams (Director of Research,

Factary) and will explore the challenges and opportunities

facing our profession. There will be 12 workshops to choose from showcasing case studies across the sector, best practice guides and the latest topics to hit the prospect research community. There will also be numerous opportunities to network with your peers in the sector, chat to relevant suppliers in our industry and come away fully equipped to refresh and revitalise prospect research in your organisation.
