NORTHERN FORTIES RE-ENACTMENT GROUP
2013 YEARBOOK
Foreword by Wayne Stokes, Chairman
The end of another year, and one thankfully much
drier than 2012 as far as the weather was concerned. We
had a fairly good summer this year with some decent
temperatures, although rain and wind did make their
presence known and flooded the tent of Alan Taylors
family at Cornbury Park, whilst the wind ripped Mark
Craigs tent open, forcing his premature evacuation from
Pickering.
Nevertheless, we had a cracking season where Northern
Forties excelled itself. We were the largest group in
attendance at Cleethorpes, Thorpe Camp and Brighouse
three events so successful that we have been invited back
again for 2014. We also attended several events in aid of
charity, helping to raise money for the British Legion and
Help for Heroes amongst others.
During the year we welcomed a number of new sub-
groups including 53rd
Fighter Squadron Operations and
the Normandy Combat Engineers.
I hope you enjoy this Yearbook as in previous years, and
that it brings back more recent memories of some of the
fun we have had together during 2012.

This years album has been even more difficult and time-
consuming to put together as too many of our members
are having too good a time at events to bother to take
photographs. However, some do and their efforts are
produced here as a record of our groups achievements
during the last year.
As usual, I have tried to make sure that every member is
represented. If members only come to a handful of
events, it is inevitable that there will be less photos of
them available. This is one of the reasons why we keep
trying to encourage our members to attend as many
events as they can and to bring cameras with them.
In addition to the usual events in 2013, our members were
asked to assist with several television/film productions
......
although we were only able to assist with three. Again,
photos from these are rare as certainly in the case of the
film Allies (which premieres in cinemas in June 2014), we
were on a closed set and the taking of photos on the set
was forbidden. A selection of what we could gather is
presented at the end of Volume 2.
