Time Line for the MIAA Fall North Sectional Swim & Dive Championships

WPI Aquatic Center

MIAA Sportsmanship guidelines and behavioral expectations will be strictly enforced throughout the

meet. These guidelines specifically prohibit all noisemakers and signs. Shirts must be worn in the

spectator gallery at all times and body painting is not allowed. Only school or team banners are allowed

and these must be hung by meet staff. No coolers, folding chairs or saving seats allowed in the pool

balcony. In fairness to all spectators, there is an expectation of no saving seats. Only participants and

team staff listed on the roster may be on deck during the meet. No food is allowed on the pool deck, and

masks must be worn at all times by all competitors (except when in the water or on the diving board),

coaches, officials, meet staff and media members.

7:45 Swimmers & Coaches check-in at 2nd Entrance Door to Pool Balcony

8:00 Warm-ups begin in the Competition Pool and designated lanes Diving Pool

8:15 – 8:35 Coaches’ Meeting: Relay Declarations, Information, Scratch, False Start Declarations

in the hallway leading to the pool area

TBA Meeting of all divers and dive coaches in the diving well area.

TBA Sprint lanes (one length), Time & Lanes will be announced by the meet referee

8:50 Warm-up Ends.

8:55 Introduction of Seniors & National Anthem

9:00 Fall North Sectional Championship in Swimming & Diving begin 8 Lane Swimming

----- Ten minute Swim Break in lieu of Diving. (Competition Pool is open)

----- Five minute Swim Break prior to 400 F.S. Relay (Competition Pool is closed)

STUDENT-ATHLETE of the MONTH AWARD The MIAA Student-Athlete of the

Month Award is presented on a

monthly basis to two student-

athletes who display excellence in

the areas of academics, athletics

and community service.

HARRY AGGANIS STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR SCHOLARSHIP The recipients of the Harry Agganis

Student-Athlete of the Year

Scholarship are selected from the

16 winners of the MIAA Student-

Athlete of the Month Award. These

student-athletes are recognized for

best exemplifying the highest

achievement in the areas of

academics, athletics and

community service. The legacy of

Harry Agganis as a scholar, an

athlete and a servant to his

community is now enshrined in this

annual scholarship recognition of

two outstanding MIAA student-

athletes.

STUDENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE (SAC) MIAA Student Advisory Committee

(SAC) is comprised of student

leaders from MIAA member

schools across the state. These

students attend seasonal

meetings with the Educational

Athletics Committee and help

facilitate student and captains

leadership workshops throughout

the school year. They participate in

various association activities and

provide continual feedback from

the perspective of students on how

to improve the Educational Athletic

offerings of the MIAA.

Four MIAA Wellness Awards are presented annually to individuals and partner organizations in recognition of their efforts to help

students make healthy life choices and promote the health and well-being of students within their school and/or throughout the state.

MIAA Coach of the Year Award recognizes and honors “teacher

coaches” who have had an impact on the lives of student-athletes

by encouraging them to succeed and by helping them develop

self-confidence, ambition, a sound work ethic and other skills or

values necessary or helpful for success in their later lives.

MIAA Official of the Year Award recognizes and honors officials

who have displayed character, integrity and dignity, while

displaying the highest standards of ethical conduct.

The MIAA and MSAA extend sincere gratitude and

appreciation to senior students who have committed to

joining the Armed Forces of the United States of America

after their graduation. In the 2020-21 inaugural year of

this program, over 170 students were recognized by school

leadership. The Associations look forward to seeing this

number grow in the coming years.

The mission of the MIAA/MSAA Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Committee is to foster diversity among member schools,

athletic administrators, coaches and student-athletes by

promoting inclusiveness, awareness, and acceptance. The

focus is to celebrate all differences by creating

associations that are welcoming and engaging for all.
