• After having worked very hard to prepare for a very successful Christmas concert, all of the classes enjoyed bringing back some of the songs that were featured earlier in the school year.

• In addition, grades 3-6 have enjoyed music from Disney's Beauty and the Beast. • The concert band has had most of the month off and resumed classes on January 22nd to

prepare for the spring concert.

• PK: Students are continuing to work on improving their locomotor skills and have enjoyed playing “listening and direction games.”

• K-2: Participated in a variety of relay and tag games.

• 3-6: Practiced basketball rules and skills during their Basketball Unit.

• A special “thank you” to Mr. & Mrs. Earl and all the volunteers that helped make our All You Can Eat Breakfast a real treat! We raised $1,117.00 from the breakfast!

• A special “thank you” to Ms. Katie Eastman from the Rome Humane Society for visiting with us on our Day of Service. And thank you for all the donations for the Humane Society!

• February 1st: K-6 Game Show at Notre Dame Elementary and PK 3 & PK 4 Fun & Games field trip to Billy Beez.

• February 2nd: Generations of Faith Mass and Luncheon.

• February 14th: Ash Wednesday Mass @ St. Paul’s.

• February 19th – February 23rd: No school -Mid-Winter Recess.

Vocal Music Notes

• We read “The Mitten,” and “Snowball Fight.” • Students had fun making a snow project with recycled items and shaving cream. • We enjoyed creating snow globes with water and glitter. • We learned what animals hibernate in the winter and how others adapt in the Winter. • Students created hibernating puppet pals.

• PK-K: learned to count from 0 to 10. They also learned fruits, vegetables, and how to say food in Spanish

• 1-2: learned the clothes in Spanish which is "la ropa", days of the week, and numbers from 1 up to 30

• 3-4: are learning the seasons, and the months of the year in Spanish

• 5-6: are learning occupations, the opposite, and how to write the numbers up to 1 million "un millón"
