Applications are invited from the practicing Advocates belonging to Scheduled Caste for filling up 01 vacant post of ADDITIONAL DISTRICT AND SESSIONS JUDGES by direct recruitment in the Uttarakh$nd Higher Judicial Service i in the pay scale of ~ 51,550-1,230-58,930-1,380-63,070, in accordance with the provisions of the Uttarakhand iHigher Judicial Service Rules-2004. Number of post may increase or decrease. 2. The number of the post is as follows: - (i) Scheduled Caste 01 The reservation for Scheduled Caste shall" be admissible to the candidates who are residents of the State of Uttarakhand only. 3. Applicants must have attained the age of :35:y~ars and must not have attained the age of more than 45 years on th:e 1 st day of January 2013. In other words, applicants should have been bor:n on or after 02.01.1968 and on or before 01.01.1978. However, the relaxation in age to the candidates of Scheduled Castes will be admissible as per rules of the State of Uttarakhand. 4. Applicants for recruitment to the service: - (i) Must be a Citizen of India, and (ii) Must be an: advocate of not less than seven years standing as on the first day of January 2013. 5. (i) The Charaqter of the applicants must be isuch as to render them suitable in. the opinion of the Governor, in all respects for appointment to the service. ' -1- (i) The applicants must enclose. a certificate of experience and Character from the District Judge of the :respective District in which the applicant is practicing as an Advocate lor in case, the applicant is practicing before High Court I Supreme! 1. 2. The number of the post is as follows: -(i) Scheduled Caste 01

,6. The applicant for recruitment to the Service must possess thorough

knowledge of Hindi in Devnagari Script and English. The medium ofanswering the questions shall be English as weil as Hindi. The questionpapers shall be in English only but the candidates will have a choice toanswer questions either in Hindi or in English.. .

Any person dismissed from service :bY the Central or StateGovernment or convicted by any court for an offence involvingmoral turpitude shall not be eligible for appOintment.

No person shall be eligible to be recruited unless applicant is ingood mental and bodily health and free from any physical defectlikely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties as amember of the service. The Selected candidate will have to undergothe prescribed Medical Tests and Characte'r verifications applicableto GazetledGovernment Servants of State of Utlarakhand.

A candidate, who has more than one living spouse at a time, shallnot be eljgible for appointment.

7. Applications will be entertained only on prescribed form given below,which can be downloaded from the website of the High Court ofUtlarakhand i.e. www.highcourtofutlarakhand.gov.in

8. Examination Fees ~ 500/- shall be payable in favour of'Registrar General, High Court of Uttarakhand, Nainital' by way ofaccount payee Demand Draft of any Bank payable at Nainital.

""9. True copies of certificates of academicqualific~tions / testimonials and

the demand draft of requisite fee must be enclosed along with theapplication. Application must be filled completely. Incomplete applicationwill liable to be rejected summarily.

10. The last date for submission of duly completed form before theRegistrar Generai, High Court of Utlarakhand, Nainital is 30th June, 2013by 5.00 P.M. The envelope containing the Application Form must clearlymention on its top "Application for the H.J.S.-2013". The High Court willnot be responsible for any delay whatsoever. APplication received afterthe last date shall.be rejected summarily. The list of candidates eligible toappear in preliminary examination shall be published on the High Courtwebsite by 15th July, 2013. , ~y

11. The written examination shall be in two parts

(i). (a) Preliminary examination;(b) Main examination

(ii). The Preliminary examinr,ltion shall be based on objective type multichoice questions (MCQ) of the duration of about 1 hour to test theoverall knowledge of the candidates with respect to the followings:(a). English Language(b). General Knowledge(c) Current Affairs(d) H:story and Geography(e) Science and Technology(f) Sports(g) Genera! Law and the Constitution of India

(iii) The Syllabu~ for Main examination i~. given at the bottom of thisnotification. i

(iv)· The basic knowledge of computer opemtion mentioned in Part I ofPaper I of Main examination shall qualify that the candidate should beable to operate Microsoft Windows Operating System & MicrosoftOffice.

(v). The Preliminary examination shall be held on 18th August, 2013at 11:00 A.M. at High Court of L'ttarakhand, Nainital. The dates forthe Main examinatio~ s~all be notified on the website of the HighCourt of Uttarakhand i.e. www.highcourtofuttarakhand.gov.in later on.

(vi). The result of Preliminary examination shall be lOaded on the websiteof'the High Court of Uttarakhand on or before 30th August, 2013.No individual information shall be given to the candidates.

(vii) It will be the responsibility of the candidate"selected in the Preliminarytest', to appear in the Main examination himself. No individualinf9.rma~ionshall be given.

(viii) The candidates successful inPreliminary examination shall appearfor Main written examination with the same. Admit Card, which wasissued for Preliminary examination.

(ix). The result of Main written examination shall also be ioaded on thew~bsite of the High Court.
