NEWSLETTER Week Commencing: Monday 24 February 2020
NOVEL CORONAVIRUS - UPDATE
A further letter has been sent to parents & carers regarding updated
advice from Public Health England. We have also provided a copy of the
latest information poster on page 4 of the newsletter, and these will also
be displayed around school as a reminder for students.
Good personal hygiene is the best form of protection. Everyone should
follow the ‘Catch-it, Bin-It Kill-it’ procedure for coughs and sneezes (catch
in a tissue, bin this, wash hands) and hands should be washed carefully
with soap and water regularly. As an extra precaution you can provide
your son/daughter with an alcohol hand sanitiser to use during the day.
Links to updated information are available on the school website.

ahead is as long as you make it. Make it worth the
trip.” Jon Bon Jovi
YEAR 8 SUBJECT CHOICES – UPDATED INFO
It was great to see so many parents & carers at our Year 8 Choices
Evening yesterday. We hope that you found it informative and helpful as
you begin to support your sons & daughters with choosing their GCSE
Options. There were some teething issues with the email address for
queries, so we can now confirm that you can get in touch via either of
the email addresses below with details of your query.
We are aware of that Business Studies was missing from the ‘Free Choice’
column on page 29, but the course content is there on page 31. Also,
Graphics with Art in the ‘Creative Element’ column should read as
Graphic Design which can be found on page 40. The online version of the
booklet has been updated to reflect this.
LES MISÉRABLES REHEARSALS
Please see page 3 of the newsletter for next week’s rehearsal schedule
including the weekend rehearsals for the cast & crew. The Cast need to
ensure they have all required items for their costumes, along with a
wooden hanger that is named for storing their costume backstage.

WORD OF THE CYCLE
Our next Word of the Cycle, which we will be incorporating into discussions
during lessons and tutor time with students, is below. We would be grateful if
you could continue to support this by using the word in conversation at home.
PRECEDE (verb): to come before something in time.

preceding lesson would help them access the work.
