International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women 25 November 2015

In preparation for the United Nations International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25, 2015, Walking With Our Sisters Thunder Bay continues to support and create awareness regarding issues directly and indirectly related to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW). We do this by strengthening our community through Bead-Ins which connects us to one another for strength, knowledge, and action!

We are inviting family members, friends, and the community to join us in a bead-in to create vamps or beaded hearts to honour the 153 reported missing and murdered women in the Thunder Bay area. The bead-ins will be hosted across the community in different venues to lead up to November 25: The United Nations Day of Elimination of Violence against Women.
