FACULTY
“Today’s global lawyer needs an appreciation of the cultural, historical and institutional underpinnings of different legal systems. In my comparative law class, we examine the roles
served by law in different regimes, including legitimizing the
state, supporting a market economy, settling disputes and
giving voice to political participation.”
— PROFESSOR MARGARET WOO
Faculty members play a crucial role in mentoring students, inviting students to collaborate in research and public interest projects and offering advice and direction for co-op and post-graduate employment.

“ I am an international lawyer — I was educated and worked in France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and the United States. While the language of international
law may be similar across borders, its cultural understanding
varies considerably. These differences can help us devise
creative institutions and legal processes to respond to the
world’s human, economic and political challenges.”
