    2010 RECORDS - - Iowa is 7-2 overall and 4-1 in the Big Ten.Northwestern is 6-3 in all games and 2-3 in the league. Iowa beatEastern Illinois (37-7), Iowa State (35-7), Ball State (45-0), PennState (24-3), Michigan (38-28), Michigan State (37-6) and Indiana(18-13) and lost to Wisconsin (31-30) and at Arizona (34-27).

    Northwestern has beaten Vanderbilt, Illinois State, Rice, CentralMichigan, Minnesota and Indiana. The Wildcats have lost toPurdue, Michigan State and Penn State.

    THE SERIES - - This is the 72nd game in the series and Iowaleads 46-22-3. Northwestern has won four of the last five in theseries, including the last two years in Iowa City.     HAWKEYES VISIT NORTHWESTERNIowa (7-2, 4-1) travels for a second straight week, visiting Northwestern (6-3

    2-3) Saturday. Kickoff is 11 a.m. at Ryan Field (47,130). The game is sold out

    The crowd of over 47,000 is expected to be the largest for an Iowa at Northwesterngame since 1985 (47,276).

    ON THE TUBEESPN (HD) will televise the contest. Dave Pasch, Chris Spielman and Bob Griese

    will call the action. The game is also available online at espn3.com.

    RADIO BROADCASTIowa games are broadcast on the Hawkeye Radio Network. Gary Dolphin handles

    the play-by-play, with color commentator Ed Podolak and sideline reporter RobBrooks. The Hawkeye Radio Network includes more than 40 stations throughouthe state.

    The game can also be heard on Sirius channel 122 and XM channel 143.

    IN THE RANKINGSIowa is 13th in both the Associated Press rankings and the USA Today coaches

    poll. The Hawkeyes are also 13th in the BCS rankings.Around the Big Ten, Wisconsin is ranked 6/5 (AP/Coaches), Ohio State is 8/7

    and Michigan State is 10/10. Penn State and Michigan are receiving votes. Nonconference opponent Arizona is ranked 18/19.

    IOWA IN THE BCS RANKINGSIowa is 13th in the BCS rankings. Iowa was ranked in each of the eight BCS

    rankings in 2009, including an all-time high of fourth on Oct. 26 and Nov. 2. Iowaended last season ranked 10th in the Dec. 6 final poll.

    Iowa was also ranked in the BCS top 25 seven weeks in 2004 and eight weeks inboth 2002 and 2003. Iowa was ranked once during the 2006 season. Prior to thi

    IOWA VS. RANKED OPPONENTSWith the 37-6 win over fifth-ranked Michigan State (10/30/10), Iowa has recorded

    a victory over a top-five ranked team in each of the last three seasons. Iowa defeatedfourth-ranked Penn State (21-10) on the road in 2009 and defeated the third-rankedNittany Lions (24-23) in Kinnick Stadium in 2008.

    Iowa has defeated three ranked teams this season, including Penn State (#20)Michigan (#24) and Michigan State (#5). The two Hawkeye losses have been athe hands of ranked teams (#18 Arizona and #10 Wisconsin). The three wins overranked teams are the most for Iowa since posting a 3-1 record vs. ranked opponentsin 2004.

    FERENTZ EARNS CAREER WIN NO. 100Iowa Coach Kirk Ferentz, in his 15th season as a college head coach, holds a

    career record of 100-78 (.562). Win No. 100 came last weekend with the 18-13victory at Indiana. Ferentz, who also coached at Maine for three seasons, is 88-57(.607) as the Hawkeye head coach.

    FERENTZ ON BOBBY DODD WATCH LISTIowa Coach Kirk Ferentz is one of seven coaches on the official Watch List for

    the 2010 Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award.Ferentz is in his 12th year with the Hawkeyes and has guided the 2010 squad

    to a 7-2 record and is 13th in this weeks Associated Press poll. He has a careerrecord of 100-78.

    Ferentz has been named Big Ten Coach of the Year three times (2002, 04, 09)and was National Coach of the Year in 2002.

    The Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award was first given in 1976 when it wentto Georgias Vince Dooley. Iowas head coach has never won the award.

    HAWKEYE HUDDLE IN EVANSTONThe National I-Club and the UI Alumni Association are sponsoring a Hawkeye

    Huddle Friday, Nov. 12 prior to the Iowa at Northwestern game the followingday. The Huddle will be held from 6-8 p.m. at Goose Island Wrigleyville, 3535North Clark St. in Chicago.

    Weekly Football Press ConferenceIowa Head Coach Kirk Ferentz holds his weekly press

    conferences every Tuesday throughout the season.

    The press conferences are held in the auditorium of

    the Hayden Fry Football Complex. Coach Ferentz ad-

    dresses the media at 12:30 p.m. and requested players

    will be available following the press conference. In case

    of poor weather, player interviews will be conducted

    inside the bubble.

    Media need to submit their Tuesday player interview

    requests to Phil Haddy, via e-mail, by 10:30 a.m. CT

    each Sunday. True freshmen are not available for

    interviews.

    Media can access video highlights of Ferentzs weekly

    press conference, plus player clips and highlights via

    satellite. The time is from 3:30 to 3:45 p.m. (CT). The

    satellite feed is available on AMC 3, Transponder 3,C-Band Analog.

    All press conferences can be viewed on the official

    world wide web site of the Iowa Athletic Department at

    conference is archived.

    TICKET UPDATEIowa sold all tickets for its seven home games. Iowa has issued over 59,000 sea

    son tickets, which includes more than 10,000 student tickets. The Iowa record foraverage home attendance is 70,585, set in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Iowa has sold ouKinnick Stadium 48 of the last 50 games. In addition, Iowa has sold its allotmenof tickets to remaining road games at Northwestern and Minnesota.

    THREE HAWKEYES EARN ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT HONORSThree members of the Iowa football program were named to the ESPN Academic

    All-District Seven first team. Those players are senior OL Julian Vanderveldesenior LB Jeff Tarpinian and junior LB Tyler Nielsen. Each of the three Hawkeyeplayers will now have their name placed on the national ballot for ESPN AcademicAll-America honors.

    Vandervelde is a native of Davenport who has earned all-District recognition forthe third straight season. He was a first team selection in 2008 and earned secondteam honors last season. He carries a 3.46 GPA and is majoring in English andReligious Studies.

    Vandervelde has started all nine games for the Hawkeyes, who are ranked 13thin the current BCS rankings. He has started 33 games throughout his career, including 14 straight. He has earned academic all-Big Ten recognition in each othe past three seasons.

    Tarpinian is a native of Omaha, Neb. He is majoring in Accounting and has a3.58 GPA. He has also earned academic all-Big Ten honors in each of the pasthree seasons.

    Tarpinian has been hampered by injuries in 2010, but has started three gamesHe returned to limited action in Iowas 37-6 win over fifth-ranked Michigan Stateafter missing two games. He had 35 tackles, including 2.5 QB sacks. His forcedfumble led to a touchdown against Arizona.

    Nielsen, a native of Humboldt, holds a 3.56 GPA and is a Management majorHe has earned academic all-Big Ten recognition in each of the past two seasons.

    Nielsen has started eight games at outside linebacker for the nationally-rankedHawkeyes. He is third on the team with 42 tackles. Nielsen has recorded 4.5tackles for loss and four pass break-ups. He had an interception in Iowas 35-7win over Iowa State. He was injured in Iowas win over Michigan State and is

    out indefinitely.Under Coach Kirk Ferentz the last 12 seasons, 17 Iowa football student-athlete

    have combined to earn academic all-District and all-America recognition on 31occasions.

    HAWKEYES ON AWARD LISTSSenior DE Adrian Clayborn, senior QB Ricky Stanzi, senior TE Allen Reisner

    and junior DB Tyler Sash are on reduced lists for national honors at their respec-tive positions.

    Stanzi is one of 16 semifinalists for the 2010 Davey OBrien National Quarterback Award, one of 16 semifinal candidates for the Maxwell Award and one of 15candidates remaining on the Watch List for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Awardfor the top senior quarterback in the nation. Stanzi, in nine games, has completed

    157-230 attempts for 2,212 yards and 20 touchdowns, with only three intercep-tions. He leads the Big Ten and is third nationally in pass efficiency. Stanzi wasa semifinal candidate for the OBrien Award in 2009 as well.

    Clayborn is one of 12 semifinal candidates for the 2010 Rotary Lombardi Awardand one of 16 semifinalists for the Chuck Bednarik Award. In nine games he ha40 tackles, including six tackles for loss and 2.5 QB sacks. He also had a blockedfield goal at Michigan and a forced fumble vs. Wisconsin. Clayborn has 26 consecutive starts and has started 33 games in his career.

    MEYER NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEKFreshman PK Mike Meyer was named Big Ten Conference Special Teams Player

    of the Week for his play in Iowas 18-13 win at Indiana. Meyer converted four offive field goals, connecting from 23, 27, 27 and 42 yards. The 42-yard kick is acareer long and cut Iowas deficit to 13-12 in the fourth quarter. Meyer has made9-11 field goal attempts this season, including seven in a row before missing a22-yard attempt at Indiana.

    Meyer is the first Hawkeye to make as many as four field goals in a game since2005, when Kyle Schlicher made 4-5 attempts in a 34-17 win at Purdue. Schlicherset Iowas record for field goals in game when he made all five attempts in a 29-27win at Minnesota as a sophomore in 2004.

    Meyer is the second true freshman to make four field goals in a game under CoachKirk Ferentz. Nate Kaeding was a perfect 4-4 in field goal attempts in a 26-23 (2OT) win at Penn State in 2000.

    Meyer is the sixth Hawkeye to earn Big Ten honors this season.

    Senior punter Ryan Donahue was named national Punter of the Week by theCollege Football Performance Awards after averaging 60.5 yards on two puntsvs. Wisconsin.

    Junior DB Shaun Prater was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week fol-lowing Iowas 37-6 win over fifth-ranked Michigan State. Prater collected acareer-high 10 tackles and had an interception and 42 yard return vs. the SpartansIowa held MSU to 31 net rushing yards and one touchdown. The Big Ten honoris the first for Prater.

    Senior QB Ricky Stanzi was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week fol-lowing Iowas 38-28 win at Michigan. Stanzi completed 17-24 passes for 248yards and three touchdowns, with no interceptions. The Big Ten honor is thefirst for Stanzi.

    Senior DE Adrian Clayborn was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Weekfollowing Iowas 24-3 win over Penn State Oct. 2. Clayborn collected 10 tacklesin the win, including a quarterback sack for minus 15 yards and three tackles forloss. Iowa held Penn State to 54 net rushing yards and just three points. TheBig Ten honor is the third for Clayborn. He earned the recognition for speciateams in Iowas 2009 win at Penn State and he was defensive Player of the Weekin Iowas 2009 win at Michigan State. Clayborn earned honorable mentionrecognition for his position from the College Football Performance Awards for

    his play against Penn State as well. Junior DL Mike Daniels was named Big Ten Conference co-defensive Playerof the Week for his play in Iowas 45-0 win over Ball State. Daniels recordedcareer bests in tackles and tackles for loss in Iowas shutout victory over BallState. Daniels had four solo tackles and two assists, including four tackles forloss (-20) and one QB sack (-7). The Hawkeye defense held Ball State to jus112 yards total offense (56 rushing, 56 passing). The Big Ten Player of the Weekhonor is the first for Daniels, who was also named national defensive Performerof the Week by the College Football Performance Awards.

Reisnerhad three receptions for 66 yards and a touchdown.     Kirk Ferentz (pronounced FAIR-rintz,rhymes with parents) is in his 12thseason as head football coach at theUniversity of Iowa. His latest contract

    extension runs through the 2020 season.Ferentz was named the 2009 Dave Mc-

    Clain Big Ten Conference Coach of theYear. He was one of 15 semi-finalistsfor the 2009 George Munger Award,presented by the Maxwell Football Clubto the College Coach of the Year. Hewas the 2009 AFCA Region Three Coach of the Year and wasone of 10 finalists for the Liberty Mutual national Coach ofthe Year. He is one of seven candidates for the 2010 BobbyDodd Coach of the Year Award.

    Ferentz was honored as the 2002 Associated Press and WalterCamp National Coach of the Year and was the AFCA Regional

    Coach of the Year that season, as well. He was named BigTen Conference Coach of the Year in 2002, 2004 and 2009.Ferentz guided Iowa to Big Ten titles in 2002 and 2004.

    Iowa has made two BCS bowl appearances, including a 24-14 win in the 2010 FedEx Orange Bowl. Iowa has played in sixJanuary bowl games and has four January bowl victories (2004Outback Bowl, 2005 Capital One Bowl, 2009 Outback Bowland 2010 FedEx Orange Bowl). Iowa has posted an 84-38(.689) overall mark and a 50-27 (.649) Big Ten record the lastnine plus seasons. Ferentz has guided the Hawkeyes to eightfirst divisionfinishes, including a second-place finish in 2009.The Hawkeyes are bowl eligible for the 10th straight season.

    Ferentz, at Iowa, holds an overall record of 88-57 (.607) and

    a 53-40 (.570) mark in Big Ten games. In his 15th season as acollege head coach, he holds a career mark of 100-78 (.562).Fifty-three of Iowas 145 games under Ferentz have been

    decided by seven points or less (25-28) and 44 were playedagainst opponents who were ranked in the top 25 at the time(19-25).

    Ferentz joined the Iowa staff after serving as assistant headcoach and offensive line coach of the NFLs Baltimore Ravens.He was part of the Baltimore (Cleveland Browns prior to themove) staff for six years.

    Ferentz was named head coach of the Maine Bears in 1990and held that position for three years. Ferentz was a memberof Hayden Frys Iowa staff for nine years as offensive linecoach (1981-89). He coordinated Iowas running game duringhis first coaching stint at Iowa. Iowa appeared in eight bowlgames during the time Ferentz was an Iowa assistant.

    Ferentz was born in Royal Oak, MI, and attended high schoolin Pittsburgh, PA. Kirk earned his bachelors degree in EnglishEducation from the University of Connecticut in 1978, wherehe was a football captain. Kirk received the DistinguishedAlumnus Award from the Neag School of Education at theUniversity of Connecticut in May, 2009. He was inducted intothe Upper St. Clair High School Hall of Fame in September,2002 and the Western Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hallof Fame in May, 2003.

    In addition, LB Jeff Tarpinian missed Iowas opening game and games vs. Michigan and Wisconsin before returning to limited action the last two weeks. He didnot start vs. Penn State and was limited to just a few plays on defense. Tarpinianled Iowa in tackles (32) through five games. Senior FB Brett Morse did not playat Michigan, ending his starting streak at 18 consecutive starts, but returned vsWisconsin.

    RB Adam Robinson, Iowas leading rusher, and OL Adam Gettis, did not playat Indiana.

    Redshirt freshman OL Nolan MacMillan has missed Iowas last three games aftestarting the first six. Senior LB Jeremiha Hunter started thefirst seven games beformissing the Michigan State contest. Hunter has 33 career starts after returning tothe line-up at Indiana.

    OLB Tyler Nielsen, who started the first eight games and ranked third in tackleswas injured vs. Michigan State and is out indefinitely.

    Iowa defensive coordinator Norm Parker underwent a medical procedure in latSeptember and has missed seven games.     FERENTZ NAMED COACH OF THE YEARIowa Coach Kirk Ferentz was named the Dave McClain Big Ten Conferenc

    Coach of the Year for the third time in 2009. Ferentz was a finalist for the LibertyMutual national Coach of the Year award and was one of 15 semi-finalists for thGeorge Munger Award, presented by the Maxwell Football Club to the CollegeCoach of the Year. The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) namedFerentz its 2009 Region Three Coach of the Year.

    Ferentz was also the league Coach of the Year in 2002 and 2004. He was thAssociated Press and Walter Camp National Coach of the Year in 2002.

    Ferentz has led 10 straight Iowa teams to bowl eligibility and the Hawkeyes havefinished in the Big Tens first division eight of the past nine seasons.

    COACHING RECOGNITIONIowa Coach Kirk Ferentz has been named Big Ten Coach of the Year three time

    NORTHWESTERN COACH PAT FITZGERALDPat Fitzgerald is in his fifth season as a collegiate head coach, all at Northwestern

    His record stands at 33-26 (.559). Fitzgerald led his team to an 8-5 record a yeaago. The Wildcats played in the 2009 Outback Bowl. The Wildcats are 23-12since the start of the 2008 season.

    Fitzgerald, who was a two-time first team all-American linebacker with thWildcats (1995-96), began his coaching career as a defensive graduate assistant aMaryland (1998) and Colorado (1999). In 2000, Fitzgerald coached linebackerand special teams at Idaho before returning to his alma mater in 2001. The nativ

    of Orland Park, IL, coached the Wildcats defensive backs in 2001 before coachingthe linebackers four years (2002-05). Fitzgerald won the Bronco Nagurski andChuck Bednarik awards, as the nations top defensive player, and was named BigTen Defensive Player of the Year, in 1995 and 1996. He became the first two-timwinner of both the Nagurski and Bednarik awards.

    Fitzgerald earned his first career Big Ten victory against Iowa (21-7) on Nov. 42006 in Iowa City.

    Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk SeriesThe Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series is in its seventh season in2010-11. The series is tied 3-3 in the in-state competi-tion against Iowa State that began in 2004-05. IowaState captured the Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series a year agoby a 16-11 margin.

    Iowa holds a 5-2 advantage to date, defeating ISUin football and womens soccer and falling to ISUin volleyball.

    Last season, Iowa captured victories in football,womens soccer, wrestling, womens gymnastics andwomens tennis. The Cyclones recorded wins in vol-leyball, mens and womens cross country, mens andwomens basketball, womens swimming and diving,womens gymnastics and softball.

    Iowa captured the inaugural Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series(13-8) in 2004-05 and won again in 2006-07 (13-8)and 2008-09 (21-4). Iowa State won the competitionin 2005-06 (13-8) and 2007-08 (18-9) and 2009-10(16-11).

    The 12-event series awards two points (except foot-ball, which is worth three) to the winning school ineach head-to-head match-up between the two insti-tutions. Additionally, two points are awarded to aninstitution if the graduation rate of its student-athletesis greater than the national average as reported eachfall by the NCAA.

    A commemorative Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series Cup,

    which stands 31 inches tall and weighs 19 pounds, isdisplayed on the winning teams campus for an entireyear after a victory. Replica cups are also presentedas traveling trophies for individual victorious teamsin the head-to-head competition.

    Iowa and Northwestern are among national leaders in turnover margin. Iowaranks third (+1.3) and Northwestern is 23rd (.67). Iowas six turnovers aresecond lowest in the nation behind Oregon State (four).

    Saturdays contest is Northwesterns first sellout of the season at Ryan Field(47,130). The previous largest crowd this season at Ryan Field was 41,115 forthe Michigan State game.

    In winning 17-10 last year, Northwestern started four drives on Iowas side of

    the field, and recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown. This seasonjust three of 100 opponent drives have started in Iowa territory.

    Northwestern took advantage of four turnovers in its win a year ago in IowaCity (two interceptions, two fumbles). Iowa, through nine games in 2010, hasjust six turnovers.

    Iowa QB Ricky Stanzi and Northwestern QB Dan Persa were both injured whenthe teams met last season. Stanzi suffered an ankle injury in the second periodand missed Iowas final two games. Persa suffered a hand injury and did nofinish the game.

    The Iowa roster includes 14 players from the state of Illinois, including DLScott Covert (Lake Forest), PK Ryan Donahue (Evergreen Park), TE C.J. Fie-dorowicz (Johnsburg); OL Adam Gettis (Frankfort), LB Dakota Getz (Macon)TE Brad Herman (Metamora), DL Martin Hopkins (Chicago), LB Matthew

    There are no Iowans on the Northwestern roster. Jason White (Nov. 12) is the only Hawkeye with a birthday this week.

    COACHING CONNECTIONS Iowa and Northwestern split four meetings during Wildcat Coach Pat Fitzgerald

    playing career. Fitzgerald earned all-American honors as a junior and senior in1995 and 1996.

    Mike Hankwith, Northwesterns defensive coordinator, was on the coachingstaff at Arizona when the Wildcats defeated Iowa 23-20 in 1973. He has alsocoached at Michigan, Purdue and Wisconsin within the Big Ten.

    Marty Long, Northwesterns defensive line coach, was on the coaching staff aArizona when Iowa met the Wildcats in both 1996 and 1998, splitting the twomeetings.

    NORTHWESTERN WON IN IOWA CITYNorthwestern took advantage of four Hawkeye turnovers in the second period

    and held Iowa scoreless after the first quarter in taking a 17-10 win in Iowa CityThe loss was Iowas first of the season and marked Northwesterns third straighwin in Kinnick Stadium.

    Iowa started fast, using a 74-yard pass fromRicky Stanzi to Marvin McNutt to take a 7-0 leadon the third play of the game. After the Iowadefense forced a three and out, the Hawkeyes

    increased their advantage to 10-0 on a 39-yardfield goal by Daniel Murray on their followingpossession.

    The game changed in the second period whenIowa forced a Wildcat punt and took posses-sion at the Iowa six-yard line. Stanzi fumbledwhen sacked in the end zone, and Northwesternrecovered for a touchdown. Stanzi suffered anankle injury on the play and did not return to action.

    Northwestern collected its second pass interception on Iowas next possessionand drove 46 yards for the go-ahead touchdown with 5:20 left in the half. It appeared for a moment that Iowa regained the lead just two plays later when BrandonWegher appeared to score on a 64-yard run. That play was nullified by a holdingcall and the half ended with Northwestern leading 14-10.

    Iowa drove to the Northwestern 29 midway through the third period, but a 46-yard Murray field goal attempt was just left. The Wildcats added a field goal with13:29 to play to end the scoring.

    The Iowa defense played a solid game, allowing Northwestern just 239 yardstotal offense. Northwestern reached the Iowa red zone just once, but the Wildcatsheld almost a nine minute advantage in time of possession. LB Pat Angerer ledthe Hawkeye defense with a career-high 17 tackles. Jeremiha Hunter added 10tackles and Joe Conklin collected his first career interception.

    IOWA RALLIES PAST INDIANAIowa led for most of the game, but had to rally in the fourth quarter for an 18-13

    win at Indiana, earning Coach Kirk Ferentz career win No. 100.Iowa drove to a field goal on its first possession of the game and added another

    three-pointer in the second period, but still found the score tied 6-6 at halftime.The Hoosiers answered both of Iowas first halffield goal drives with a field goa

    of their own.Iowa took a 9-6 advantage with 5:33 remain-ing in the third period on a 27-yard field goal byMike Meyer, who had connected from 23 and 27yards in the first half. The Hoosiers answeredagain, taking the lead with 42 seconds remain-ing in the quarter on a one-yard run by QB BenChappell.

    The Hawkeyes responded with another fieldgoal, as Meyer connected on a career-long 42-yard kick with 8:33 remaining to cut the Iowadeficit to a single point. Iowa regained posses-sion with 3:42 remaining in the game and tookjust three plays to drive 88 yards for the winning score. QB Ricky Stanzi completedconsecutive passes to WR Derrell Johnson-Koulianos for 21 and 15 yards. Stanzthen hit WR Marvin McNutt, Jr. down the middle for a 52-yard touchdown andthe winning margin with 2:50 left in the game. Iowas two-point pass attempt waincomplete.

    Still, the Hawkeyes had to hold off one last Indiana scoring threat. The Hoosiersstarted from their own 41 after a 28 yard KO return and quickly moved to a firsdown at the Iowa 18. After three straight incompletions and a timeout with 35seconds remaining, Chappells final pass into the end zone was incomplete andIowa had its third straight win over the Hoosiers.

    Stanzi was again outstanding for Iowa, completing 22-33 passes for 290 yardswith one touchdown and one interception. McNutt, Jr. led Iowa receivers withsix catches for 126 yards and Johnson-Koulianos had 72 yards on six receptionsFreshman RB Marcus Coker, in his first career start, rushed 22 times for 129 yards

    INDIANA EXTRA POINTS Iowa engineered another fourth quarter comeback over Indiana. The Hawkeyes

    have outscored the Hoosiers 51-0 combined in the fourth quarter the last threemeetings, dating back to 2008.

    Senior WR Derrell Johnson-Koulianos became Iowas career leader in passreceptions with a six-yard catch in the first period, giving him 158 in his careerThe previous career leader was Kevin Kasper (1997-00) with 157. He endedthe game with six receptions for 72 yards. Johnson-Koulianos improved hicareer totals to 163 catches for 2,440 yards and 15 touchdowns. He became

    Iowas career leader in receiving yards (surpassing Tim Dwight, 2,271) in thewin at Michigan. Johnson-Koulianos is tied for fourth on the career list with15 touchdown receptions.

    WR Marvin McNutt, Jr. caught six balls for a game-high 126 yards, includingthe game-winning 52-yard reception with 2:50 left in the fourth quarter. He istied for ninth in career touchdown receptions with 13.

    True freshman RB Marcus Coker started for the first time. He started in place oRB Adam Robinson, who missed his first game of the season. Iowa also starteda true freshman at running back against Indiana last season, and Robinson alsomissed that game. Coker reached career bests in carries (22) and yards (129)surpassing 100 yards for the first time in his career.

    The game marked the third straight year Iowa has had a freshman running backgain over 100 rushing yards against Indiana. In 2008, Jewel Hampton rushed22 times for 114 yards and last season Brandon Wegher rushed 25 times for 118yards. Both Hampton and Wegher scored three touchdowns against the Hoosiers

    Senior QB Ricky Stanzi completed 22-33 passes for 290 yards. Stanzi improvedhis career totals to 478-792 for 6,585 yards and 51 touchdowns. Iowa is 25-6with Stanzi as its starting quarterback. He has at least one touchdown pass inthe last 18 games he has played.

    Mike Meyer made field goals of 23 and 27 yards in the first half before missingfrom 22 yards. He added a 27-yarder in the third period and a career-long 42yard kick in the fourth. Meyer had made seven straight since missing his firsattempt of the season. He made more than one field goal in a game for the firstime in his career and the five attempts are a career-high. He has made 9-11field goals, including both attempts from 40 yards and beyond.

    Iowa has just six turnovers in nine games and has no turnovers in four gamesIowas turnover Saturday was its first since a pass interception in the first periodof the 24-3 win over Penn State, Oct. 2.

    Senior DB Brett Greenwood had his team-leading fourth interception of theseason in the first period on a pass deflected by LB James Morris. Greenwoodis now tied for seventh in career interceptions with 11. He is tied with Plez Atkins and Brad Quast. Greenwood also surpassed 200 career tackles vs. Indianawith his six tackles today. He now has 205 career stops. Greenwood was alsocredited with two pass break-ups.

    P Ryan Donahue had two punts for 97 yards (48.5 avg.). He had a long punt o53 yards and one downed inside the 20 yard line.

    The Iowa Hawkeyes were among the nations leaders in academic

    success for college football teams that competed in bowl games fol-

    lowing the 2008 season.

    Iowa ranked 16th in graduation rate for its football student-athletes,according to data collected by the NCAA among the 68 college foot-

    ball teams that participated in the 34 college football bowl games.

    Iowas graduation rate of 75% ranked third among teams that ap-

    peared in the 2008 final top 25 rankings.

    Iowas most current GSR of 79%, released in late October,

    ranks third among teams currently ranked in the BCS top 25

    and is 12 percentage points higher than the national average.
